Reports attributed to the Ministry of Finance that the effective date for implementation of new salaries for public service workers has been moved are false and just another scheme aimed at stressing workers and thereby affecting their productivity and capacity to deliver the promises of the Government to the people of Zambia.

During the media briefing on treasury and fiscal matters held last Sunday, the Minister of Finance was very categorical in his affirmation that the new salaries would be implemented NEXT MONTH IN SEPTEMBER.

At that occasion, the Minister praised all public service unions for the benevolence shown in agreeing that the salary increments be implemented in September, instead of the end of the first quarter in March. He also thanked the unions for their spirit of dialogue, understanding and focused leadership.

    • Can the Secretary to the Looted Treasury distinguish between Political Promises and Government Policy? The Civil Service is not a vehicle for delivering political deceit, have respect for them. Its now confirmed, the entire crop is dull. Please may the next govt never recycle any of this trash masquerading as leaders!

  1. LET’S NOW HEAR WHAT UP N DOWN HAS TO SAY. HOW ABOUT THE DOG THAT BARKS AT THE SIGHT OF A RUNNING RAT OR FROG

    • Wouldn’t be too confident in this statement if I where you, it was only a few day ago when Edith Nawakwi was been called all sorts of names by shamenda for saying government has a deficit of 5 million…but as it turned out, she was right. Don’t be irrational just because.

  2. Thats why i love what HH said, had it not been for that statement, that money would have gone under the carpet, this is the reason opposition is important bane, HH more statements please, they want to show people that HH was speaking from without by paying, in actual fact HH has indirectly made them do the honour, thankx HH.

    • what a government!!!!,, public statements just made without intenal co-ordination… Mr yamba is secretary to the treasury in the ministry of finance surely he must be reading from the same leaf page with the minister of finance himself!!!

  3. Sata is very hard working, humble and honest President you ever have in this country. Let him leave and bring in another one then you will know. Put yourselves in his shoes, then you can comment. Some of you a small post like a prefect at school you start to behave like you are God. Sata can allow civil servant to go without salary increament, those were speculations from opposition who always wish PF failure. Imagine DR NEVERS MUMBA is a presedent of zambia what can you expect at least H.H. is better looking at his riches and what he does for the party……

  4. This is why it is important for Journalists to verify reports before publishing them Some of these politicians are very good at alarming people just to further the political agendas. Let’s hope the Public Service Workers receive these new salaries on time.

  5. Kabiyoko iwe! ln which way are the opo making the govt work when their work is to ensure that pf does not deliver. Pf is delivering on its own becoz they have listening ears. Bravo pf!

  6. Am i confused or its the Govt that is doing this to me…Who should i listen to? In-terms of hierarchy, who is senior, the minister or the secretary to the treasury, who reports to who…

  7. Thanks. Boma has spoken. come september or september month end tukapeta. Keep it up. Am now benefiting and indeed very glad, my vote was not wasted. Lekeni balande. after september all public servants will side with GOVT.

  8. Which Opposion leader ?No one at the moment has the heart to serve us compared to HE Michael Chilufya. The rest except few like Hon Magande,Have selfish interest. We salute you mr President.A Zambian based in the UK

    • from uk you choose to spew feaces from your brain, if there is any. us living under the nose of this i.diot have seen no development or any kind of leadership quality other than seeing rubbish from the so called leaders. the only development visible is swearing in ceremonies and bye elections. arent you ashamed that where you are there is dev. and u think it is the same in zed chik.ala

  9. If your president is delivering, why are you hidding in the UK if it is true that is where you are? Come back and watch your government deliver in close-range you *****!
Mwanawasa worked under stressful conditions such as the global crunch but still provided subsidies. Your president has removed that but still we are running on a budget deficit, you kwengo!

