Lusaka Deputy Mayor Mulenga Sata is today expected to present a petition on behalf of some Patriotic Front (PF) cadres who over the weekend demanded for the resignation of some top party officials who they allege are against the endorsement of President Michael Sata as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2016 elections.

This was after the cadres presented Mr Mulenga Sata with the petition on Saturday. The Deputy Mayor, who is also the son of the President, promised to deliver it to the President.

Mr Sata said he would by the end of the today present the petition to his father on behalf of the youths. He said in an interview that the youths told him that they were among other things, concerned about the organisation and mobilisation of the party adding that the youths felt that being a civic leader and son to the President, it would be easier for their concerns to be conveyed to the Head of State.

“Yes the cadres came to present a petition hoping I can pass it on to the PF leadership …they are raising concerns about party mobilisation and organisational and you know as a civic leader and son of the President the best I can do is to hear them because the moment I refuse, I become irrelevant “ he said.

In the petition, the members also want President Sata to quickly intervene in the matter of endorsing him which they said was bringing divisions in the party.

The youths, led by provincial publicity secretary Ackson Nkhoma said they wanted some senior party officials to resign because they had failed to provide leadership in the perceived wrangles of endorsement.

According to the petition, the youths who earlier fought running battles with the camp accused of being against the endorsement at Northmead Secondary School said they were angered to find that the other group was carrying banners reading “No Sata 2016.”

They said they were further upset by a slogan by the other camp saying “aleisa, aleisa” wondering who that “aleisa” person was.

They called for the immediate dissolution of the district and provincial executives accusing them of being against the endorsement of President Sata and that they were suspending members that were endorsing Mr Sata.

They called on President Sata to give direction to the party so that the division of loyalty currently going on was resolved in the best interest of the party and not individual members.

Lusaka provincial chairperson Geoffrey Chumbwe said calls for the endorsement of Mr Sata are uncalled for because it was obvious that Mr Sata would be the party candidate.

Mr Chumbwe said what was worrying was the different levels of understanding the issue otherwise, there should be no misunderstanding on the matter because Mr Sata had only done two years in office.

Meanwhile police in Lusaka have apprehended one person in connection with the Saturday fracas where PF youths clashed, destroyed property and several others were injured in what was believed to be a misunderstanding on the endorsement of Mr Sata.

This follows a complaint by PF Mpulungu ward 23 councilor Christopher Shakafuswa that he was assaulted and had his vehicle damaged by the cadres.

Police acting spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed in an interview yesterday that police had received a complaint of assault and malicious damage of motor vehicle from Mr Shakafuswa and a docket was opened.

Mr Shakafuswa had his unregistered Mercedes Benz CE240 extensively damaged while five other people were injured after the cadres fought running battles against each other.

The fight was ignited by a group perceived to be in support of the endorsement of Mr Sata that went on rampage beating the other which was supposed to hold a meeting to be chaired by PF Lusaka District chairperson Goodson Banda at Northmead School.

He said police would pursue the cadres involved.

    • It should be democratic to allow people to stand against Sata when an opportunity arises-and it should be encouraged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Thanks Mulenga. It was good to see you on Muvi TV news.

It’s comforting to know that your dad may actually have the courage to stand up against the Mmembe cartel afterall…..

      ….or so we hope.

    • Great seeing you on the Muvi News!!!

It’s conforting to know that the President may actually have the courage to finally stand up against the Mmembe cartel!!! Yipee!!!

      ….or so we hope?

    • Mmembe’s demise was long overdue. Every dog has it’s day and Mmembe’s influence on the PF does not come at the right time than now.

We can not all be doing only what Fred Mmembe wants. NO WAY

    • The whole PF thing is a dictatorship where one man makes himself president and appoints everyone else in their WAMUYAYA positions.in PF Culture the words ELECTION or CONTEST do not exist, and can therefore only come from political ENEMIES. Anyone wishing for a Sata second term should first care to know what his doctors recommend…

    • I really wanted to comment, but the way all of you above commenting is like PF cadres, so PISSED OFF!!
I will be cool. I am part of causing the problem, from the time I said “KABIMBA napena, I will arrest him”.

    • @nostradamus
i blame you for this confusion!! you promised to arrest kabimba but you didnt or took long.. now you see the confusion caused by letting kabimba free!!

  1. Its a simple case of intra-party dictatorship for a party that for 10+ yrs never held competitive internal elections for party leader.Sata could never stand true internal party democracy.

    • When you build a party or a business you do not want to surrender it to others that easily. Ofcourse time will come when someone will take over from Sata but I think it is too early at the moment. Bill Gates founded Microsoft but it was only recently that he relinguished control – though he is still very influencial from the back seat.

