Don’t take people for granted PF government advised

Share

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has advised the Patriotic Front government not to take citizens for granted whenever asked to disclose how much is used on a particular national program.

CSPR Board Chairperson Partner Siabutuba said delays in the communication on such matters creates room for misinterpretation or misunderstanding.

Speaking to QFM, Mr. Siabutuba said government does not need to make the announcement when resources are readily available but that it can announce the budget even without resources being available.

He said it is surprising why it took so much time for government to disclose the budget for the technical committee drafting the country’s constitution.

Mr. Siabutuba however stated that the announcement of the budget has been received with gratitude.

He also noted that the lack of a legal frame work to support the constitution making process makes it difficult to determine whether there will be a good document at the end of the process or not.

Mr. Siabutuba said CSPR appreciates the efforts government is making towards the process but stated that the greatest concern is the number of gaps that continue to exist in the constitution making process.

    • A break for what? people who thinks and speaks like you dont have thorough understanding of GRZ. May be the best way is to just keep quite if you have no ideas

    • Give them a break? Who is molding these retards? They need fire under their butts. Keep them working. That’s your damn responsibility. The choice to go into politics is voluntary but the perks are high. Thats why you see all these good-for-nothing never-do-wells like Masumba driving big vehicles.

  1. “PATIENCE IS A GOOD TEACHER OF DEAD STUDENTS” Zambian have waited enough, campaign promises need to be delivered. More medicines, better hospitals, more money, less taxes etc…
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits and is easily corrected. It blames nobody nor gives excuses. It believes in It’s intuition as a gift for solutions..
The significant problems Zambia faces today cannot be solved by the same LEVEL of thinking that created them in UNIP and the MMD in which SATA was deeply baptized.Such minds of blame, excuses, and silencing progressive , revolutionary minds have failed Zambians painfully. Look at the township roads and drainage Sata being Local govt minister before must know better. Look at the slums and ghettos tthat kill them

To transform and build a nation,A VISION REQUIRED and A MARSHALL PLAN FOR ECONOMIC&DEVELOPMENT. PF must go for a one week retreat- come up with the MULUNGUSHI PF DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND REFORMS in-lieu of the national budget soon ,built on an improved version of the Vision2030 and beyond. Great Minds have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds but their courage and vision changed the world. What’s PF’ marshal plan and vision for Zambia2030 and beyond?
Work hard, more actions less rhetoric is the only option! Free consultancy from: “issue based, never insult,an eye of patriotism”

  2. #1 Why give them a break??? “If they can’t stand the heat in the kitchen, they should leave!!”
Being in govt is not a holiday! It is an excuse given by so many govts to be given time – MOSTLY TIME TO EMPTY THE COFFERS!!! Talk of judge Chikopo!! With Sakeni asking us not to worry about our money! The K18Bn gang trying to fleece the national treasury!! Try to have self introspection before being so condescending!!!

    • Truedat. Imagine Sakeni’s arrogance over the Chikopo issue! You would easily think the ***** is using money from his mother’s coffers. Meanwhile the less fortunate are starving in the rural areas and within Lusaka itself. These fools are paying somebody for just farting in his hotel room. And you say give them a break? The fool has forgotten who put him into this position.

  3. These people got used to MMD that never listened; was pompous, and utter arrogant at anything. The PF is different; when you say they react; meaning they are listening. Even the president reacts when he reads too much tension. They have produced a budget; now you see them still condenming the government. Its a case of you are damned if you and damned if you don’t. What a country!!

    • Listening? You mean like how PF and its sycophantic supporters only have insults for Dr. Moyo, advising her to “get her facts right” while offering no facts of their own? Is that what you call listening?

    • So you expected the PF government to say “thanks Dr Moyo” for your fantastic lecture and condemnation of our economci strategy? Is that what you call listening? She said what she said, and PF has to say what they want; we have no control over that. Mate, there are many professionals that would want to say many things, ask Prof Chirwa. If you want to be a good professional, never say things that hurt others in public expecially when they cannot defend themselves. She said the correct things using a wrong forum. But still, they listened, and responded. now, fulwa tulwe!!

  4. You can easily see people who just comment without thinking. This is our gvt and we are entitled to question their actions.Whose resources are being used to pay Chikopa? All citizens want Chikopa to go while gvt hasnt listened to us.Isnt it taking us for granted?Any gvt must do what the people want it to do..

  5. BA SATA HAS FAILED THE PEOPLE IN MANY AREAS OF THE ECONOMY,,,SO MR.SATA IS A TYPICAL FAILURER IN THE WORLD….NO PLANS FOR THE COUNTRY’S DEVELOPMENT

  6. SATA can do better, Zambia can arise, only some changes needed. Urgently don’t waste time and money, suspend this Sir Roy Welensky constitution, enact and replace it with a NEW DEMOCRATIC CONSTITUTION ,founded on the philosophy: FREEDOMS,RIGHTS,RESPECT AND DIGNITY for all citizens. The old has done enough damage as witnessed. Secondly:
To transform and build a nation,A VISION REQUIRED and A MARSHALL PLAN FOR ECONOMIC&DEVELOPMENT. PF must go for a one week retreat- come up with the MULUNGUSHI PF DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND REFORMS in-lieu of the national budget soon ,built on an improved version of the Vision2030 and beyond. Great Minds have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds but their courage and vision changed the world. What’s PF’ marshal plan for Zambia2030+

    • satana cant do better, why? bcoz bu G7,is being lead by other government official.so king cobra is jst a follower,he become a president jst becoz of talkertive.now wer money is concen we have to ask becoz it’s our taxt money, expecially us miners we do suffer for this money, elyo iwe kaponya tawaingilapo napa mine elyo ulenda i fyabupuba.

