Chiwala dispels Link Zambia 8000 corruption assertions

Road Development Agency (RDA) Director and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Chiwala has dispelled assertions that the procedure in awarding contracts under the Link Zambia-8000 Road project is marred with corruption.dispels

Mr.Chiwala has maintained that there has been no contract awarded irregularly since ever since he took over office as RDA Chief Executive Officer.

Speaking when he inspected the procured earth moving equipment for the Pave Zambia 2000 project, in Lusaka today, Mr. Chiwala says the awarding of road contracts by the agency is done in the most transparent manner with the Anti-Corruption Commission being part of the tender awarding process.

Mr. Chiwala has also disclosed to journalists that so far the agency has spent about sixty five million Kwacha rebased to buy equipment to be used in the Pave Zambia-2000 project to be implemented across the country.

He says of the procured equipment so far, thirteen Front-End-Loaders, fifteen Water Bowsers, fifteen Rollers, fifteen Motor Graders, and fifteen Low Bed Trailers and Trucks horses have arrived in the country and that thirty Tipper Trucks are on the way.

  1. Everyone denies there is corruption or they are stealing even when their conscious does not agrees with them.

    • You are right no one has ever agreed that they have stolen or even when they are caught ready handed they still refuse. Umuntu alishupa bane.

  2. If there is anything I can stand by it is the integrity of Bernard Chiwala the CEO of RDA. He is a very upright and God fearing man in the very real sense unlike some few other pretenders. If he says there has been transparency since he took over the realm of RDA, I believe it to be the case.

  3. No one in zambia has ever accepted corruption, even those who have been caught in the very act deny it. We know there are a lot of kick backs in such deals, just after the projects you will see what chiwala will have in terms of assets as compared to his current incomes. PF is equally corrupt and I did not know but am now seeing.

  4. So is he assuring us that there have been no single sourcing of any road contract? Or is he simply not aware of any?
