PF Government Must Halt Incitement of Violence and Uphold Unity- CDDR(video included)

Share

Following the tragic death of one man and subsequent riots prompting the postponement of the Livingstone by-election, the Coalition for the Defence of Democratic Rights (CDDR) is calling upon the Patriotic Front government of President Michael Sata to stop its reckless manipulation of violence and show greater responsibility to uphold unity in the country.

The CDDR finds it unfortunate that in a moment of dangerous turmoil that the ruling party chose not pursue dialogue and peace, but instead began assigning blame toward political opponents before allowing for an investigation and due process of the law. The CDDR denounces the fact that 13 prisoners continue to be held under politically motivated charges, some carrying the death sentence, while the state-owned media has heightened tensions between ethnic groups by issuing false, prevocational reports.

In the report presented to the Commonwealth on February 12, the CDDR warned that the PF government had exhibited a dangerous history of violence, including but not limited to orders given by President Sata to the Armed Forces to fire upon citizens in Western Province, as well as numerous incidences of sending cadre militias to threaten and intimidate voters.

In support of these allegations, the CDDR has released a new video containing recordings of President Sata’s orders to the military, along with past instances of Minister of Justice Wynter Kabimba urging cadres to engage in violence, as well as the aggravated assault against a former PF member by Judge Ngoma and others. As noted in the report, one of President Sata’s first acts as president was to release Mr. Ngoma, a convicted felon, from jail despite having perpetrated these violent acts.

The CDDR shall continue to document violations of civil and human rights in Zambia and present findings to international bodies in order to urge international action and bring about a return accountability and the rule of law.

More information on the CDDR’s activities and the full copy of the Commonwealth Report can be read at http://cddr-zambia.org.

  1. OMG that video is incriminating against PF.How can PF leaders talk like that? We are Zambians first lets all remember that.Whether Lozi ,Bemba,Tonga,Kaonde,Tumbuka or Chewa ,we are Zambians and this is the only country we shall have.Lets not kill each other.PF Basop

    • these tu ma organisations are sponsered, there is nothing tribal about this speech. as a comander in chief he cannot allow a few clique of human beings maquerading as a bra in our country.

    • Chanda Chimbwi tried the same trick and lamentably failed. Zambians are not dull people neither is the commonwealth. Continue wasting your energy and time 2016 is near and don’t run to the UN when you are walloped.

    • Its too late, UN and the Hague have got the video already, they working on a international court for your PF leaders. What a bunch of thugs.

    • How do i believe that this is the president speaking? provide video with him openning his mouth, anyone can talk, even opposition cadres can pretend to be pf cadre with todays advanced technology anything is possible, so i dont think this holds any water!

    • John katobele, respect women you have a mother too, if you dont you had once, as for that voice, they are people gifted to immitate someone you wouldnt tell the difference.

    • @ Kakolwe, thankx, some of these people have no idea what they are doing, just apploading this video on this public forum alone is criminal, cos it will stear peoples emotions and divide us further, i really dont understand what these guys are doing, honestly speaking this video is telling people to take sides and is preaching more hate leading to more instability of the zambian people, it is going to instill fear in all of us, our economy will be affected, every bussiness will be affected, really am so shocked that someone thought it a good idea to bring it here, why destroy your country just to help someone get to plot one? Lets build our country people.

  2. Very chilling messages from influencial folks .Zambia needs hate speech legislation a.s.a.p otherwise you ‘ll see the same type of tribal inferno that engulfed kenya reach zambia.I just don’t see nor hear anything resembling rule of law here as the guys just display primordial village mentality and a “might makes right” extremism.

    • @ Enka Rasha, now you start to understand some of us who blame you people who shouted for Barrabas. I just feel pit to members of that NGO, they stepped on the snake’s tail again.

    • Chizungu baba, “you dont feel pit for someone, you feel pity” and you claim to be the most educated UPND Chaps

  3. mwasoba votuma pa internet, these videos were from rallys in 2011 prior to the elections. shame shame, pf was not in govrnment that time

    • Chanda Chimbwi tried the same trick and lamentably failed. Zambians are not dull people neither is the commonwealth. Continue wasting your energy and time 2016 is near and don’t run to the UN when you are walloped.

    • @ka kolwe,, chanda chimba, did not fail, people failed to listen, now he has been proved right, alot of people are now seeing sense in what he (chimba) was talking about.

    • @ka kolwe,,,,, dreams are for free indeed Landslide in 2016.

