Mwandi MP Michael Kaingu has been elected MMD Vice President for Politics.
And Mumbwa MP Dr. Brian Chituwo went through unopposed as Vice President for Administration.
This is according to results of the elections conducted today during a NEC meeting held at the MMD Secretariat in Lusaka.
Dr. Kaingu amassed 26 votes while his closest rival Muhabi Lungu got 11 and Lucky Mulusa was in distant third with 3 votes.
Kabinga Pande is the new National Chairman while Brad ford Machila was elected Chairman Legal.
Dr Cannissus Banda took the portfolio of Chairman for health while Faustina Sinyangwe was elected Chairperson for labour and Elizabeth Chitika scooped the position of Chairperson for Arts.
Newton Samakayo was elected Chairperson for local government.
And the MMD will on Thursday unveil what they are calling a rebranded MMD with a new slogan, the hour has come for new hope at a ceremony to be held in Lusaka.

So these are the chaps that are now going to take the party into serious extinction now. The people in the forefront lack charisma to steer the party forward. Actually, I would argue that the ideology should have come first. The ideology should have been robust enough to repel any concerns about going back to MMD’s corrupt ways. It should have given a Vision of a future which Zambia should aspire to go, vis-à -vis creation of jobs and means of substance without Urban drift. Mind you, 60% of votes come from the Rural areas. Here in UK I am surrounded by the results of that kind of vision.  (General Godfrey Miyanda of Heritage Party called it Village conept. I submit that it would be beneficial to my Country Zambia to have an MMD-Heritage link in that regard. Let’s think outside the box and for the greater good of our Country). Then …

Imagine someone depositing Local government Ministry money in his personal bank account! This is the same person who withdrew K2billion from a National Assembly account. This money has never been accounted for. Let all the criminals who were in the MMD between 1991-2001 all answer for their crimes. Just in case UPND thought they are going to have it easy. Here MMD comes back with a full force. Remember MMD appeals to more areas than up and down party full of hungry hyenas. I have always said it time and again that UPND is number 3 and not number 2 as they would like to over rate themselves. The number 2 party in Zambia is MMD and PF is number 1. So UPND has to beat MMD first and then PF before it can think of making president in Zambia. Therefore UPND will not rule unless they change the hungry hyena. It is upto upnd anyway.

Thats the way to go MMD. Even as you are rebranding please avoid recklessness and over zealousnnes . Modern Politics demands strategising. You have the brains, the manpower necessary to propell you back into power. Continue fine-tuning yourselves against the existing socio-economic political environment. You are by far better than PF, which is a one-man commando ! Now form specialised units to respond to the specific challenges confronting the country. Commend PF where they do better but HAMMER them where they faulter. The Zambian voter is maturing, though marginally, but s/he knows who is bitter and who is genuine. You are mature, please don’t let your strengths and opportunities slip through your hands. Nevers don’t get too exited nor too nervous. The ball is your court. Play it well
