Mweene- I am happy to be back

Share

Kennedy Mweene says he is happy to be back in contention to play for Zambia after serving his one-match suspension.

Mweene missed Zambia’s 4-0 win over Lesotho on June 8 in Ndola after receiving a red card in the two sides 204 World Cup qualifier Group D first leg meeting on March 24 in Maseru.

“I am just really happy that the suspension is finished and available for selection that’s the most important thing,” Mweene said in Ndola.

Red Arrows goalkeeper Daniel Munyao was in goals during Mweene’s absence.

“He (Munyao) did well I was happy for him it is not easy to play in front of a crowd like that. He stayed calm and played simple,” Mweene said.

  1. Munyao in goal. Kennedy Mweene centre-back. Both have been doing good in practice. Zambia 4- 1 Sudan.
My prediction was right last week… Some of us use solstice calculators.

  2. Twalumba for Mweene to be back in the team. All the best guys theb entire nation is behind you, plse do us proud and will hammer Sudan by 3 goals to nil. Go Zed Go

  3. Twalumba for Mweene to be back in the team. All the best guys the entire nation is behind you, plse do us proud and will hammer Sudan by 3 goals to nil. Go Zed Go

  4. DRK twalumba kapati ba Zambia 1 is back. He is the pinacle of stability and the emblem of fortitude. Its good he’s back but the question I have is he really available? coz we may recieve a ‘what goes comes around’ situation were Sudan can be awarded the 3 points for fielding a suspended player (God forbid). I need clarification, a red card in a WC qualifier does it warant a game or 2 games suspension?

  5. Thats great!! Welcome back Mweene.
Munyao did well altho most of us were not confortable with him at first. He is much better than that one……..who is he???? Uwaba power dynamos????

  6. HISTORY DOES NOT FAVOUR ZAMBIA.
am sorry my zambian friends if history is something we should not overlook or ignore then history will repaet itself again in kumasi when you guys come for the return leg and the last match of the group stage.
In 1993 zambia govt could not pay Danish Coach Raold Poulsen so FAZ parted with him. Govt then gave Chipolopolo Ian Porterfield. Zambia was leading their World Cup qualifying group and were favourites for a slot. Their next game was against Senegal then a pushover (like Lesotho). Zambia needed to beat Senegal twice to put Morocco out of the reckoning. In a game that they could have won by a cricket scoreline Zambia drew with Senegal in Dakar. Senegal lost the return 4-0 in Lusaka. Zambia, needing just a draw, then had a crucial last game against…

    • Like you rightly say mate : HISTORY ! The current players were either not yet born or toddlers ( from all teams that is ) ! You still had your Abedi and we still had our Kalusha !
The coming back of Kevin Prince and the Ayew brothers can be a double edged sword for Ghana ! They are good players , but their coming back when the job is almost done, might demotivate other players who have been doing well in their absence !

    • You @ E. Ghana, tell your president to worry about Lesotho game first. If Lesotho humbles you, you will need to burry your heads in your hands again…like your players did at the end of that AFCON 2012 semifinal.
