Hakainde Hichilema will not apologize-Lifwekelo

Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has said that its leader Hakainde Hichilema will not apologize for the derogatory remarks he recently made to describe the vice president Guy Scott for allegedly campaigning beyond the forty eight hour Electoral rule.

UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo said that there was nothing wrong with what Mr. Hichilema said against the Republican Vice President.

In a statement released to Qfm, Mr. Lifwekelo also dispelled assertions that Mr. Hichilema’s remarks against Dr. Scott are also a demonstration of his political bitterness and tribal attitude.

The UPND Deputy spokesperson has since proposed that the forty eight hour Electoral rule of discontinuing campaigns during an election be revoked as its alleged abrogation by the ruling party adds no meaning to its existence.

Meanwhile, the ruling District Patriotic Front (PF) leadership in Kabwe has joined the rest in condemning UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s alleged insults against republican vice president Guy Scott last week.

District PF vice chairperson Leonard Nsama, says that it was unfortunate that a leader of Hakainde’s calibre could resort to insulting elderly people in his quest to seek popularity.

Mr. Nsama said he wondered what kind of a republican president Mr. Hakainde could be if elected as he would only be insulting the electorates anytime he felt so because his actions now left many people wondering as to what was becoming of him.

He called on the nation to kneel down and pray for UPND leader who he said was possessed by a terrible demon which did not allow him to respect elderly people.

He reminded Mr. Hichilema that Zambia is a Christian nation in which insults, especially among leaders, are not supposed to be hear of.

“Moreover, Dr. Scott is not only an elderly person who deserves respect, he is also the republican vice president who is not supposed to be insulted by anybody including those outside politics. He must be honoured by giving him the respect he deserves,’ said Mr. Nsama.

He said PF is disappointed to find that Mr. Hichilema has continued to insult its leadership with impunity describing it as shameful approach coming from one aspiring to become a republican president.
Last week, during the reception of Dr. Canisius Banda into the UPND as vice president for political affairs, Mr. Hichilema is reported to have called “Dr. Scott a stupid white man.”

  4. Yet again, more fabrication by PF. It’s like a reoccurring malaria illness and frankly becoming monotonous.. Last time UPND leaders ended up in Jail for murder based on total fabrication. We all know how that played out. Before that there was another fabrication that HH made his wealth thru privatization of companies. We know how the investigations played out. There is a saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me”. So, try something else guys, this lie has gone past its use-by date.

The post newspapers used the word stupid several times to describe the late Chiluba & other ‘stupid leaders’ and our own republican president likes using the word stupid or imbecile in his favorite Bemba proverb ‘umulembwe wachipuba wapwile muli tumfwe’. But becos its HH, the word has become an insult even to the Post themselves. Whether it’s an insult or not, such words are there to describe characteristics of individuals. If u change men or women like clothes we ll call you hule period. There is no insult in that.

    and “*****” it is to make mandatory to all journalists, political figures and theirs
    associates to undergone I.Q. evaluation. However, the cost of resulting by-elections
    to replace “stupid” and “*****” will never be known as the print media will be

Is he saying white people are stupid or that among all stupid white people Scott is the most stupid? HH has got to be sensitive with his comments especially with a TRIBALISM tag hanging on him.

    Their is nothing wrong with what HH said and he does not need to apologize, the problem is with the people asking him to apologized, their mind is so colonized that they WORSHIP a WHITE MAN and they think that you can not call a WHITE MAN stupid even when he is being very stupid.

  54. Always supporting rubbish from their leader, this party needs some serious political advisors not paperweights like Lifwekeko. HH has been insulting people for some time now without apologising to any anyone and this is the mistake he is making which will bury him in the 2016 polls. Sometimes I wonder if HH is really a graduate because I don’t see it in him when he is talking rubbish like this, I don’t expect an educated person to be telling women that they belong in the kitchen and expects to be a president of the country! An apology costs nothing but it can cost him an election, Mitt Romney made a comment about the electorates and it turned the pendulum in Obama’s favour when he was the one leading in the polls. Why is it that we are always voting for older presidents? They don’t make mistakes like this which the younger candidates like HH keep on making, they unite the electorates instead of antagonising and alienating them. Experience is a good teacher, MMD, UPND and NAREP have leaders who have never been MP’s and lack the experience of running for public office. Only Milupi is making sense at the moment from the opposition front, the rest are making the same mistakes other young politicians made before them and their parties have became extinct.
