UPND Pemba MP Mutinta Mazoka says she has no intentions of crossing the floor to join the ruling PF.

Mrs. Mazoka told a media briefing in Lusaka today that defecting to the PF would be below her integrity and status.

“I have no intentions of joining the PF, I will however continue working with government officers because these officers are there for all Zambians and Zambians pay taxes to keep these government officers to work for them,” she said.

“People especially those working in the media should be able to differentiate between an MP working with the government on government programmes and those MPs wishing to join the party. I have never considered working with the PF as a party.”

She added, “I therefore challenge my son Brian Hapunda to retract his statements which he made without even checking with me to the effect that I had started working with the PF.”

Mrs. Mazoka said she had invited the Office of the Vice President for check on the hunger situation in Pemba which she considered was her role as MP.

“By associating myself with government officers, I’m not in any way suggesting that I have joined the PF. The media should help break down these perceptions that any MP who is seen to be working with government functionaries has joined the party. The party and the government should be viewed separately.”

  1. All very well crafted sentiments, however, your role in the dictatorial and tribal appointment of HH as party president will never be forgotten. Your husband died with all his reputation, you must earn your own!

  2. Indeed Mrs. Mazoka, you look too respectable to associate with the Munkombwes, Masebos and the like. I like the way you present yourself. Above politics of the belly.

  3. twaumfwa manje use your integrate to take HH to state house madam.twalimichindika because of the late Mr mazoka.

  4. “People especially those working in the media should be able to differentiate between an MP working with the government on government programmes and those MPs wishing to join the party. I have never considered working with the PF as a party.”
Well said madam, but remember you need PF for you to work, you need PF for you to be appreciated by your electorets otherwies your area will be behind. swallow your pride and join PF madm

  5. You are well and blessed, madam, good thinking. Zambians voted PF so better it’s better to respect the government than a defector government.

  6. Mutinta, my God given wife i salute you. That’s the only way to go to be an effective Mp. Never allow yourself to stoop so low as to join those Pf rascals. You are not a sufferer to join PF as those *****s who think with their buttocks than their brains and betrayed the parties and the peoples who put them in Parliament.

  7. That’s true, media at it again. Post feels good to write bad things about HH and UNPD. Watchdog sides with HH and UPND, Lusaka Times balance, Q-FM, Phoenix, Muvi TV, Hot FM, Hone FM, Radio Christian Voice, Sky FM are always factual. I don’t know about Zambezi FM, Mosi-os-Tunya FM, Joy FM, CBC, Mobi, Radio Ichengelo, Radio Mano, Happy World 5FM, UNZA radio and others.

  8. There will be a sudden change in the President’s out look as he is scheduled to undergo a thorough medical and correct the procedure that the Indians started, he is coming back a strong man, made in China!

  9. What status is she talking about? Mazoka died with his status, MHSRIP! Build yours madam!!!! Are you saying PF members are of low status? Mind your language madam!!!!!!

  10. great. way to go. whoever says HH waselected on tibal basis is very dull. where in Zambia have you never seen tribalism?

  11. Mrs Mazoka. even if you did join the PF GOVT there is no problem because H.H. has ruined the UPND party which your dear late husband MR ANDREW MAZOKA had created. PF will be in power for the next 20 years so madam the choice is yours, you can still join PF or continue working with the govt of the day .Wishing you a comfortable life and good health by gods grace.

  12. UPND needs you more than anywhere else. Be bold like you have articulated yourself on working with the PF party to remove the rotten head currently contaminating your party.

How do feel when you look at the free fall, the dwindling political fortunes despite the hard work that your late husband put in culminating in relegating UPND into a regional tribal party! WOW, what a fall!!

Do not let pride overshadow the tough and hard decisions that must be made to stem the profuse political hemorrhage UPND is experiencing to get it out of the self induced comatose state.

