THE Patriotic Front (PF) says Zambians should ignore rhetoric meant to make President Sata’s running of the country difficult. The PF says Zambians should instead continue supporting President Sata and his administration to build on the successes achieved so far.

This is according to a statement released on Sunday by the PF’s director of media and publicity Chanda Mfula. Mr Mfula said Zambians should not allow themselves to be diverted from the PF’s achievements in the 10 months it has been in power.

He cited the reinstatement of the Abuse of Office clause in the Anti-Corruption Act as one such positive move by the current government. Mr Mfula said the clause has not only strengthened the fight against corruption but restored donor and investor confidence in the country’s economy and governance.

Mr Mfula said the PF’s commitment to the fight against corruption has already seen proper distribution of resources to needy and critical social and economic areas such as agriculture, education and health.

“This is no mean achievement as corruption has mainly been responsible for the lack of social services such as access to good health, clean water, food and education for the majority of our people in the last 20 years,” he said.

Mr Mfula said the PF, under the leadership of President Sata, is on course with its programmes aimed at delivering its promises to Zambians and is, therefore, always reluctant to engage in political discourse which does not address issues.

He said other milestone achievements by the PF include the increase in the tax exemption threshold and the upward revision of the minimum wage for low income earners, which has received support.

Last year, the PF government increased the tax threshold from K1 million to K2 million. This means those earning below K2 million are not taxed.

Government adjusted the minimum wage recently by about 100 percent, putting salaries for domestic workers at K522,000 per month, while shop and general workers will now earn about K1.1 million.

Mr Mfula also said both public and private media are enjoying great editorial independence to enable them give the Zambian people balanced and impartial views.

And PF Copperbelt provincial youth secretary Chanda Kabwe says the youth expect the opposition to participate positively in the governance of the country for the benefit of the people.

Mr Kabwe said the current trend where the opposition is not participating in the development of the country is worrying.

“As PF youths on the Copperbelt, we would like to express our displeasure with the leaders in the opposition who are constantly frustrating efforts that the government is making to improve the social welfare of the people,” he said.

Mr Kabwe cited the United Party for National Development (UPND) as one of the opposition parties not offering constructive criticism to Government.

He appealed to UPND youths to behave in a mature and sober manner whenever they are issuing statements in the media about the government.

Mr Kabwe also urged non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Zambia to supplement Government’s efforts in sensitising members of the public about the constitution-making process.

He said a good constitution should reflect the views of the majority of the Zambians, hence the need for NGOs to participate fully.

  1. Mfula, don’t think we Zambians are so stupid and inept that we fail to see and read what activities are taking place. Why are you faling to mention the 15% only awarded to public servants against 100% which Sata and his minions awarded themselves. Is that what you call achievement? Silly boy.

  2. You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think. The average person thinks he’s above average!
For most folks, they don’t know, what they don’t know.
Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think.
    Before you criticize, wait.

  3. Attention Mr.Mfula and Mr. Kabwe,
Establish a hotline number where ordinary members of the general public in Zambia can easily communicate their problems to your government in lieu of further marginalising those who are not indifferent to the policies of the PF govt. What is clear at the moment is that you are informing the world that on the basis of the opposition being un indifferent to your govt. they qualify to be candidates driving the development backwards. This is unacceptable.

  4. CADRES THINK THE SAME, MMD USED TO SAY THE SAME UNTIL THEY LOST POWER. PF CADRES DOING THE SAME EVEN WHEN UKWA MIS-RULING US..

  5. I sincerely apolgise to Senior Citizen for calling him names . Sir you were the man is leadin this country into  ditch .   what would one  expect from a sepent soul

  6. Political failures (PF). you cheated us .. i now understand your slogan ‘ donti kubeba’ indeed. anyway God WILL judge accordingly.

    • What is failure?
                 2001       2005    2008      2011
      UPND:  26.76%  25.32% 19.70%  18.17%
      MMD:    28.69%  42.98%  40.09%  35.42%
      PF:         3.35%  29.37%  38.13%  41.98%

  7. The achievements he is talking about must be in muchinga.I for one i havent seen any.Pf has no plan at all for the country. All the ideas the big man used to talk about befor he became president have evaporated!