I can tell you one other thing for free, sata will be dead before 2016 and PF will be in pieces,,, president GBM, president kabimba..etc

  4. In the light of compelling evidence of various criminal acts committed/or intended to be committed/or showed malicious intent by the PF members or its affiliates, they is no defence which the current Zambian government can raise in response to the overwhelming evidence. The Zambian government has prematurely attempted to manufacture what some might refer to as desperate moves made in the eleventh hour without weighing the costs and benefits of such embarrassing actions. For example, the orchestration of a murderous act in the tourist capital of Zambia and the running battles which followed thereafter.
The involvement of Sata and his lieutenants in turnng the peacefull situation in Zambia on its head, is a matter which has been raised by the opposition in its reports to the Commonwealth.

  5. There is a reckless order of President Sata in this video. A head of state ordering national army recruits to go train firing guns on our Malozi brothers and sisters is not only appalling, but a directly self implicating evidence material. No leader with 5 senses can be this reckless in an open Global society. This statement is an indictment that Zambia has a clear and present danger of a president in Nkwazi house with a mind long resigned from his struggling body.

  6. U MUST B VERY DULL U LIERS. HAVE WE 4GOTTEN HOW MMD BHAVED TOWARD PF AND ANY ODER PERSON WITH DIVENGENT VIEWS? U MUST B CROOKS DAT DON’T DESERVE 2 B IN DE CORRIDORS OF OUR NATIONAL LEADERSHIP. 0 BECOZ OF HATRED 4 SATA? DEMONS.WE’RE NOT GULLIBLE.

  7. a dialogue is vital .when elephants fight, grass and small trees suffer most .in this country a war between political parties will take us backwards .There is nothing to fight when innocent citizens are still langushing in poverty.let political parties find a nuetral platfortform for dialogue.

  8. CDDR is hopeless why didn’t they show commonwealth video of william Banda and his thugs assaulting people in chongwe with pangas in full view of police? or RBs police killing people in western province? State media is acting more sober than during the MMD reign…………

  9. WHICH PARTY IS HEAD OF CDDR BELONG TO?

THE VIDEO IS CLEARLY ONE SIDED.

IT DOES NOT SHOW THE FACE OF HIS PAY MASTER, HH, IN WHICH HE DEFENDED THE ILLEGAL ACTS OF MAPATISHA. I WAS ADDRESSING PARTY CADRES AND SO WAS HH. NEITHER DOES IT SHOW POLICE RECENT VIDEO OF HH URGING HIS CADRES TO ATTACK ANY PF VEHICLE WHICH PASSED NEAR HIS CAMP IN LIVINGSTONE. WHERE IS HH FACE IN THE VIDEO?

  10. UPND is paying for violence & bitterness! we shall see if Commonwealth will protect you now….there are no shortcuts to life & to being in power…..being rich is not a pre-requisite to leadership, Romney is far richer than Obama but still lost the election & accepted defeat….as simple as that!

  11. A VERY SERIOUS ETHNIC WAR WILL SOON BREAK BETWEEN BEMBAS AND THE TONGAS, AND THE REST OF OTHER TRIBES WILL HAVE TO ALIGN THEMSELVES EITHER WITH THE TONGS OR THE BEMBAS, BUT I FORE SEE ALMOST ALL OF THEM ALIGNING THEMSELVES TO THE TONGAS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL BEEN DISADVANTAGED BY THIS SEGREGATIVE BEMBA PRESIDENT. BEMBAS THINK THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO SHOULD RULE ZAMBIA. TONGAS AND ALL OTHER TRIBES IN ZAMBIA ARE SAYING BEMBAS ARE NOT THE ONLY ZAMBIANS WITH A RIGHT TO GOVERN THE COUNTRY. ANY OTHER PERSON FROM ANY TRIBE IN ZAMBIA HAS THE RIGHT TO BE GIVEN A POLITICAL PLATFORM TO PROVE THEIR COMMITMENT IN PROVIDING QUALITY LEADERSHIP THAT ZAMBIA IS CURRENTLY DEVOID OF. BEMBAS WANT TO DOMINATE THE POLITICS OF OUR LAND, THAT’S WHY SATA IS NOT SLEEPING BECAUSE OF HH AND UPND.

