2012 Africa Cup winning stars Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala and Stopilla Sunzu on Friday voluntarily handed themselves over to Zambian immigration officials.
The TP Mazembe trio said they have been in Zambia all along and had not crossed back to DR Congo illegally after last Saturdays standoff with FAZ in Lusaka over their release for the October 15 Brazil friendly in Beijing.
Mazembe had insisted that Kalaba and Sinkala had Malaria while Sunzu had a knee injury and could not travel great distances on medical grounds to be examined there before the friendly.
“We were all in Zambia and at our homes and decided to just keep quiet until all the talking had finished,” Sunzu said in Chingola before leaving with his team mates for Kasumbalesa border post.
The trio was this afternoon being questioned by immigration officials although further details on their status have yet to be released.