  7. A nation will never develop in a year or so…..there were a number of things that where destroyed by the previous governmnets and this government is as at now mending those issues. If anyone one thinks the Governemt will find jobs, put up tared roads, build sky scrappers, build schools, build hospitals etc in one year then you are cheating yourself.Even if we were to put you there (as a president) you cant do that in that period.

  8. Why cant we be given reasons why Chikopa is still in the country,Why is Sata and his minions quite about it,this is one of the issues they are supposed to respond, but only exert energies responding to people giving personal opinions of the economy-malabishi.

  9. @9 iam very very dispointed with u….why using Kabompo?…hv u ever visted Kabompo before? leave Kabompo alone,,,,,you sliy

    • @MIZ: Be issue based, challenge thot, challenge ideals! will not insult , different ,change mindset

  10. wat do u expect he was a begger last week today u give him the highest post in the nation, so he wants to steal enough for himself..besides he is beyond the expiry date or below net book value
i.e he is obsolete and overdue for write off.

  11. and the malawian court messenger is just eating and shitting in zambia..u r jst silent, zambia is a stupid nation da whole world.

  12. Siabutuba, Dr. Dambisa Moyo etc, I hope intellectuals and professionals will strive to avoid being seen as not objective and therefore be misunderstood!!

  13. @10. TRUE. But you need a plan. Unfortunately this is beyond this clueless, nepotistic and tribal pf government. Zambia is not going anywhere with a fossil at the helm. The canoe is not ‘water worthy’. The chief paddler is hopeless and clueless.

  14. people have realised they made a mistake to have these guys into office..let’s work for change..!we want real change now!!

    • where you not there when there was a revolution on 20th september 2011? When the kids shouted and i quote”we want change”!! Where were you when we were watching an old man crying like was reaching orgazm kapaiche? anyway visit ZWD where there is always an imaginary revolution.

  15. Inftact PF has taken people for granted too early in their term of office! At least MMD didn’t do that in the first five years! They listened to people’s concerns. Not what we are geting now! Can you imagine a minister telling people not to query about their money being spent on a useless malawian judge staying in a five start hotel! Fviev years looks like forever now!

    • Just cos you are enjoying cos of some relations with govnment officials doesnt make you tell u to keep quite.

foolish boot licker.we shall talk untill zambia gets saved.

  16. Petty politics will not take this country anywhere! # 9 Kapombo Yami vision2030+….. , I concur with you that we should quickly enact the new constitution which will mirror our aspirations, values and cultures as a people and not what was coined by our colonial masters that we have amended piece meal thorough the 48 years of self rule. The PF government has to start showing their resolute to resolve the peoples problems. Our economy is still stable enough for us to have positive progress even in the times of economic melt down in the EU. Judge Chikopa should be sent back until the courts rule on the sittin g of the tribunal.

  17. From some comments above, it is clear that some people are so used to and content with mediocre leadership. Accountability to citizens is a continuous process for a sitting government. If they sit back, those asking us to ‘give the GRZ a break’ will only help the GRZ to get out of government. Because there are many different needs from different sections of society, the demand for different needs will and should continue. The GRZ should always aim higher and not be comforted by useless people who are happy to receive a 25kg of free mealie meal at a campaign meeting and be hungry for 5 years. Let all citizens wake up to the reality that things will not come on a silver plate, you have to demand for them.

  18. Zambia is turning into something else.Dambisa says this defence follows,CSPR says this time is still a factor to many, why remember 90 days of what?when sworn in the president mentioned 90 days more than thrice. When a problem is identified, deal with it head on.where are we as ZAMBIA.

  19. Mwanamfumu…useless and mad carder…PF is a failurer leader in Africa….has failed to create jobs for the youths…no more jobs….people are loosing jobs everyday….so there are sufferings in our midist…SATA IS A TYPICAL LIER AND FAILUTURER

  20. some of you bloggers are jast opposition cadres, you are in a pipe dream. Whatever you do, let the govnment work and not jast be yapping in the name of speaking for zambians. Which zambians are you  of?  we are behind our president and those of you talking of judge chikopa, he was given a job in govnt by an appointment letter.ask civil servants when you are appointed and sworn in its not jast you wake up and say the job is over. I think sata is doing fine. Cant be compared to some other govnts in africa.keep up the good works mr. President and your govnt

  21. Hey guys, the point is that PF doesnt care about any one. You can talk for all you care but they will not listen to you. Do know why SATA has never held a press conference in the last 11 months? Do you know why SATA has stopped talking to the press, even at the airport? It is because Zambians are no longer important. The PF are in power and that is what counts. So dont cry too much.

  22. It is clear that old age is the stumbling block in Sata’s governance. Mr Sata fails to connect with trends of today’s governance regime applying in most developed and developing countries. Abet Mr Sata can not tweet, blog or instant messaging is alien to him. Granted, need not to blame him as he is too old for these modern means of comms. However, Zambia is lagging behind with such an old fashioned presdo and yet others believe Sata is developing Zambia when its only 3 wks ago he was lambasting his ministers for not developing the country. This leaves many questions about competency of governance in Sata. A big lesson for Zambians and next time round lets know who is seeking political office.

  23. pf can not be different from mmd when right people like guy scott, lubinda, emmanuel chenda, simuusa have been side lined, if anything the quality of mmd ministers was better than jokers like gbm, edgar lungu,,shamenda, mwaliteta, sakeni e.t.c i mean the guys cant march the likes of mutati, kabinga mpande, kalombo mwansa, chituwo, situmbeko, namugala e.t.c for heaven’s sake you mean the security of the country can be in hands of gbm.