    • 2.1 invalid my dear fellow…Ba Sata is not running a company as in your case,’on autonomous rule’ but a supposedly democratic party that follows popular politics as by their own constitution! Your argument actually suggests that Ba Sata is indeed in the wrong business and as such he is not currently governing by democratic principles… ;)!!

  2. How did these people try to hold a meeting without a police permit? my understanding is that assemblies of such nature must hav police presence. nd how did the other group stage a protest without a permit? let these people hack each other they hav no regards for the law.

    • Unlawful Assembly nimulandu! Let the meeting chair face arrest.
Being in the PF is like being in the Middle East where some feel are more muslim than others…
The PF needs a feat of the Muslim Brotherhood

  3. This debate is really irrelevant for now. Why not wait for the party convention? The debate with PF this time is unnecesary. What I know is after Sata PF will be relegated. Sata built that party and no one in PF for now has that popularity to lead PF and win an election. Seeking another leader in PF now is just self distraction. I am convinced that after Sata the PF may remain like UNIP. Thats why Sata should lead his Paty for two term, but there is no need to make noises about it because it is obvious truth.

  4. where were the police while the PF youth fought and destroyed public property (NOT PF property)?
When citizens request to march PEACEFULLY against PF thuggery you deny them permission – what country is Zambia turning into???

  5. Please continue sorting out each other pf thanks to the level of retardation in your kaponya party the end is already here

  6. Breaking the law all round by both camps. One camp held a meeting without permit and another matches to present petition without permit. This is the tragedy when our public institutions are being abused and only move when politicians say so.

I think the women leading security institutions have really done a de-service to their fellow women. They have put in a lousy Job.

If the lady at ACC had done her job when Kabimba and GBM accused each other of corruptions, we wouldn’t be here today talking about the fights caused by these two.

Beacuse the lady at ACC put the tail between her legs and coiled, this is the results and these thugs don’t care about the law.

    All the best really.

  7. PF has been invaded by UPND AND MMD cadres controlled by HH master plan, Aleisa, Aleisa is about HH and not Kabimba.
    MUKALILA SANA.

    • So in your incredibly challenged brain cell you are saying that HH is behind PF issues? You must be Guy Scott who blames opposition for PFs failiure to perform.

  8. But where did these thugs come from? And who is fighting who? honestly pamafiii is a draw back party to Zambian politics. when seeking for dialogue between the two stupid ailing drunkard cadres’ where can one start ?There claims are baseless nad confusing to us onlookers. Anyway, continue being foolish.

  9. Too sad bearly 2 yrs in ofice fightng fr top positionIts embersng Pf pls.Get organised & stop ths nonesense!Washng dirty linen in public! Why?Arent you ashamed?Whoever behind these schemes must be disciplined fr sure irespectve of who they re.Evn if its Wynter thnkng he is unyouchable. This is total shame & too early!

    • 🙁 I feel sad. I don’t like it when Dada complains and is forced to admit that his party is flawed. For Dada’s sake STOP THIS FIGHTING! Can’t you all just…..get along?

  10. PF is tne most indescipline party! Why should you fight? For what? I now believe tha PF is killing itself! Hacking each other. Awee twanaka nenu bwangu! A qunWho then killed a cardar in Lufunsa and Livingstone?

  11. Mulenga Sata as well is being stupid. There is no need to present a petition.

All that Mulenga needs to do is, ask the father to call Kabimba & GBM to resolve their stand ups.

Its the innocent & brain washed cadres being take to hospitals with severe injuries, fromm these fights sponsored by (GBM) & Kabimba + Mmembe)

As for Fred “False Prophet” Mmembe, his balls have started swelling, rather running out on options and lies.

    • Just leave HH out of this, what has he to do with GBM, Kabimba, Sampa, Lubinda and M’membe? You don’t mess up your own house and shift the blame on innocent people. The one who has a hand in this is Sata, you should have known this by now.

  12. This PF scandal surely means that the entire cabinet is divided into two camps and therefore government operations are grinding to a halt. Ministers are worried where all this is heading to and if their jobs are secure or not.
The PF should never have been entrusted to run the affairs of Zambia, they were not ready and thought it would be easy. At this rate the next three years will be a disaster.

    • why do crap immigrants from ZWD ve sentences for your names? Look at this crap above, ist aromatic alderhyde or formalderhyde in your brains cells.

  13. Where is MAXWELL the hard core think tank of PF? All the mess is unfolding under his watch and we Zambians are not interested in the dirt spewed in the public domain by PF. Give Zambia what you promised its now over 720 days from 90 days of your promises. Maxwell, PF riff ruffs need to give Zambians a break from stale shows of stupidity.

