President Michael Sata must stop his usual out bursts and threats against former president Rupiah Banda, it’s not right. There’s always a better way to correct the former president if he is over stepping his bounds and that’s by sitting with him and reasoning with him. If he has committed some serious offenses whilst in office, again why not allow the law take its course?
You cannot deal with the former head of state by revealing his secrets and threatening him every time he goes wrong. That’s tantamount to washing dirty linen in public.
Also Sata should realise that Rupiah Banda is an asset to the nation having been president before and also by having been in politics for some time. He has a wealth of experience which we as a nation including Sata himself need to harness for the good of mother Zambia and not the madness of always just looking and talking about what he did wrong in the public, especially if we can’t also talk about the good things he did.
Has Sata himself done everything right all these years he has been in politics or even just these few days he has been president of Zambia?
By this am not in any way indorsing Rupiah Banda stirring up waters among our people (tribes) or him being involved in active politics. Yes former president Rupiah Banda and KK should not be involved in active politics, but should play an advisory role and father figure to the nation as well as the whole continent. Secondly none of us as the right to choose for the Zambians who should lead them, but the people of Zambia themselves.
Therefore, if that’s what RB is doing, he is dam wrong and needs to be corrected soon. However, president Sata should do the correction in love and with respect considering the status of the man, former president.
Remember, two wrongs do make a right. Agree or not the history of mother Zambia will be incomplete without all our former and late presidents.
Further, Sata though age mates with RB, should just come to terms with the fact that RB was before him. Hence, he should treat him with a lot of respect, if not for his contributions to mother Zambia, then for the office he held.
Please Ba Sata we are tired of politics of vindictiveness, finger pointing, insults and witch hunt as though we are the only nation in the world.
All he need is to be reminded that this is not time for compaigns but time to govern the 13,000,000 heads of zambians.even on the fake promises they gave us.yaba.
Zambia is on auto-pilot.
I have never been a supporter of any politician in Zambia but the level of incompetence seen in this government is worrying. Instead of concentrating on unemployment and the unfulfilled promises, he is now busy issuing unwarranted statements just swaying us away from real issues. If these guys are not careful they will lose big time in 2016 and sometimes I wonder why people support Sata so much as if he is the greatest there has been and yet he has no plan leading this nation. Sata is very good in opposition so lets work together and put him where he belongs and where he works well and that is in opposition
Rupiah does not deserve to be regarded as a statesman if he deliberately, wilfully, knowingly and intentionally undermine the incumbent in order to destabilise his govt and the nation at large.
Tribalism has the potential to bring strife in the nation and must be exposed together with its advocates.
By the way respect is a two way route. Rupiah must have the respect for the office especially that he was the immediate past republican president..

Seriously, this kind of cadre-ist writing is not news, it is opinion and advocacy.
Stop whining about what President Sata did or did not say, and start focusing on the fact that the UPND and MMD have no economic programs that anyone can vote for. Nor are they led by people who are credible, like the televangelist Nevers Mumba.
And what economic program does the PF have? Last I checked, they have reneged on every promise that defined their economic program, especially the windfall tax. If more money in our pockets meant raising the minimum wage, oh, that too is in trouble!
Mata:As long as I am a northerner I can do what I want! Haha, in my next press conference if ever, I will rename Zambia to Chitulika or Chambeshi.
That is very very true! It is too much! Sata is becoming childish and useless, we need money in our pockets and not stupid arguments with your fellow leaders
@2. No one was denied to sell himself for presidency including yourself. The big man sold himself well and was voted for by the people. All you have to do is wait for 2016 and vote. If you or your preferred candidate wants to be president, let them sell themselves.
For your advise if you do sell yourself the Sata way you may not get it right because the political landscape has changed and people now think differently, wisdom is required to sell yourself well. You appease no one no matter what foul language you use against the head of state, because as at now things do not work that way.
Tell people what you will do to end their poverty maybe they can listen and vote for you. As for Micheal Sata he is the Head of State and no one can do anything about it.

Why do you want Sata to keep quite when RB is talking nosense. Was Mwanawasa not answering back when Sata or HH even KK talks? Was RB himself not answering back at attacks from Sata or HH? was Chiluba not answering back at KK attacks or Mazoka? Why do you want sata to remain quite? This is politics and in African politics you have to defend yourself in order to quide your supporters about any allegations.
I agree with you Sata is good in the opposition and he has no plan whatsoever of what he talks about. He is a person of no destiny. For this reason Zambia has no destiny under this CNP. We were cursed on that fateful night when we voted for him. Let him be in the opposition forever! I rest my case!

Mr Musoma, If the the president does not talk about tribalism, then who is supposed to talk about? What Banda is doing is very wrong, if ignored we might ended up with a Rwanda situation because a former president sowed the seed of hatred. Banda should just enjoy his benefits and stay away from politics, defeat in elections is just part of democracy.
This article does not sit right with me. It tends to equivocate. I hate that!! What has Banda done wrong. There is only one culprit in this Saga and his name is NOT Rupiah Banda. His name is Mike Sata(n). He is the devil who is pedling hatred and tribalism in Zambia. I have a feeling the article that Sata is credited for writing against Banda was actually written by George Chela and not Sata. The venom in it is potent but it not Cobra venom. It tastes more like that of a blood sucking vampire and only George Chela and Fred Mumembe have that king of poisonous tribalism. Yes. Sata is evil too, but he pales in comparison to these too gentlemen( All pun intended). Shalom
But that is how Zambian politics has been conducted all along. Chiluba on Kaunda. Mwanawasa on Chiluba. Now Sata on Rupiah. But Ba Rupiah kuiletelela fye abene. He has issued unwise statements really to attract hot reactions from the one who is in charge now. The apology to bush “on behalf of Zambians” and now his support for “change of Presidency based on tribe” cannot come from “a President for all Zambians”.

Why did he issue the statement publicly? I agree that may be he should be talked to in private. However, the public should know what the Presidency feels about such a statement. “The President takes great exception to the statement…bla…bla…bla”.
So what if the statement was written by George Chella? Isn’t that his job? If Fred Mmembe had an input are you jealousy of him? You will never get to write anything of Presidential value yourself, except your stupid blogging.

The author of the article is spot on.Mr Sata needs to act with decorum befitting and respectful of the office he holds.He is no longer the opposition leader and his behaviour should reflect that.The fact that he is known as king cobra should not be seen by Sata as a badge of honour but a liability.Its a recognition by many zambians that he has anger issues and abbrasive language that he needs to tame.

I totally agree with the writer. Sata should behave like a president and not a cadre. He is a President for all Zambians and if he feels aggreved by some one, he should use appropriate channel to speak to them.
At 24. We baboons did not insult you but we took strong exception in comparing us with Mr. Sata. Everybody knows that he is of reptile descent and more so the venomous community. We baboons live in peace. In our society we are inclusive and treat one another with respect and not with threats. We preside over our affairs with humility. Our advice to Mr. Sata is that he behave as a head of state and not like a callboy responding to everything everyone says. How can a president react with such venom over some unconfirmed article in a tabloid. He has access the the former President and from what is known at one time Mr. Sata would have meals prepared by Mr. Banda’s mother. Clearly they they are friends and can talk about issues. Mr. Sata is being childish, he needs to grow up

How does the whole big of u react on POST story that RB now wants a un bemba to rule Zambia with undisclosed source ? Treat that as just a rumour but alas u went on to comment as if those were verified facts . Mind u that was unsubstantiated story that could be false . So there was no need to attack R B in the manner u did . Keep away from POST . It ll mislead u sooner than later . WATCH OUT for Mmembe .
