A SEX worker who stole K28 000 from her Congolese ‘client’ in Ndola has been sentenced to two years simple imprisonment.

This is in a case in which Getrude Ndawa was facing one count of theft after she stole K28 000 from Kabange Masengo a business executive from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who was in Zambia selling some merchandise.

The complainant met the convict at Dolphin night club where the two agreed to exchange sexual favours and went to Atlas Motel where the Congolese man was booked.

She charged him K150 which he paid and stashed the rest of the money he had in the hotel room cupboard.

Soon after his business with the sex worker, the complainant fell asleep and woke up around 05.00 hours only to find his partner gone and his money amounting to K28 000 missing.

After making enquiries, he was told that she had left at around 0300 hours. He reported the matter to the police and investigations were launched.

During mitigation Nawa asked for leniency saying it was the work of the devil. She said she had two small children that still needed her care.

She said from the money that she stole she had bought a house and was willing to sell it to give the money back to the owner.

In passing judgment magistrate Chitundu Chongo said she had taken into account her mitigation and the fact that she had accepted the crime.

She however said the offence she had committed was serious and would not let her go scot-free hence the decision to sentence her to 24 months simple imprisonment.

  1. There are a lot of murders getting less time than that, why so harsh on this poor woman? I am not condoning stealing but hey he brought gasoline to the fire and he got burned. Who in their right mind is going to spend the night with a sex worker and lots of cash stashed on the side? She is going to be tempted to take it. She should have denied it and stayed low as there was no way to prove the crime anyway.

    • What sort of sex can make a man fall asleep? Nick and I when we get the chance to, he is always awake and watches TV he is as strong as an ox
SO I think this story is too good to be true

      Thanks

    • Mushota, sometimes just think before you post a comment. We dont want to know how unsatissfied your man is. Please never let your own mother visit. By the way.
Women taught to satisfy there men are also taught how to clean there viginas and anuses(not to be used liike in your case but for hygene) . Shame you have akapoko ib Eurpe

  2. The rationale here is that a proper court of law cannot enforce contacts arising in the process of commiting a crime. Here, prostitution is a crime involving exchange of money for personal services. If one chooses to take more money than pleases the other , it cannot become a crime to involve a court of law. The woman can also claim to have been overused by her Congolese client.
The Congolese businessman must have bribed this dick-head of magistrate.

    • Exactly my thoughts. Did the judge pass his exams? What kind of reasoning was he using? Its like sending me to jail because i have stolen money that thieves had stolen from the bank! This is comedy and if our justice system had any semblance of justice in them, the superiors have to set this woman free, or better still, jail the Congolese for admitting to committing a crime on our land.

  3. Has she refunded the money or what? If she has, why put her in prison, whether it is simple imprisonment or hard labour, it is still the same nimu jele. I hope she has not paid back, kabili she is serving for her deed. Eeeee, kucibila ngacapwalala.

  4. Injustice!

What about the Congolese male prostitute, does he get a jail term for coming to practice prostitution in Zambia?

This is the Bible story of a woman caught in adultery “alone” repeated. This time the Pharisees have their own way, and have stoned the woman.

  5. Zambia ladies are too good. Unlike nigerian or kenyans prostitutes… who are making international headlines. Last week a group of nigerian prostitute ring were arrested in spain for drugging, and stealing from 1000’s & 1000’s of drank tourists in Mallorca Spain.
In kenya “malaya’s” spike their victims drinks and rob them while they sleep.

  6. My or my,….

Someone told me the Somali who shot dead the Zambian not so long ago was given 3 years,…. Can someone please confirm,…?!

  7. How do u jail someone who is addicted to SEX??? What do u expect her to do or act in jail for three golf years???? awe kwena!

  8. In Congo a Zambian would be locked for 5 years and their prostitute set free to enjoy the fortune . In zambia it’s the opposite

  9. Have the courts inverstigated how and where the congolese got that kind of cash? you let a criminal go and put Robbin Hood in Jail, i say set her free! Am guessing the owners of that monie, the maffias to be specific gave you a call to do something about it or get maffiad!

  10. Why do we call prostitutes Sex Workers? Is it a legal employment in Zambia? In other words is having Sex considered as doing work?

  11. There is a possible case of money laundering here!! And another one of abating crime (buying sex). Did anyone look into it?

  12. Just when she thought she won the lotto, a typical case of easy come easy go,lazy bitch, who pays 28 gruders for a lap of sex,not even lobola costs so much.

  13. THERE IS NO CASE; THE ZAMBIAN LADY SHOULD BE PARDONED. THEY SHOULD ALSO NOT SALE THE HOUSE CONSIDERING THAT SHE HAS SAVED SENTENCE. I DON’T THINK IT WOULD BE HER WISH TO STEAL AND BE A PROSTITUTE. IT IS WORK OF POVERTY. IN CONGO, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE OTHER WAY ROUND. IF IT WAS A ZAMBIAN MAN WHO TOOK THE LADY TO A HOTEL???? THEY WOULD HAVE LOCKED A ZAMBIAN FOR PRACTICING ILLEGAL SEX??? JUST TO LET THE LADY GET AWAY WITH CASH AND SHARE WITH THE POLICE. ZAMBIANS UTULO?? WHY SACRIFICE YOUR OWN SISTER?? WHEN YOU INVADED LODGES IN LIVINGSTONE. OUR LAWS ARE NOT CONSISTENT. LET THE LADY GO AND LOOK AFTER HER CHILDREN. RELEASE HER.
