The Patriotic Front in Northern province has demanded for the immediate expulsion of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba from the ruling party.

The party has since petitioned President Michael Sata and the party’s Central Committee to urgently institute disciplinary action against Mr Mwamba for gross misconduct.

PF Provincial Secretary Evarist Chela handed over the petition to Northern province Minister Freedom Sikazwe in which he levelled several allegations of misconduct by Mr Mwamba.

Mr Chela accused the former Defence Minister of breaking the Oath of Secrecy by disclosing confidential information to the public.

He also alleged that Mr Mwamba has been causing confusion in the running of party affairs in Kasama district by sponsoring a parallel party structure in his constituency.

Mr Chela further charged PF members in the province do not want Mr Mwamba and are ready to face him in a parliamentary by-election once he is expelled from the party.

And receiving the petition, Mr Sikazwe who is also a member of the party’s Central Committee pledged to deliver the petition to President Sata for further action.

He said the PF officials are in order to petition the President and the Central Committee of the ruling party to take action against any erring party member as enshrined in the party constitution.

Mr Sikazwe has since advised Mr Mwamba to stop overrating himself that he was more popular in the party when in fact not.

He further warned Mr Mwamba’s supporters to refrain from advocating for violence in Kasama town or risk being arrested by the police.

Mr Sikazwe said as Provincial Minister he will ensure that law and order prevails in Kasama and the province as a whole.

Meanwhile, PF Provincial Chairman Peter Mwansa has cautioned PF members in Kasama Central Constituency to stop following Mr Mwamba blindly.

He charged that PF was bigger than an individual and that anyone abrogating the party rules will be thrown out unceremoniously.

Earlier, PF members carrying placards denouncing Mr Mwamba held a peaceful demonstration around Kasama town forcing business to come a standstill.

Recently, Kasama Central MP Geoffrey Mwamba resigned as Defence Minister citing the current stand-off between Government and Bemba Royal Establishment over recognition of Henry Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.

  1. They are all campaigning to his majesty for jobs

I don’t think they believe what they are doing, but they are in the ‘shopping window’ with these utterances

    How sad

    Thanks

    • I Saw Sikazwe on ZNBC TV1 speaking with the Cadres. I felt pity for Him and the entire PF. A minister can’t sink so low.

  2. So the ZWD was spot on when they said money had been distributed to certain individuals to decampaign GBM? If I were him, I would resign and leave their party and see where it takes them. Where were these same people when Sata was being arrested for money laundering and GBM stood by him? Watchout Sata uses people and once he has achieved his goal he spits them out.

  3. What has the innocent GBM done to the party? Chela and his cohorts have gone too far by stepping on the RIGHTS of GBM by forcing him to leave PF. Is that being democratic? Let me tell Evarist Chela, the man with either little brains or greed for power and money and fame and to all his cohorts, GBM has done very well by choosing a relative, the paramount chief of the Bemba, the Citimukulu rather than being a minister. Chela and his cohorts have started fighting Ba ChitiMukulu. As Bembas we shall fight for our Chief. Chiefs are born within the royal family, selected by Bashilubemba and anointed by God, and the president is selected by the people and anointed by God. The government does not appoint Chiefs. Read 1 Samuel 15 – King Saul and Samuel. If not careful God can reject PF.

  4. the most useless person in this whole GBM saga is fred mmembe and his fast going under the drain past newspaper. mmembe doesnt realise how fast he is killing pf with his demagogue reporting about GBM.

  5. To find a solution to a problem one needs to find the causes first. Mwamba overrates himself and I agree. Remember this is not the first time he resigned..and we are all aware of the confusions he brought within the party. His resignation has got nothing to do with the ChitiMukulu but his ambitions to ascend to presidency..I don’t agree that he contributed much resources to PF, he was not there when PF was formed in 2001..He was still dinning with MMD, infact if I recall well what brought him to PF was the massive defeat by Lubinda in Kabwata. If I refer u to the bible Jesus praised a woman who gave one coin as offering simply because that was the only money she had…there are people in PF who contributed everything they had such that family survival was by the grace of God…

  6. I strongly believe the Post is supplying imformation to ZWD which it feels cant be done by them. How else would one explain their prediction on the one. Just as they reported it has come to pass.

  7. Very irresponsible government. Workers are employed and at the end of the month are not paid. What a joke! Where is Willie Sanda, Peter Mwansa, E.Chela and Chikwelete to protect the citizens and workers of Luampa District. Where are they to fight for the priorities of unpaid workers? Where is the Patriotic Front in Western Province to demand for immediate expulsion of Luampa member of parliament & minister of the province for the failure to fight for the unpaid government workers? This is the right cause & justified where PF is suppose to demand expulsion of unproductive members not in a case of GBM. See, they are there to fight for their bellies for unjustified cases, pretending they like president Sata, They are snakes in the grass that brought down RB, they can do the same to Sata