The country needs well organized opposition parties and not the rag-tag we currently have.
    The choice is yours

  13. Politics of a short woman! You are just a secretary by profession and managed to be an MP using the Mazoka name. What is your status Mutinta? Mazoka had a beautiful, educated American woman as his first wife. You were the second wife, secondary in everyway. Luckily for you Mazoka died because you would be the former wife by this time. Politics of poverty at Kumalende Farm speaking! Fred Mmembe, your son in law is PF……….time will tell!

  15. you are a true woman of integrity mama. continue working with the government to bring development to your contituency.kip it up!

  16. Bana Mazoka mayo, you have no status now, so working with PF may give you some status. We only knowing you now because you are inviting the PF government to help you. If you are afraid of cross-titution, you won’t be the first one. Masebo, and others have done it before.

  17. Sense not everyone should be pf. We can live well together without belonging to same parties. That’s how it goes in developed minds.

  18. This evening I will tell the chap behind the bar that today I won’t drink from the beer bottle. I will only drink from a 1/2 pint glass placed on a beer coaster as I also don’t want to lower my status.

  19. i thought all those mps from upnd working with the govt said the same ,but were are they.madam swallow your pride just say there is something wrong with upnd leadership.the former livingstone mp said the same but finally he joined pf.

  20. Mayo u’v made my day.these are people we want in government to cheap politicians who can’t even speak good english and differentiate things. Thumbs up madam!!

  21. Any reasoning human being will not think of joining PAYA FARMER. It’s a party of oppotunists and full of inconsitences! Today one minister says this tommorrow the other one says No “with emmediate effect” and such kind of nonsance.

  22. @ Mukulumpe the Party has already reacted and affirmed her stand! They have stated that they dont have a policy of preventing MPs from working with Government Functioneries but they definitely have a Policy of not working with PF as a party. This is how it is in Politics. Government Officials including ministers are using tax payers money therefore they should work for everyone but they should never use this situation to promote their parties. Viva to Mutinta and UPND for this clarification. HH is on record telling his MPs to stop saying they can only work with Government once appointed to ministerial positions because they are already part of Government as MPs. If this is difficult for you to understand then go back to school because you need education big time.

  23. Thank you madam for a smart answer to these dull UPND chaps. You are really the former first lady in waiting. At the right time, you are going to move like the Rev did it in Livingstone. Thank you Madam. You know very well that your daughter spends days and nights with Membe. Sorry, i mean Membe is your son inlaw. Hahahaha, unless the two agree, they cannot be together. Thank you madam again.

  24. SA ROAD DEATHS ON THE RISE?

“I HOPE THE “DOG” WILL MOVE WITH THE CIVILISED WORLD ON THEIR REPORTING OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IN OUR COUNTRY.”

JOHANNESBURG – LITTLE HAS BEEN DONE TO REDUCE ROAD DEATHS IN SA THE AA SAID ON THURSDAY.
“WHILE SA IS A SIGNATORY OF THE UN RESOLUTION ON THE DECADE OF ACTION, IT IS CLEAR THAT LITTLE HAS BEEN DONE TO CREATE CHANGE OR PREVENT ROAD DEATHS DURING THE BUSIEST TIMES OF THE YR,” AA SPOKESPERSON SAID.
THE # OF ROAD DEATHS OVER EASTER HAD BEEN INCREASING SINCE 2011. “DESPITE THE CLAIM THAT THE # OF CRASHES ON MAJOR ROUTES DECLINED, THE # OF DEATHS… HAS INCREASED YR-ON-YR SINCE 2011,THE AA SAID.
THE AA SAID 241 PEOPLE WERE KILLED ON THE ROADS OVER THE 2013 EASTER, FROM 28 MARCH TO 1 APRIL, UP FROM THE 217 LIVES LOST IN 2012 AND 151 IN 2011.

  25. Way to go Madam, Opposition party today is ruling party tomorrow. Can you imagine if the likes of Lubinda, Sata, Guy Scott and the rest accepted ministerial positions in the MMD in 2010 would they have been were they are today??

