Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi says the Patriotic Front’s dismal performance in the four parliamentary by-elections is an indication that people are fed up with their arrogance and insensitivity to listen to advice.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm News this morning, Ms Nawakwi said the results of the by-elections are an indication that the majority of the Zambian people are no longer interested in the alleged lies of the PF.

Ms. Nawakwi said there has been a chorus from the church and civil society organizations over government’s failure to deliver tangible developmental projects but in vein.

She explained that valuable resources are being thrown into the drain while the poor Zambians continue to suffer from poverty and disease.

The FDD leader stressed that it is unfortunate to see more shortages of drugs in hospitals since the PF came to power.

Meanwhile Ms. Nawakwi said opposition Members of Parliament serving as deputy ministers in the PF government should realize that they are in parliament to serve the people and not their families.

  1. more bye elections please, we could vote out PF before 2016. opposition should plan for now and events before 2016. Wynter Kabimba’s attack on ECZ is an own goal, Sata should fire him.

    • Should try it soon so we can show them that gun shots don’t have an impact. 2016 for HH and a fresh start. Let us say no to oldies

  2. ONLY IF ALL OPPOSITIONS CAN TEAM UP TOGETHER FOR A PROPER STRATEGY TO VOTE PF OUT. Zambians a truly fed-up with leadership of harassment. SATA and PF have lost it; it’s just unacceptable for PF to be bulling people who voted for them. Message to OPPOSITION PARTIES?? SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE COME TOGETHER AND WORK TOGETHER. WE WANT PROPER LEADERSHIP TO TEACH THESE POOR FINISHERS A LESSON.

  3. This is a ******* statement by this Nawakwi, Zambia is a multi party democracy. You ****** chaps were squealing and squeaking that PF will rig the elections and that bye elections are expensive ati dictatorship, where are the ******* doom sayers?

    • We forgive you because we know you are mourning. You are still wallowing in the make-believe mentality. The facts on the ground are that you are dead while living. Sorry we have awaken at last and prepare to vacate our space. I.D.I.O.T

    • @ Maxwell,
It seems the diminishing fortunes of your PF at the polls have humbled you and for a change you are subdued and have toned down. Welcome to reality!

    • The PF have gained 1 seat it did not have and the MMD ***** have lost 3 seats ati diminishing fortunes!kikikiki

    • @maxwel
I guess, its feel good in the moment to be denial and throw away the ARVs!! the fact is PF wanted all those seats,, they even used `govt machinery` to try and rigg,, but only managed to win one seat,,,painfully true!!!!!!!

so maxwel, i understand your bitternes and pain,,, added to that your itching bums resulting from that loose… drink some salt solution to calm down and move on

    • This result is a plus to the pf,because all those constituencies belonged to the opposition and the PF managed to snatch one….Lol

  4. THERE ARE SO MANY EYES THAT ARE OPEN BUT VERY FEW THAT SEE.

ALL THE SEETS BELONGED TO THE OPPOSITION, ONE SEAT HAS GONE TO THE PF.

ROADS BEING DONE ARE NOT DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS.

    • ba muzo did you expect the PAYA FARMER TO LOSE WHERE THE OPPOSITION HAVE SCORED VICTORY? LETS FACE THE FACTS THAT THEY ARE LOSING GROUND,

    • pf wanted to get the 4 seats from the opposition MMD, but they have failed at great cost to the tax payers. are you so blind that you can’t see that this is a bitter defeat? The pf celebration parties have been cancelled and achieving the magic 106 seats is now an illusion.

    • pf will think twice and very hard before calling for another by election. they have been taught a hard lesson. getting 25% in an exam is a serious fail. any exam.

    • Nawakwi has finally outlived her usefulness , I can’t believe that she can’t see that the PF has gained…lol rhetoric coming from Nervous Mumba and Hakainde Hichilema are expected… But they will die down and we will soldier developing this mother land.