    • Just Convince zambians to vote for you. Which ethnic violence? That Just exist in your head and that of HH the Freemason( SATANIST), Watchdog and Armsterdam

    • @Truth. YOU ARE NOT BEING FAIR WITH YOURSELF. WHEN DID YOU CONDUCT A NATIONAL SURVEY FOR YOU TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF 72 TRIBES OF ZAMBIA AND HOW THEY CAN ALIGN THEMSELVES? THAT IS WHAT IS CALLED INFERIORITY COMPLEX. KK WAS FROM MALAWI, CHILUBA FROM DRC(LUAPULA), LPM FROM CENTRAL PROVINCE, BANDA FROM EASTERN PROVINCE, SATA (BISA) FROM NP. NO BEMBA APART FROM SATA HAS RULED THIS COUNTRY. IF YOU TALK ABOUT ALIGNMENTS, I THINK YOU CAN TELL FROM THE BYE ELECTIONS HOW PEOPLE ARE ALIGNING THEMSELVES WITH THE PF. EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO GOVERN ZAMBIA. BUT YOU HAVE TO USE THE RIGHT CHANNELS. YOU HAVE TO CAMPAIGN AND PERSUADE VOTERS FROM ALL TRIBES TO VOTE FOR YOU. YOU DONT JUST SAY VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I AM TONGA AND I HAVE THE RIGHT TO RULE AS WELL. NO MY FRIEND. THATS A TRIBAL CAMPAIG.

  12. Sata is looking forward to a time when Bembas will be directly clashing with Tongas even in the streets. That time is coming soon. Tongas are ready for such a moment. Tongas are fighters while Bembas are cowards. We shall fight the Bembas and stop this stupid Bemba dominance. You can’t suppress us.Ethnic tensions in the country are increasing indeed because of this ugly monster called Sata. Abash Bemba dominance. Abash Bembas. Abash Sata!

    • If we keep talking like we’re it’ll soon be Tutsis vs Hutus, kikuyu vs Luo type of ethnic war.The flames we saw in Rwanda and Kenya were not just fueled by leaders but also by ordinary folks with inflamatory rhetoric

    • go back to your village muchinda ng’ombe iwe….why come here to preach hate! kwati pali naba Tonga, ugly looking chaps with no class…you chaps must have originated from Bance of Burkinafo’s village! we can’t put you in power because you are too pompous….muzachiona!

  13. I remember complaining about Kabimba’s statement in during the counting of elections. To be sure they triggered riots on the Copperbelt. I have never seen this man to be a responsible leader and my worries have now been proven right. Remember Zambia, this man was never voted for by a single citizen of this land other than the president which I find to be a shame. He has been given positions of great power in both his party and our country yet no single member or citizen asked for his direction (he is no leader). The country deserves an elected official to do the job he is obviously failing to do.
    Stay easy Zed

  14. No one voted for Kabimba so he owes no single citizen a single thing save for his appointing power. In comparison to his colleges such as Lubinda, Luo, Chikwanda, Kasonde, and Sichinga. He is a far cry from a credible individual. Zambia is turning 50 next year and we won’t have a new constitution, HIS #1 PRIORITY- he has failed to deliver, and I say he should be fired.

  15. Zambians let,s be careful with how these bembas want 2 dominate everything in our country.if u carefully look at all good posts in our country, all are occupied by bembas and u know what when it comes 2 stealing bembas are bad news bcoz that is part of there game.what it means is u re putting a thief to be yo security guard.the zambian economy has been raped and very soon ,ll have nothing left for our economy.

  16. but it only shows PF wrongs how about one that shows all parties then we will see which is the most violent. The fact is MMD was the culprit with it’s William Banda.

  17. @ ka kolwe you & your master satan are fools. Fools wont stop their foolish way even after been adviced so keep up *****

  18. This should also be a lesson for UPND stop the self defense and retaliation strategy as it may be used to implicate you in future. All parties in Zambia need to have cool heads even when provoked greatly.

    • Are you refering to the death of that kolwe called Chanda in Livinstone? So you are not aware that the animal was killed by Mwaliteta and group? You Bembas have realy lost you minds. Anyway, 2016 is near, w’ll teach teach you a lesson!

    • Every tribe has been created and is valuable, equal and precious before God. Stone age jungle politicians should never be allowed to divide a nation and hinder God’s beautiful purpose over a nation.

    • @JJ, how many times have said that? guess since 2001…..you said it 2 times to the Lambas, 2 times to the Ngonis & now to the Bembas! your HH will forever be distant number 3…..in 2016 he may even be no.4, ka Sata kali phee pa statehouse! to borrow Ka Kolwe’s words, just keep on looking after cattle nama tropical…..