  14. When there is no more to attack, the violent will always turn against each other. Mr Sata has NEVER denounced violence throughout his political career. Flies are attracted to s h i t . He has always been surrounded by riffraffs. These cadres were the cause of violence in MMD until Sata left with them. They have continued to wreck havoc and now GBMs money is funding their fury.

  15. Where was Sata Junior when the hardworking peoples’ man Lubinda was been harassed by the Mmembe group? Wasn’t he part of them? What leadership can he provide now?

  16. Muletasha is right.UPND and MMD have infiltrated PF.Check the behaviour of some Permanent Secretaries and top senior gvt officials.H.E should act to save the Party loved so much by all Zambians.

    • i have never loved this party dude and am Zambian. So am thinking your presumption that it is loved by ‘all Zambians’ is a little bit flawed.

  17. In short, the petition is to have WYNTER KABIMBA FIRED, and FRED Mu MEMBE put in his rightful place.

It’s high time Sata took charge of the PF, not a bunch of criminals.

    • you can have cadres controlling the affairs of government? they yet to kill each other. soon they will axe themselves and loss in 2016. I think Sata wants to resign before 2016 on healthy grounds and this is the results

  18. Please people spare us. How stupid do you think we are, this is PF second year in power and according to the constitution last time i checked the current president has two terms one of which has not even ended. First you started with the president being sick, now its the internal squabbles. Let us all understand this President Micheal Sata won fair and square after many attempts, so let us give him the chance to finish his terms of office before we can saturate the news with all the nonsence going on. For people like GBM who started this nonsence its a pity that the president thinks that man has any caliber as a politician even as a cabinet minister. He is a thug, pompous and uncultured and started by calling other people rifraffs which is the actual name befitting him. Wife beater!!!

  19. GBM may be a thug, but on this fight his strategies are intact.
I would bet my last ngwee that Sata is annoyed with Wynter and Membe but doesnt doesnt want to stop the directly in their schemes.
    1. GBM has the right message (as far PF is concerned), such that anybody opposing Sata endorsements (in PF) looks awkward and foolish – whicheverway youlook at it.
    2. Cash – when Wynter donated K5,000 to 3 churches or so; GBM also went to 3 churches or so and donated K100,000 to each church. Wynter has stopped donations.
    3. Force/violence – while it worked very well against opposition, Membe and Wynter are not prepared for this from within PF. They seem shocked and have recoiled.
    4. Disciplinary pathway – while Wynter is scared to punish endorsers of Sata because of (1) above, GBM fans ‘ve M…

  20. The more pathetic front pf embarks on this destructive in-fighting the better for UPND ever increasing popularity and mmd in Mkaika. Membe continue exposing these pf hyenas in-fighting.

  21. Cont’d (4) above:
I was saying; GBM fans have Mulenga Sata to channel their petition to Sata. This channel is no small coincidence. Can you imagine Wynter discplining Mulenga Sata?
    5. Police – the failure of Police to stop street demonstration via Post newspaper offices, the assault at Northemead school and onward demo to State house speaks volume. There was ample time to stop all this; didnt Kabimba camp have enough time to call IG and why did she not respond?

The next episode will be interesting but something/somebody has to give. Stay tuned.

    • @ Thief Justice, you are very right. In fact if you have read today’s Government sponsored Times of Zambia (2nd September,2013) on the front page to page 2, you see that Sata is behind GBM. Also if you have read today’s Mm’embe editorial in the Post, it’s like Mmembe has realized that there is more to GBM’s endorsement agenda than he previously realized. GBM recently made a statement that they are already aware of Mmembe maneuvers to divide PF party and that at an opportune time they will deal with him. Soon, I foresee someone’s head falling into the guillotine basket politically.

  22. I am not sure Chilufya Sata will accept that petition, when did Mulenga become relevant because mwana wamu “chigololo”.

  23. ALEISA!!! ALEISA!!! ALEISA. I don’t know Y I like this so much. Aleisa HH, the Dontchi Kubeba PF are telling each other that HH is coming

  24. It is very very unfortunate that such wrangles r happenin in this regime, fellow country men n women, boyz n girz, this country was once ruled by Britons during colonial era,so personally I feel all such is as a result of some poor leadership somewhere, coz if someone somewhere is not doing their part, such is xpected.

  25. Don’t blame GBM for his endorsement compaigns. How would u feel de 1’s u picked from dust bins after fattening grow horns and begin to undermine u?Mr Sata must act nd cut off deir tails.flush out fi mmd nd nafi upnd please!Chumbwe watchout u dog!