  8. Yes, I agree, please stop the insults and demeaning the presidency. The govt is of the opinion that it knows what it’s doing. You were never so vocal and abusive when UNIP and MMD ravaged the country through wanton plunder and neglect. Now, just because PF and Sata have proved to be too smart for you and won the election doesn’t mean you have to be bitter and frustrated and resort to insulting the govt and Sata. But I doubt very much you would do better than PF is doing if you were in the same position. MMD is a case in point, saturated with over educated ministers but who proved themselves common thieves.

    • Its easy to say such things from Hilbrow aint it? You aren’t experiencing load shedding, rat infested hospitals etc..Please stop insulting our intelligence, how do you use PF ..Sata… and smart in the same sentence? Please visit Baragwanath hospital psychiatric department ASAP

    • ati “the government is of the opinion that it knows what its doing.” Well guess what? we could care less about their opinion, millions of Zambian are not impressed with their leadership in the past 11 months.

  9. No need to panic ba  PF,It’s WORKS that counts! Do what you promised Zambians, period!! start with the Constitution &Judicial reforms are a matter of urgency. As a backbone of SOCIETY and people’s HOPES, Constitution including its provisions on Judiciary and the whole judicial system which is now rotten to the core, must redeem itself or It’s redeemed especially now that It’s hijacked by friends and relatives of those in political power and the Post paper… Does changing judges or chief justices amount to Judicial reforms???, where is Malawi’s chipoka and what’s he doing?? Does his current stay on Zambia’s tax payers inspire confidence in govt?? Those who rule by 10 commandments must keep promises. It’s a Covenant. Those who don’t keep promises are FOOLS- the bible says

    •  Bible says,Be honourable , honour the promises u made, least It’s foolishness Ecclesiastes 5v 4-7 and then Ezekiel 37:26. The promises are as fresh as the opportunities for jobs , the pro poor justice system, care for the poor’s money. Tightening the budget, no wastes, strict adherence to austerity and enactment of a NEW constitution within a year!,.The signs so far are NOT inspiring!
A revolution for zambia is the only way to restore sanity and bring Real CHANGE! Immediately, suspend this barbaric colonial  CONSTITUTION which continues to breed leaders that are heartless, oppressing citizens and the source of economic exploitation. More urgent too, CHANGING the governance structures and judicial system that has become a conduit for political leaders muzzle of people’s rights

  10. If MMD had continued,i dont know where we would have been today economically,If UPND had worn,i dont think they would have done better by today,if NAREP,UNIP,HERITAGE etc had worn,i dont know where we would have been.I think PF has been ok so far.No government can develop a country in 1 yr.In 2016, this country will be much much better than it is and it was in the 20yrs MMD were ruling.

  11. We r backing u our beloved and couragous pesident!U were in opposition for more than 10years and u did it.U r only 10months in Govt.U will do it Mr Sata H.E.PLIZ Stop insulting the president and start telling us what u can offfer.Insults wont win u an election.Viva PF Viva Sata.Go zambia Go Chipolopolo Go PF.

  12. I don’t see any sucesses the PF has done. You jail Liato for having K2billion and yet George Chellah buys a house for K900million cash.Where did that simple journalist get that kind of money? PF is fighting MMD on one hand for theft while doing the exact say thing with the other hand.

  13. My auntie was sick in at Kitwe central hospital and I saw all manner of rats there. Is one year not enough time to buy rat poison? What will it take for proper service deleivery in Zambia. We need a new breed of leaders the Freedom Fighters need to resign and let the young ones rule.Chipimo am voting for you come 2016

  14. Sakeni meant that Bembas should ignore comments made by milupi and others as they were the only ones (bembas) eating with sata. Zambia won’t develop for all to have a share but sata as the savior for bembas will ensue that they have all they want at least.

  15. Same with me, Chipimo – u will have my vote! Other than Chipimo, its very clear tht no other political leader is sound or str8t!!!!