  19. To be realistic: When Sata speaks on national issues you say he is not serious and always joking. When he jokes you say he is serious. How many Lozis said “Fa” and wered fired upon in Lukulu. How many said “enisha” and were fired upon? How many were killed in cold blood in Lukulu or killed at all? What is important is what he did not what he said. If we are to bring out all the things presidents say in the world, you will be shocked at how diabolical some statements are. Read the wikileaks. This video is one sided and not peer reviewed, therefore is is useless. Kabimba is talking about self defense. The other guy spoke after William Banda clobbered PF cadres.

    • Iwe choopit. The point is the president openly instructed soldiers to be violent on citizens. I am sure the soldiers have more sense than this thus no violence. Kabimba also spoke of violence. And hitting back can mean reacting to a verbal attack! Why wasn’t he talking about his youth breaking down political discourse and convince their opponents, instead he would rather use a fist, lucky we don’t have pangas all over the show. Sata failed to correct the Barotse situation, instead of dialogue he tells his soldiers to go and shoot them if they make a pip. would they have had to start their recruiting if he had held on to his end of the bargain? Isn’t he the one who was busy talking about justice for those imprisoned by RBs regime and I think there was a com. of inquery.

  20. Enka, Rasha, etal Take note the video is giving the historical character of Michael Sata and his PF propensity of violence. So it begins with violently barring Brigadier General Miyanda, late General Tembo and other original senior MMD members during the Chiluba Third Term crusade where these potential leaders to take over from Chiluba were humiliated by Sata’s violence. Then with Nakawala in Matero violence, all other PF MPs who differed with Sata were ejected from his party and termed them ‘Rebel MPs’. Sata’s violence has continued except that now its subtle under the shield of presidency but this is Sata who most Zambians know him as a violent person. How on earth can Zambia be in the international news as a country that abuses its citizens? Today after being independent for 50…

  21. IN FACT WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WERE POPULAR. NOW THAT THEY HAVE SEEN WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE BYE ELECTIONS, THEY HAVE GONE BACK TO “SATA IS TRIBAL…….BEMBAS HATE TONGAS……ETC.
EVEN THE TONGAS HAVE SEEN THAT UPND CANNOT REPERESENT THEM. UPND IS RIDDING ON THE BACKS OF THE TONGA PEOPLE IN THE PRETEXT THAT BEMBAS ARE BAD. INFACT UPND HAS BROUGHT THE GREAT NAME OF THE TONGAS IN DISREPUTE. I THINK THE CHIEFS OF THE TONGA PEOPLE SHOULD SIT HH DOWN AND TELL HIM THAT HE IS MISREPRESENTING THE TONGAS. PEOPLE ARE NOW FORCET TO LOOK AT TONGAS IN THE LIGHT OF UPND. AND THAT IS UNFORTUNATE. THIS PARTY CA NEVER MOVE INTO STATE HOUSE BECAUSE OF ITS TRIBAL CHARACTER AND IT IS VERY REGIONAL.

    • Quite right there with your observation chisenga, it seems he there is something seriously wrong with him to even forget the basic requirements of a leader. He reminds me of idi Amin, ruthless, canning and care free. He isn’t well that I can assure you

  22. Sata is not the first president nor will he be the last. What legacy will he leave behind for future Zambians?. A one term president (Too sick to do anything), abused Zambians like a colonialist (may be colonials were even better), promoted tribal politics, reported to international bodies of human rights abuse of his own people. Quite a shameful lehacy to leave behind.

  23. Meant ‘Shameful Legacy to leave behind for future generation to remember a leader, even God will have a simple case to ask, “What did you do with my people?”.

  24. Zambia is for all zambians not for some Bembas, Tongas Lozis Namwangas etc, where are the other tribes? how come only Two or Tree tribes are fighting for the salt of this nation? Are these the only inhabitants of this great nation? where are the Cholis, Mambwes, Kaondes, Lalas,Lambas and all the great tribes of mother Zambia that make up our formidable history? where are all you men and women that stand for the pride of our great nation? please dont allow a few useless individuals turn our great nation into a Gradiata arena! we are a third world nation but rich in pride cos of the peace we have enjoyed, please dont let that pride be taken away from us, thats the most huge thing i always boast about when i speak of my country Zambia, please dont take away that from me please am begging you!