    • IT’S GOOD PEOPLE ARE NOT IDENTIFIED ON THIS BLOG.
HOW DOES A NORMAL PERSON BORN FROM MAN AND WOMAN CASTIGATE OTHERS FOR LIVING ABROAD?. ARE THERE NO FOREIGNERS IN ZAMBIA THAT YOU SHOULD LOOK DOWN AT THOSE LIVING ABROAD? SOME OF FOREIGNERS LIVING IN ZAMBIA COME FROM COUNTRIES THAT ARE ECONOMICALLY BETTER THAN ZAMBIA BUT THEY ARE HERE EVEN TRYING TO OBTAIN CITIZENSHIP.

  10. There go the insults again! This is a positive development that should be applauded, political affiliation aside. The Public Service has been waiting for this for too long if you ask me. What we should be looking forward to now is better service delivery from the Public Service workers.

  11. Inconsistencies are a sign of poor leadership…but then does any of these guys know anything about good leadership. It would have been better to remain shut and deliver on the agreement when everyone least expect that so much contradiction adding to the embarrassment.

    • Why have two different statements at all times it was Shamenda vs Chikwanda, and now Chikwanda vs Yaluma whoever is called.
Truly a GS can not issue a media report without fact.

I hope these salaries will not have serious anomalies

  12. The earlier reports that Govt had shifted goal posts was just a make believe story by some disgruntled people posting on these on line websites that have no credibility.
People who are correct in their skulls can sieve through what is posted here.
A Bemba adage says “ILYASHI LYAPANSAKA MUSENDA CHIPUBA”. Only a fool would believe everything they read on these NOT CREDIBLE news websites were anyone can post anything and not be held accountable for it. Verify with reliable sources or be misled like fools.
BE WISE PEOPLE AND DO NO TAKE EVERYTHING YOU READ HERE AS GOSPEL TRUTH.

    • Try to interpret when you use vernacular. Unless, of course, you are only addressing this to people of your tribe. If that is the case, then I have no quarell. I am one of the 13m Zambians from one of the 73+ tribes who have not had the privilege to live in the Northern region of Zambia (Cenral, CB, LPL, Northern and Muchinga) where the language of the great bemba people of Zambia is widely spoken. Sometimes i see what appear to be insults in this language on this blog and I do not comment for fear that I might miss the message.

  13. We thank God for the online blogs and multiparty democracy which allow people to make comments on public issues and share information. Before now only politicians, public figures and party cadres had access to state controlled news papers and the only media channels available. It is therefore understandable to read on this blog how those pipo who enjoyed the media alone criticise and demean LT, Tumfweko, Zambian Eye, ZWD etc. Sorry, your skeletons can no longer remain hidden. One day even LCC and Ministry of Lands who have held poor Zambians to ransom on our God-given resource – Land, shall have nowhere to hide. All those plots, lots and large tracts of land you have ammassed and denied us will be exposed. What happened to whites in Zim will one day be here.

    • I am totally with you. Very good comment indeed. Nobody can hide anymore. It’s those with “excess buggage” who dislike on-line publications because they have exposed them big time. NO WHERE TO HIDE.

  14. People help out on this one, whats the increament in terms of percentage are the civil servants going get, hopefully in September?

  15. Yamba should not think that Zambians are St.upid. In fact it is the PF government that is stu.pid. Hon Chikwanda made the pronouncement that govt was unable to pay new civil servants’ salaries in September at a media breakfast and Yamba was present. So, why is he now insulting those who heard what was said? The PF must just admit that they have failed to run gvt. There is no way Yamba can start twisting facts just to save face. We heard it with our own ears from the Finance Minister that govt. had no money to effect new salaries for civil servants as earlier promised. Unless Yamba is saying we never heard, he must just sh.ut up. Let him stop insulting the Zambian people. Statements must be credible and not political. Yamba must not play politics as a civil servant. Let him resign.

  16. lmao ati tf or pc pf are delivering kekekekekekekekekek what a joke even pf leaders themselves as evil as they are they know they have completely failed to the bone you cant have clowns run national issues, clowns are for circus dont miss understand me they have the talent to make people laugh but are not for economics so comfort and lie to yourself but nothing will come from clowns