  16. But you man, WHY do you want us to ignore them when you yourself has not. It would have started with you. Now what you have done is to remind us once more of your failures. Look, you are even at pains explaining the very successes you claim to have scored. This is nothing but rhetoric that am sorry to say has become your only success.

  17. What Chanda Mfula is saying is that the PF is progressing. u do not expect problems of 20 years to end in a year. Stop being silly, PF has made headways except the damage by MMD was too much for 20 years fro you to see change in a year. And let’s not be abusive in our comments like the Watchdog insulters.

  18. Developement should not be explained to the beneficiaries, it should felt. So until most Zambians can feel better than today PF will have a problem explaining. This is the same problem MMD had when they were explaining economic indicators and the achievement of medium developing country status. This why towards the end they started doing what they should have in twenty years such as building schools, hospitals and roads but as the 2011 results showed it was too late. I hope PF won’t leave it too late as well

  19. Forget about your chipimo. What is wrong with you guys!!!!!!! Eish!!! What has Chipimo done to warrant a vote? His only qualification is that of coming from a certain part of Zambia. Would you have said the same if Chipimo hailed from, say N/western, Western, Southern or Eastern Provinces??? He travelled with Ukwa to Brazil and commented that those accusing Sata of not developing Zed are not being fair considering the short tym Pa Fyamba has been in power. What makes him special today. Supposing it was HH that had agreed to accompany Ukwa on the same trip, what would have been your comment? In our heart of hearts we all have come to realise that it is not good to experiment with leadership. Whatever our tribe, I think HH or Miyanda are the best guys for that position and not your Chipimo

  20. Our job is to deliver to the people of Zambia, we not spend time squbbling with frustrated politicians like Hakainde, who have no constituency. Southern Province has now realised that HH does not mean well to the people of Southern Province. This was dermonstrated by the deligation that visited me yesterday from Chief Mwanza in Monze east to offer their solidality in support of President Sata and his Government.

    • leave HH out of your failures!!! do you sleep bali hh.. JUSt deliver as per your fake promises or stop campaining for HH….

  21. PF govt. grow the economy by inroducing a good industrial labour relations act designed to uplift Zambians from abject poverty in a very flexible manner. It follows that both the employers and employees have to be flexible in order to increase output production and this can be achieved in a number of strict professional ways. Make a worker happy because a satisfied employee increases production than ordinarily would have been, and balance the equation by making sure that capital is also allowed to benefit from the huge surplus brought about as result of huge profits. Such an act results in huge constant revenue for the govt. Progress is driven by a happy private sector not by politicians.

  22. Preach flexibility in all aspects of the corporate sector in Zambia, in fact incuding all govt. activities. Flexibility is the most efficient way to develop a country in that jobs opportunities are created massively in which case the previously unemployed benefit as well as their dependants. On the other hand, the govt. and employers enjoy huge benefits. The country’s profile tremendously improves and investors’confidence is enhenced. There are so many examples which serve as proof of this approach e.g South Afrbica, Brazil, India, China etc. Do not jump the gun by implementing the minimum wage policy prior to the above proposal.

  23. SATA HAS FAILED THE ZAMBIANS ..HE PROMISED THE YOUTHS MORE JOBS…HE LIED FARMERS …PF IS FAILING GOVT…THE PRESIDENT CAN NOT TALK..SHAMEEE MR. SATA

  24. One year is a helluva long time to still keep us in the dark about whatever economic policies are supposed to take us till next election day. The president is inept and has no idea how to operate on a strategic level. Thats why he is comfortable patrolling the kitchens at state house coz thats the level where he can make clear and concise decisions. “Today I want more green pepper in the beans, not like yesterday!’ The sooner this fact is accepted by tuma blind PF followers, the better. Some of us were good enough to give him the benefit of the doubt, hoping he and his ministers were holed up somewhere, planning stuff but it doesnt take a blind man to see that everyone in govt is doing their own thing which is quite sad.

  25. I AM FROM JAIL RECENTLY,,,I HAVE TO SUPPORT GENIUNE LEADERS NOT PF WHICH ALWAYS CHEATING THE POOR ,,,IAM FOR THE YOUNG LEADERS NOT SATA WHO IS SO TIRED,,HE NEDDS REST SURE…VIVA THE OPPOSITION..YOU WILL BE IN STATE SOON.