    • Plead with your few useless clique as you call them to STOP behaving as if only BEMBAS are Zambians. How can you have a govt full of BEMBAS ONLY with very, very few others from other parts of Zambia? Appeal to your own who have created this devide. As for us non Bembas ours is to sing that Sata PF is tribal, tribal, tribal…..

    • Hey dude, i dont belong to any group, am a Zambian woman with friends and relatives accross all tribal, ethinic, racial lines, so dont involve me in your primitive alliances, i have Tonga relative, lozis bembas Tumbukas, am all Zambian so think twice before you pin point and fight over trivial matters, You are the same people who bring all these problems if i had a way, i would scrap all those tribal inclinations and just let all Zambian be one thing only and that is to be Zambian Unfortunately i cant!

  25. Zambians, lets be carefull with some of these NGOs! Some people are sponsered to bring conflicts! Please, the opposition, stop selling our dignity to outsiders! Respect the law and stay out of trouble! We need peace!!!!!!

    • Peace can be brought about if we have a responsible government that respects Human Rights and the Rule of Law.You cannot expect people to remain silent while their rights are trampled upon. We need NGOs to expose bad governance.

  26. THE INT.COMMUNITY ARE HUMAN BEINGS WHO NOT STUPIDY. DEY CAN GO TO THE WRITINGS ONLINE FOR INSTANCE AND FIND THAT IT IS U ,UPND THAT ARE MORE TRIBALISTIC AND VIOLENT.HOWEVER,THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS TRIUMPHY.U KNOW THAT ON MERITY WINNING IS A PIPE DREAM

  27. For starters, thisorganisation should be called the Coalition of Destruction and the Defence of Rubbish. Even if there were to be human rights abuses, adressing those is not the real purpose of this coalition. Had this been the case, they would have honestly followed and documented the history of political violence, and the violence to which Kabimba and UPND at the time, were responding to. HH always complained about Francis Kabonde, MMD’s police cadre. They would therefore have included the fact that some of the contributors to this coalition were infact violently dictatorial. What Kabimba is talking about there is self defence. If UPND want to say that Mapatizya formula is self defence, then this is self contradictory. Then they also need to be indited, if we follow that line of log

    • ic… On the issue of Barotseland, Rupiah Banda’s MMD’s police shot at, and killed at least two demonstrators and detained dozens of “Lozis”, including a 92 year old man. This is not to justify PF harrassing Lozi people, but to suggest that RB did it to, and it is therefore hypocritical to point at the one and leave out the other. Those early days succeeding the rise of PF to power, ordinary Zambians went around harrassing MMD people. This was not under orders from the PF leadership, but ordinary Zambians who had been frustrated by the MMD of RB, William Banda, Dora Siliya, and others and finaly vented it out. It was Zambian frustration at the abuse of power in MMD’s, especially Rupiah’s time in office.

    • My statements here are not intended to defend PF, but to shed some light on the types of characters who are in this so called CDDR, and to also dissect this propaganda they are showing us, and put it in perspective. All these people never made it a secret that they do not like Sata and the PF, even before they came to power. Many believed that PF could never win an election by itself, so the ruling thieves were comfortable, and the political opportunists thought they would be safe with the incumbent of the time, on the mistaken assumption that the incumbent would retain the presidency. When PF won, however, the ruling thieves realised that they were now at risk of exposure and prosecution. We started finding buried money on farms.

  28. CDDR IS YOUR OPPOSITION’S STRONG ARM! I PAY FOR THEIR ALLOWANCES, AIRFARES AND HOTEL BILLS IN JOHANNESBURG.

  29. CDDR is full of morons, do you think an investigator can be believe your story when you give him an edited version of a video? This is video is clear on one thing, people will go to all lengths to distort the facts and undermine a legitimate government. If you call this evidence, then I can advise to stop smoking whatever you are smoking. Voices can be manipulated and showing stills to emphsise your lies just shows how you underrate Zambian, do you think Zambians are so backwards such that they cannot tell that they are being duped? The MMD tried this tactic with Chimba and and it backfired, have concrete facts not extracts taken out of context when the whole population knows the facts. Show us dead or injured MMD or UPND members not this childish crap, we can tell a fake!

  30. CDDR has done very well to make the Human Rights issue in Zambia topical. PF now know that they have to tread very carefully. This in itself is a major success on the part of CDDR. PF now knows there are people watching and they can no longer act in complete impunity.