  26. Whats status are you talking lady.Iknow those are the last kicks of a dying horse. What have you done to develop the your own area.Nothing madam secretary.

  27. Madam just follow the principles of the MP is to work for the people who elected you, please do what is right for the people not the party.

  28. Well done Mutinta! Munkombwe was already salivating and his ‘political money belly’ was turning in his internals. Hapunda the hyena was already halucinating about the proverbial buried bone. Yourself and Kunda jnr would have been PF’s biggest prize yet. Right on about working with government on government functions because all Zambians pay tax and deserve development. You are actually already a government officer in the Legislative wing. But you have helped set the line between Government and Party business. I hear you!

  29. i am afraid that the pro- PF bloggers are just insulting mutinta without necesarily responding to the issues raised by the MP. Lets us have respect for elders. Dont be personal over straightforward issues of principle. Lets have substance in your arguments if any. government is run on our hard- earned taxes and all zambians deserve to enjoy the fruits of development.

  30. There is no logic in appointing opposition mps in the name of unity.PF has no strategy but hell bent to diminish the opposition to create a one party state.Ask Monde,Siamunene,Njeulu and Miyutu, what development has they taken to their constituencies?look at Nkandu Luo,Edgar in Chawama and even Gerry Chanda for Kanyama, what have they done?Water reticulation, drainage system, township roads and Guy Scot what has he done in Lusaka central….all…a shame.

  31. # 33 heya
Yes, your postings make sense. Zambia will never develop as long as the MPS oppose governmental projects because they are NOT in the ruling party. You don’t need to be in ruling party in order to implement development in your constitution. Share national cake equally

  32. I am with Mama Mutinta Mazoka on that one;we should educate our people including our MPs and especially political prostitutes that the party and the government should be viewed separately if we have to see UBUYATANSHI BWA CHALO CHESU ZAMBIA.When it comes to government programmes, all the parties should get involved so that they can be able to understand how the government works and once in power ,they can try to work on the failures of the outgoing party for better continuation. Those in opposition, they are not there just to oppose but to work and monitor the party in power so that they don’t abuse the mandate given by the people. Please, we are not enemies but brothers and sisters with the same goals to see ZAMBIAN PEOPLE PROSPEROUS AND PROUD in ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION.Keep it up that spirity

  33. Josie Mwala is an ***** of a woman, so what if Mutinta were a Secretary I have friends who are secretaries who reason better than most University graduates. If you have nothing to say just shut your smelly mouth. I respect Mutinta and I too would never sell my party for a piece of bread like the Siamunene and that useless Sikwela as for Monde he had never seen a million kwacha in his life so the bribe worked.

  34. why do you like to insult. You are just a simple loser trying to ride on the simple popularity of your late husband. get a life

  35. No. 40 ba Sana icailenifye ba Mutinta nabakanafye ukumijoina. Which oily skin naimwe kuti yalinga nempoloto mwakwata kumenso kumwenu?

  36. jessy mwala mama mazoka is an elderly woman who need to be respected by all of us. Even if she was just a secretary she still need respect cos as an mp she is contributing to the governance of this nation by looking after the people she is representing beyond politics, some of the leaders we have do not have a certificate or diploma but they are our leaders and we respect them, for your information mrs. mazoka has never been a secretary she is a diploma holder from nrdc. What connection is mrs. mazoka’s statement and mr. mazoka having been married to an american or freddy mmembe being mrs. mazokas son in low ***** learn manners.

  37. Jozmal and y’all. Thanks for the information about Mutinta and NRDC. That is why she looks like a field mouse!!

  38. Jozmal and y’all. Thanks for the information about Mutinta and NRDC. That is why she looks like a field mouse!!
Anyway her diploma did not help the little farm on Kabwe Road.
Travelling has also not taught her how to dress. The wig really looks like a farm one!!

  39. #39, you’re right. anyone’s political career should hinge on the following values; integrity, principle, selflessness, honesty, transparency, capability and commitment to service. But if you ask PF to use this criterion we’ll certainly end up with NO government!