  26. So most bloggers here are so stupid and foolish that they can’t see the the good the PF & Sata have done so far??

  27. The performances for UPND and PF are a result of HH and Sata respectively. MMD’s performances are not as a result of Nevers. Who then needs advice based on poor performance trend in three straight election?
                2001       2005      2008      2011
    UPND:  26.76%  25.32% 19.70%  18.17%
    MMD:    28.69%  42.98%  40.09%  35.42%
    PF:         3.35%  29.37%  38.13%  41.98%
For sure HH needs advice, advise to improve his party’s performance. How must he do it?
    (A) No arrogance, no bitterness, no tribal tag, no hooliganism, no rhetoric for the sake of it, no unnecessary negative campaigns against others especially PF.
    (B) Winning hearts and minds of the electorate in all provinces, positive campaigns, respect for opponents.

    • This is what we keep saying..PF only good at politicking, when it come to governance they seem clueless. For PF winning the election was their ultimate goal, CNP for sure.

  28. Mwananfumu..you are a sell out pf carder..PF and SATA have terrible failed the country’s developmen…we need proper leaders..SATA is a lier…a failurer…a tired political leader…viva the youths the country’s leadership needs new generations…viva the opposition…God be with you.

  29. Look who is talking? Mr Mfula and Mr Kabwe two piglets from the ‘chosen race’ speaking about achievements of the tribal government of the Pathetic Failures party. This pair are certainly satisfied with the achievements of Ukwa their tribal warlord. Who wouldn’t if you are a beneficiary of nepotism, tribalism and corruption.

  30. Ba Kabwe, you failed to run your business and now wants to eat from politics. Shame on you… PF has lamentably failed and there is no need of supporting them.

  31. Without commenting much on the PF’s director of media and publicity Chanda Mfula, I can see that the honeymoon is over and they are feeling the heat. Their allies the catholics, the other churches, the Oasis forum, the LAZ, Grillo, Suzanne Matale, have all woken from their hypnotised sleep and suddenly come to their senses. No matter what they say to defend themselves from the indefensible, no one cares to listen because theirs was deception at its worst. If you want people to listen to you, poor Mfula I pity you, tell us what happened to the 90 days promises, tell how more more money in our pockets has now been translated into more money in the pockets of people who are already rich and that are supposed to take us out of poverty.

  32. Maybe these pictures were exciting to some people at that time but now all of us see drunkenness in these cadres.

  33. There are only two people in the world – those who see the Glass as Half Full and those who see the Glass as Half Empty. Which one are you? Your perception of life determines the level of your enjoyment of it. There is never perfection in the world – reason for which we will one day die and the PF will leave power. Better to the best with what you have…!

  34. #34 Mr.HAMIYANZE ,I pray you live long enough to see the works of Africa’s greatest leader, HE Micheal Chilufya Sata.

  35. Hahahah No 41

No amount of praise of an emperor without clothes will make him not look naked….

If you were wise you would run to buy him some clothes..

  36. Yes Bembas can vote for Chipimo (as we have now come to know them,”tribal”) and divide the bemba vote. For us ( NWestern/Western/Southern and part of Central, We are done with Bembas (and I am Luvale). What qualifies Chipimo when others with similar experience were called ‘under-fives’. Thanks for Sata, you have opened our eyes of how SELFISH AND TRIBAL you are.
BUT thank GOD you wont fool us again.

  37. May God bless H.E Mr Sata so he rules with wisdom and knowledge. I also pray for HH that he cools down so he strategises well for 2016. May the name of God be blessed ..amen.

  38. #48..Mwanamfumu,,Pls know that your SATA and PF,,are liers,,,SATA IS VERY TRIBALIST…check the cabinet,,just his uncles and nephews..Miles Sampa…pls can you point what YOUR SATA HAS DONE SO FAR…apart from giving themselves huge salary increase.. SATA is very selfish,,very greed…and corrupt regim

  39. What Sata,Mr Ukwa has achieved so far is to employ his relatives and kick away all other tribes from diplomatic posts and fill them up with only Bembas.Ukwa calls it Bemba power but fails to see the danger associated with it.