  5. PLEASE MICHEAL SATA CAN YOU EXPEL GIVEN LUBINDA FROM THE PARTY SO THAT WE HAVE A BYE-ELECTION IN KABWATA. AND MMD, WHY ARE YOU NOT EXPELLING KEITH MUKATA FROM YOUR PARTY? WE NEED A BYE-ELECTION IN CHILANGA CONSTITUENCY AS WELL SO THAT WE TASTE THE POPULARITY OF PF IN LUSAKA PROVINCE.

  6. Church or Civil Society is not substitute for government. Government deals with foundations of national development. This includes catching criminals and fighting bush fires. PF is working hard. Come September, even AFCON will be coming to Zambia for the first time ever.

  7. What a coward of a woman. She has now found courage to open her mouth. We want courageous leaders, not your kind who runs away from people becoz of a plane ride to Brazil and prospects of charming the Head of State for a position in govt. He also knew what you were after and did well to ignore your maneuvres with “future leader” now enjoying “attention” from PF thugs.

  8. I don’t think PF has lost anything apart from the money used for by Election.
    I. Mkushi seat was under MMD, but PF has grabed it.
ii.Kafulafuta was under MMD, UPND has grabed it
iii. Solwezi was under MMD but UPND has grabed it
iv.Chipata was under MMD and MMD has returned it.

MMD has lost seats while UPND and PF have gained.

  9. PF cadres just face the reality….a party in government has machinery compared to the opposition parties who depend on the little they have….some of you say PF is a democratic party as in how, this time around no party in zambia can rig elections even if they try all will be in vain.Remember in 2011 RB tried to rig but the people of zambia were wide awake….we expected PF to scoop the seats but they forgot one thing ”don’t take people’s quiteness and patience for granted.”

  10. PF have gained an extra seat. That is great news, gaining, not loosing, as is the case with the party in death throes, MMD.

    • Lets just face it my brother….why did you participate in these elections if you where not interested in winning all the four seats??? dont console yourself like that though i know its BITTER! BITTER! BITTER!
Who is bitter now HH or yourself??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ichalo chisuma…

  11. Nawakwi, I thought you were the darling of the PF. They took you on a holiday of a lifetime to Brazil and now instead of conveying your solidarity with them on their losses you are rubbing more salt in their wounds. What went wrong in your alliance?

    • Nawakwi has been against PF since the subsidy removal, its not now that she’s come out. She even took on Sichinga on TV……cut her some slack.

  12. Sata this is indicative that the people of Zambia are not happy with your bruteness as PF. Zambians don’t like violence and arrogance. Mark my words PF cannot win a seat in Kasama, Mpika copperbelt nor Lusaka. Get rid of the Winters, Judge Ngoma etc. Zambian women detest violence. Just how can you stay mute on the undressing of a women in Solwezi? How can you stay mute at Ngoma’s firing at a crowd. Add to it the ZNS killings. PF needs surgery, like you rightly observed you are seating on a volcano. Please bring Lubinda back ASAP. These recent elections (3-1) are a breath of fresh air from the usual PF hyena stench…….

  13. @Dr Makasa Kasonde. Who says civil society is a substitute of Government? Come off it man! These bodies compliment Government efforts in bringing development to the people. There are also a watchdog to Government abuses and excesses. But your PF government has been fighting them tooth and nail and now they are fighting chiefdoms. PF is fighting everybody including the International community!

I know By elections are expensive, but I want one in Lusaka which Winter Kabimba must be a candidate under PF. I dare him and PF. Let Given Lubinda resign from PF. We want a By election! Let’s test Lusaka!

  14. The garrulous Roman Catholic Church ya lala. Where is is the bishopric which should stand shoulder to soldier with poor over removal subsidies? And against worshipers in Matero? Where are the ten Commandments their protege, Ukwa, said he would govern the country by?

  15. Those who think Pama FI hav gained have a short memory and cannot analyze issues properly. Ok pf has gained more money in their pockets in allowances but Pf has spent huge sums of our money causing stupid by elections, trying to get more seats. But out of 4 seats they thought were theirs, Zambians slapped them in their faces in 3 constituencies ( remember they said they should get Chilata central at ALL costs). So Zambians who want to stop useless by elections have won. Also truth has won over lies, and vigololo insults. Shemuneni MPEZENI…

  16. PF is beaten in the air while kabimba keeps making dangerous moves.3-1 is the state of affair here at disaster heroes stadium. What do you think CJ?Yah because of this loss I doubt if mr Sata will keep longer than this.

