Retired Kitwe referee Francis Kasusu has urged FAZ to reinstate the Referees Association of Zambia (RAZ).
RAZ has remained dormant following FAZ’s decision to introduce the Referees Desk at Football House.
The Kabungo Katongo led Referees Desk at FAZ has taken all the responsibilities of RAZ.
But Kasusu said the Referees Desk was not adding value to refeeing in the country.
“FAZ has destroyed RAZ. Kalusha Bwalya – my son and FAZ should allow RAZ to operate, he should not be selfish you know this a democratic country,” he said.
“Referees must have their association and must choose their leaders. RAZ was training referees and looking after them well,” Kasusu said.
He added:”I am ashamed and saddened by the manner in which these young men are handling matches now.”
Prior to the establishing of the Referees Desk, RAZ President Willy Chikuka was a critic of FAZ boss Kalusha Bwalya.
