Exciting winger Kelvin Mubanga scored a solitary goal and later received a red card as Nkana silenced Nchanga Rangers 1-0 in Chingola on Saturday to maintain their four point lead at the top of the FAZ Super Division.
The win was Nkana’s first league win over Nchanga in 13 years.
This was in a tightly contested Week Nine match in which Kapiri-Mposhi FIFA referee Jani Sikazwe further senf off Rangers defender McDuff Chungu besides producing more than ten yellow cards.
Mubanga scored the deciding goal in the 69th minute beating keeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga with a low shot which resulted from a counter attack.
Nkana utilised one of their few chances created in this match while Rangers will rue their failure to convert numerous scoring opportunities .
Rangers who dominated the first half failed to take an early lead when striker Bornwell Mwape’s powerful shot was stopped by keeper Chansa Kabwe.
Nkana have increased their tally to 22 points after the win at Nchanga Stadium while Rangers are still stuck on 22 points.

Well, it looks like the revolution at Nkana is for real, Baba Ka, welcome back to the land of happiness. Ok, looks like their fans can believe again I think the frequency of breaking 13 years records have increased.
By the way have the mines started pumping center again into the air where this club trains. I think it was the center that made Nkana of the yesteryears great
It was just a matter of time. We were rebuilding all these years and now we are back. Devil Devil Kalampa for LIFE!

Nalelo bwa nnama. The league is going back to its rightful HOME.
NKANA the original Chipolopolo
“If Malawi did it, we can did it also!” Go Nkana, go!
Congrats to Nkana, however am concerned about poor match officiating in Zambian league, lets wake up and play good football. I was disappointed with Jani Sikazwe flashing of cards unnecessarily. He ended up destroying the Game. The red card for Nchanga rangers defender was unjustifiable. Sikazwe the next time you come to Nchanga be warned of stern reaction by the fans, if you continue being biased then chose other destinations.
Don’t cry about refs ! Decisions affected both sides Rangers just failed to convert their chances ! And I think something should be done about the incident in which a Rangers supporter attacked Nkana supporters with a hammer , badly injuring two of them ! Like banning them from playing their games at Nchanga !
Nalelo ee ba Nkana ba winner. Well done Kalampa I am proud of you.
KalapaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaA 4 lyf
That is what happens to a team when players start believing in themselves that they can do it. The resurgence at Nkana is good for the game of football.