    • Yes. Mission accomplished. CJ out. No longer required as Sata will not want to be embarrassed again through another defeat by a CJ engineered by-election.

  17. We’re all tired of this SATANIST SATA president.Zambians,we made a very, very big mistake to for this SATANIST of a president. He has failed to govern the country all he knows is chasing after the opposition and the innocent people.Sata pls,pls just concentrate on your promises you made to the people of Zambia and stop this stupidity you’re doing. There’s nothing going on in Zambia in tames of development.Just look at our so called INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and compare it to O.TAMBO,MURTALA MUHAMMEA IN NIGERIA,KENYAN,KOTOKA IN GHANA to mentione a few.Just look at BAD roads in the communities,Hospitals, clinics, schools,Dirty and filth Lusaka and other towns. No vision for the country from SATA.The EURO BOND money STOLEN by SATA and his ministers.Zambians pls wake up SATA and co stole all the…

  18. @copboy, more so if the winner with 50% this time round has had a diminishing rate of return since 2006.

The excitement by these loser parties has shocked me, some are even saying vote of no confidence! My foot! Pf ll bounce back. Even nawakwi can open her mouth or ist twenotweno? Yayayayaya… wished mmd thugs gave her a big pipe as they promised to rape her.

  19. Solwezi east, Kafululafuta and Chipata Central sums up the Zambians! Very simplistic indeed.
I always see a problem with the analysis of people that are lazy being mathematical but rather use icikwakwa to satisfy their ego.
One of our biggest political challenges in Zambia is tribal politics.
2016 and going forward (like China), Presidents in this country must have some Science/Mathematics background.
Fellows like HH, Nevers, Nawakwi, Chipimo, Fr Bwalya have shown serious limitations in articulating scientific solutions to our todays’ challenges.

  20. The PF nightmare is slowly starting to disappear over over the horizon and the opposition’s sun is slowly starting to rise.It feels like the emancipation proclaimation
of 150yrs ago all over again.Praise the Lord for this.

  21. but some pipo don’t ever be satisfy, PF deliver stadiums, levy shopping center, radson hotel and Africa cup and soon cash manee into pipo pockets be patience , be happy. if not sata tell me who do you need ? maybe fr bwalya

  22. whether under ruling party or not there is no tangible development. In Botswana Gaborone the small town is very clean, the roads are modernized wide enough and townships are well planned even though still under construction. Please PF and Zambians at large let stop these careless expenditures, unnecessary borrowing imagine 700m us dollars brought into un economy but no impact not even the kwacha power or loadsheding or anything improving but when we sent 10000 dollars to our relatives big houses are built in mean wood we are able to see the little. Over by election for sure this will hunt down the PF no matter how long it may take but one some will pay for being extravagant.

  23. Leaders like MMD president Nevers Mumba are so myopic, they lack the vision to lead bigger parties like MMD. His party has lost 3 seats and he is applauding as if he has won! if he was a CEO of company, he could have been fired a long time ago for dismal performance. He should be reprimanded for selling Solwezi seat to UPND, how do you sell your own seat to your competitor? They should have defended this seat with everything they got, come 2016 his actions will come to haunt him!
Tangible projects takes time, roads do not just fall from the sky like magic, they take time to construct, once the projects are complete these arm-chair critics will become irrelevant. I am not trying to sound like a chauvinistic pig, but Zambian female politicians are not ready to lead any political party.

  24. Nawakwi has reduced a once vibrant political party into a one woman- political commentary centre. Elections are happening in the country and even new parties like NAREP are trying to test the waters and get into parliament, but she does not even bother to contests the seats! Is the the kind of politics we expect from female leaders? The election results do not portray the true picture, these were MMD seats and stronghold areas, PF has lost nothing but gained one seat. The MMD is the one which should be worried going by it’s performance in all the by-elections.
