Renard -We have no excuses for losing to Zimbabwe

Share

Herve Renard says Zambia did not deserve to qualify for the 2014 CHAN after a shoddy performance in the return leg of the final qualifying round against Zimbabwe in Ndola.

Renard’s team failed to qualify for CHAN after losing to Zimbabwe 1-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.

He said the home based Chipolopolo squad has no excuse for failing to beat Zimbabwe in Ndola.

“Firstly, congratulations to the Zimbabwean team. I think we deserve what we produced on the pitch,” Renard said.

“There is no excuse we drew in Zimbabwe 0-0, we were stronger there but today we were not ready to fight to qualify Zambia for CHAN,” he said.

Renard described Zambia’s first loss at Levy Mwanawasa as a shame.
And the Frenchman again hinted that he may leave his Chipolopolo top job next month.

“It’s a shame and I don’t know if I will play another game in this stadium so it’s a shame.”

Zambia failed to qualify for the last CHAN held in Sudan in 2011-a year after minting bronze at the first edition.

  1. I told you last week that you will go down 1 nill. As for Ghana i have said it many times you are also going down either a draw or 2nill. I have already comforted myself so am not hurt as already know what to expect.

    • Bana Mwaba naimwe… why you want Zambians to end the year in depressions?
In general, from Malikoni bros, subsdies to now football, its the waste year for Zambia, we just pray that the year ends as soon never before.

    • Against Ghana, we will be top. Please, know this; its not the coach that plays much in Zambia but the players approach to the situation of the match. Renard can go as he wishes (if it is true). I pray we meet with his new team so that he gets humiliated.

    • Mr Renard please leave and go we are tired with your uselessness after all its not the first time you are leaving. And which team can keep a useless coach like you. Here you are coach because of a useless chap called Kalu. Its seems you know that you will be fired after the Ghana game and Kalu will be forced out.

    • Nostradamus,
In as much as i want Zambia to win, am afraid they keep breaking my heart, so the best way for me to help myself is to guard it even before they try, otherwise i want nothing else but a win, i also agree with someone that it is not the fault of the coach but players. RH cant paly for them…. he can olny guide them, do you guys think he wants be a loser? hell no…..he must be more hurt than we are, be sensitive people.

  2. Eyes on the ball Herve. Forget bout armchair critics, but setting your eyes on the ball.

Already booked my dates to watch Zambian in Brazil next year!!

  3. HR knows that he is OUT of his depth and has always has been… i bet he is laughs at our docility every time he is at his home with his wife for paying him all these sums (plus Kalu’s cut). He knows he can’t win in Ashanti.

    • HR has no wife, and that is another reason Chipolopolo continues playing soccer like prostitutes. He even calls his players that they are not sexy-enough…
Now the boys start running “kumekameka”, amahule ayatuntulu.

  4. “It’s a shame and I don’t know if I will play another game in this stadium so it’s a shame.” Judging from the tone of this statement Renard believes that Zambia is going to fight a lost battle in Ghana next month. Is it too late for someone else other than Renard to go with the team to Ghana next month? It appears to me that Renard is so relaxed on his job which is an indication that his boss Kalusha does not exert pressure on him or hold him accountable to produce results or else. Renard doesn’t seem to know that his job is not a hobby. More than ever, I am becoming convinced that the problem is not with Renard but Kalusha. If Zambia was a football National like most West African countries Kalusha would not be at the helm of football in the country. The FAZ needs someone with management

    • elowaishiba lelo…
when some of us call on him to step down as faz president, most of you come out strongly against the call.
my bro, nowhere in the world have we heard of an absentee president in any given discipline, be it in politics or sport.
its only in zambia where we have allowed kalusha to run our beloved sport on remote control and expect to excel.
      how shameful

  5. Zambia’s losses give me high blood pressure. If we fail to bring down the Ghanaians, my blood vessels might end up bursting.

    • Take it easy no strokes Ba Chale, we need you, we like mwe mfumu. And remember, “nsansa ku chinjanya”.
Last month Zambia rejoiced in COSAFA over Zim, this month nsansa shaya ku Zim, its a present to Mugabe’s elections.

    • you will just die for nothing while renard will go back to where ever he came from and enjoy zambia’s tax payers’ money.
the guy is now swimming in cool cash for doing a disservice to our mother zambia.
      too sad….