  40. Truth hates and Mwanamfumu are not real Zambians…very fake chaps..you are going no where…no where pls your SATA IS A TYPICAL FAILURER…HE IS TOO SLEEPY…HE CAN’T TALK ON ISSUES EFFECTING THE MAJORITY POOR ZAMBIANS..SATA WAWAAAA…SATA ZWAAAAAA

  41. Bed linnen, drugs, name them are still issues in the hospitals staring at Cycle Mata Chilufyanya waiting for an answer.PF boasted at inauguration day that within 90 days the country was giong to be turned upside-down,alas defensive stories started coming. So when people say CNP they mean what they say.Dont cover shit with another shit. Instead of kneeling down thanking voters for voting you guys begin kneeling down to the zambians and appologise for the lies and people will forgive you.

  42. There are reasons why he is being insulted by the general public, until he deals with our issues we will continue insulting him just like he did when he was in opposition

  43. Ba Jean u ave neglected the pipo of garden indeed,we nid a clinic & police post there is a big space at garden Bus Station.4sure the population has trippled hence the pipo wo put u in parliament nid developmentin garden,Mr.Prould has owez advised you about development in garden but u ave turned ablind ear, pls ba MP 2016 is very near or u will give it to Mr.Prould

  44. The best Mfula could have said is to allow Zambians to give this governement time to implement their party programmes or manifesto than the nonsence he is subjecting us to as though he is talking to kids. or else quote statistics of how many now are accessing free health care as compared to the time of MMD or unip, how many youths are employed now in the last ten months, how many roads have been constructed apart from those inherited etc.

  45. Chanda Mfula you are very StuPi.D…..”PF says Zambians should instead continue supporting President Sata and his administration to build on the successes achieved so far” Which success? employing Bembas and relatives, You monkeys are packing in 5 year time. Your day are numbered.

  46. It does not make sense to have House without a Toilet for 5yrs where do you answer the call of nature defeating the purpose of keep lusaka or garden clean campaign,it is part and parcel for any community to have social amenities like Clinic and Police it is must in a growing population like Garden, trully there is enough space for the clinic, there were they sell Building Sand and Riversand also there were they sell Charcoal there good space for the Police post,Mama MP,Jean Kapata are you waiting for something bad to happen thats when you act,pls try to listern to Mr. Prould of Garden sometimes on the Radio programs

  47. Mr.HAMIYANZE ,Any sane person is able to see what PF is doing, for the good of our beloved mother Zambia,no need for me waste time listing them.. Ok you need a glass of water apa nomba, mwachula sana nomutima boss. SATA & PF are here to stay,to clean up the mess you left with your MMD relatives ! Your heart, your mind, your soul and just your entire world is full of hate, full of pain,a sadist you are. Muleyako naku church ooooh sorry maybe you are a Buddhist.

MY PRAYER IS THAT YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE THE GOOD WORKS OF AFRICA’S GREATEST LEADER EVER,HE MICHEAL CHILUFYA SATA.

  48. They really don’t need anyone’s help in undermining themselves, what with Kidnapping & deporting priests; Amos threatening the press etc etc!!!

  49. I thought it is just eight months. Running a Country is different to running a party. Lets give them three years and see what they will achieve. At the moment PF can not start singing any achievement song in my own view. There are still cleaning up the house.

  50. Mwanamfumu…very useless and very dull PF carder…we need proper youthful leaders ..SATA IS FULL OF FAILURERS,,,KACHEPAA..ZWAAAAA

  51. This chap has really struggled to tell us the achievements that the PF government has scored so far. That tells you something – that nothing has been achieved. Let the opposition continue working. It is foolish to think that everyone will be singing songs of praise for the PF just because they are in govt. Far from it; instead we have put you under the microscope and we shall never cease critising you. Brace for more criticism.

  52. I do believe all of the ideas you have introduced on your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very brief for newbies. May you please lengthen them a little from next time? Thank you for the post.