  6. I think the coach is the reason for the loss. How does he say we deserved it? Did he prepare the team enough? Sounds like he has already packed his bags.

  7. I have always maintained that Zambians have overrated themselves in football. That can be costly. You guys have unnecessarily high expectations. I think you should start to manage your expectations else you will always have serious heartbreaks. For now, we await you in Kumasi-Ghana.

    • You posted this again. Don’t you recal that you as Ghana rated yourselves a lot in the past two CAF competitions? wait and see in Kumasi. You have started calling back your players with little time left. Panicking! We are brothers but on that day, we will eat your fufu more and leave you hungry.

  8. I think the coach has given in everything he could and nothing left, hence he has seem that our players cant adopt his way of playing games, so he knows that next month game in Kumasi gone be tough for Zambia, and that might be his last game with Zambia. We wait and see the out come of Kumasi game in next two weeks. Zambia were disappointing today.

    • And if we win in Kumasi, we should not increase his salary even when he says he is staying. He is gambling a lot.

  9. Mwe bantu, the team had no play maker, and striking was blunt. You must give respect to Mukuka Mulenga. We need to find a new Rainford Kalaba.

Any competitive game Thomas Nyirenda has featured the results have not been good.

    • I agree. People have to accept that we do not just have enough talent in the home-based players especially up front. Even top-notch coaches the world over admit when their players do not play well in a game and lose. Our boys did not just play well. Even if you brought Guardiola or Mourinho to coach this team the results would be the same. FAZ should concentrate on developing young talent which is not happening at the moment. Football in schools is virtually dead. When did we last have a school boy international?

  10. are you guys expecting him to stand again? how old will he be? looks like zambia is following zimbabwe’s footsteps.

  11. BATUCHENA?? GOOD SO THAT WE LEARN A LESSON. UKUIUFWA? WAIT FOR GHANA MASSACRE. I HAVE LOST FAITH IN OUR TEAM THEY ARE VERY COMPLACENT AFTER WINING THE AFCON. MAKES ME WOUNDER IF WE TRULY WON OR WAS THE POWERS OF OUR FALLEN HEROES. ZAMBIAN HOLD YOUR HEARTS PANTU MUKAFWA NAMA BPs, GHANA IS ON A MISSION VERY MUCH ON TRACK PREPARING FOR THE BIG GAME WHILE WE ARE STILL SLEEPING, WAITING FOR LAST MINUTE.

  12. Loosing hope should be the last thing to every living human being. Where I come from they is a saying that goes like, “mwana wa kaya sakulilako”. We are too negative and as such God grants us our wishes. My advise to the National Team is lets go to Khumasi and play the way we did when we won AFCON. IF Rener’s ideas are not working please Chris take charge.

  13. After we loose in Ghana, which we will definitely DO, we must be seing this Coach packing up because he`s runout of ideas. It`s strongly rumoured that the guy is actually a phisical trainer

  14. Observations:
    1. From draws now los meaning we are now heading in that direction.
    2. HR is a gambler, shud we win in Ghana(of course somthng am not seeing hapeng) he wil change his mind from going to staying. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a bad idea if he goes the guy jst depends on the individual eforts of our players if not for that, he is a poor tactician.
    3. As long as the team cannot create chances then sorry no win for Zambia in decades to come.
Finaly in as much as i wud lov Zambia to win in Kumasi, it is unfortunate tht i jst cant trust our players anymore for now. So shud thngs go wel then ninshi ni draw and tht wl b very painful to us Zambian soccer lovers!

  15. No psychology no gimic batata!!!!! ni multiple choice pa grade 7. three quoters bafootballer twakata balibulishya isukulu….1+1 Ati leveni..buti kwena mulikopo bamuntu!!!!

  16. To all those are blaming the coach you are very stupid, without HR Zambia was not going to kiss the Africa cup at all in 2012, For many years before renard when did we win the Africa cup or even beating west African countries, this is soccer every country improves don’t think other countries are working hard to improve they are and if renard leaves Zambia we are done

  17. Let’s not force Renard to stay as our chipolopolo trainer, the man lacks tactical strategies for the game.let me leave,he went and never performed.
