HH accuses Sata of using INDECO to create jobs for family

Share

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema

Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President, Hakainde Hichilema, has accused President Michael Sata of using the creation of Industrial Development Corporation (INDECO) to award jobs to his family and close friends.

Mr. Hichilema says the creation of INDECO will be used as a platform to award jobs to those close to the PF administration.

He says the PF should be focusing on improving the living standards of the Zambian people and not exploiting them.

Mr. Hichilema states that the PF should be concentrating on rebuilding their image for the worst governance they have exhibited and not add salt to the wound.

  1. Kanshi what is wrong with this guy HH? If he is not talking about tribe then it’s family. This guy is obssesed with nepotism and tribalism. He needs some deliverance. He always zeroes in national issues to tribe and family.

    • its you who need deliverance, your head is obsessed with demons HH is talking about awarding Jobs to relatives and close friends. i dont see tribe in there. you must be a confused fellow

    • @wino
before you see a speck in you friend’s eye, remove that log in your eye. you only hear tribe and family tree from HH, because you choose what to hear from him. what do you “choose” to hear from your favourite president “chumbu munshololwa’?

    • At you can see the gimick is not working anymore, HH is not tribalistic you guys made him to be just to put that chimbwi No Plan or Cumbu Mushololwa in state house, at the expense of ruining mother Zambia. Can you people grow up and start being patriotic. Not only serving your narrow tribal minds … One Zambia One Nation. Zambia is not a bemba state please!

    • @ Wimu

You are the one who needs some serious spiritual deliverance since you only notice tribalism and nepotism in all sensible statements issued by HH.

Any sensible person who reads HH’s statements appreciates the valid contributions he makes over various issues. As a sensible opposition leader HH issues statements that are meant to keep the PF govt in check over various policy statements. This is the role of opposition leaders in any normal democratic country.

    • Believe me, its you who need deliverance not HH. HH talks more sense and facts than lies than any other presidents just like Mwanawasa- a true Zambian. Its you who is tribal not HH. HH did not abandon his language. He speaks one of the 7 major Zambian languages. Research proved that those who abandoned their languages and speak any of the 7 major Zambia languages are obsessed with tribalism like you-research proved.

    • @Wimu
Tribalism is not a big issue in Zambia. You will only think its a big issue if you read and believe whatever M’membe writes. Just analyze your neighbors by tribe and you will discover that they are of different tribes. This is not the case in countries with serious tribal issues. people kill each other.
In Zambia people who are tribal are very petty. if you ask them why they don’t like the other tribe the common answer is ‘ When they meet each other they start using their language despite my presence’. I don’t think this is something that should divide us. Surely you don’t export people from different tribes to behave exactly the same.
Let us learn to love one another.

    • Believe me, its you Wimu who need deliverance not HH.

    • Wapala wiso you cannot make sense of the truth, just look at all the appointments local or in diplomatic service all are connected to him and his ministers so HH has a point. Do not comment if you have not done your research. Ubupuba

    • @Wimu,
First of all, what do you mean by ‘kanshi’?
You are so imbedded in tribalism that all you think about and plan are based on tribe which is the main reason why your government is such a disaster.
Do you mean you can’t see why Sata is so keen on Indeco? You know it because it is going to benefit tribally inclined people like yourself.

    • HH says the truth as it is . He has no one to please by sugar coating his statement on real issues affecting people up down the country. If you go through all the statements he has issued since PF come into power,99.9% of them have come to fruition.

Only f.o.ols would take HH statements lightly. He is the man of the moment to restore what Zambia has lost under Sata and PF.

What IMF said in their damning report about Zambia’s grime economic out look is exactly what HH has been consistently warning the PF about. Today IMF has vindicated HH again.

UPND and HH camp? I am in.

    • Its common knowledge that hh will not support plans of reinstating institutions like INDECO,his wealth is as a result of PRIVATIZATION,how do you expect him to support INDECO?

  2. If it is real job creation that will add value to the country then its okay. You need to tell us the disadvantages of INDECO and not just condeming the move, thats how you will win the hearts of people.

    • you know the disadvantages already. why was it closed? why asking the obvious. he is condemning bringing back something which failed sometime back. what value is it going to add to the economy? its only you close friends who will be employed in there to loot

    • @Bwalya Chiselema, INDECO was closed because as Zambians we don’t trust our own ideas. Chiluba thought, listening wholesomely to IMF’s privatisation programme will solve all Zambia’s problems. You of course agree that 20 years of neo-liberal economic policies has not helped us to build on industries in Zambia. Private Sector has failed to create new factories and sustainable jobs. It is time government created a system to generate jobs. INDECO is one such mechanism.

Sata will go one day, it will be up to the youth to take Zambian ideas for job creation forward. It is the young people that ought to manage these things diligently. We now have a lot of educated managers who will ensure that whatever industries INDECO will develop are properly managed, private sector style. BE HAPPY!

    • INDECO & ZIMCO collapsed the economy of Zambia during the Kaunda times when Alex Bwalya Chikwanda and Micheal Chilufya Sata were serving in the kaunda government. Parastatals companies under these two holding companies were not performing and had over employed.Money meant for social development was channeled to these companies where there was no accountability. These companies had no capacity to ran on their own and were massively abused by the party in power UNIP, Pilferage was the order of the day. ZCBC and NIEC had more employees than stock or merchandises to sell,UBZ had more employees-conductors,drivers,inspectors,mechanics than the fleet of buses. There were no spares parts in UBZ to repair/ service the fleet of buses.SUPALOAF had more employees than the bread and buns they baked.

    • Zambians are very dull.. am sorry to say this.. cannot read or do some basic research.. run their little mouthes like they know what they are talking about.. let me educate a few chaps like @Chiselema and @Abena Diggers… INDECO was / is not a ka kantemba like the tuma companies you worked for. It was the industrial engine that built the majority of manufacturing plants and buildings you see today especially those you think are international companies.. DAIRY PRODUCE BOARD (DPB) is what you call PARMALAT today.. Zambia had no dairy industry at all 1964. INDECO built it. accolades given to KK for the success of DPB. ka Chiluba cut a deal with Bonita SA and sold.. Refined Oil Product (ROP) – now Amanita (LSK)/Gourok (NDL)- INDECO

  3. What H.H, says is entirely True. Just a
another Zamtrop for our corrupt shameless leaders.
Indeco = RECIPE FOR A FAILED STATE!!!

  4. The stapler you can’t be that dull wanting someone to tell you disadvantages
When we already been down that road before or maybe you still an infant. God
Gave us instincts to know something is not right we don’t have to waste another
40 years doing something that failed when there are billion other alternatives.
Right now the economy is not doing fine and you introduce indeco into this bad
Economy it will just make it worse. So many things have to be fixed and sorted out
Before we can think about indeco, like hospitals, broke treasury, agriculture, inflation
    Paying back loans, unpaid salaries

    • Chan what alternatives. world over, countries are using Indeco like models to develpe. can u mention atleast one alternative?

  5. HH’s aim is to show his bitterness by condemning what ever the government does. Indeco projects to create a million jobs. do u think all these will be sata’ relatives? sata has really scored here. he deserves a standing ovation. HH is so disgruntled that all he dreams, see, farts and ejaculates are PF success that he gets nightmares and suffocates form the same. HH u are a dog. u don’t mean well to zambia. give us tangible reasons why we shouldn’t implement Indeco other than using emotions and madness. ******we

    • Please educate me on where bene sata intend to get the resources to run INDECO. Where you even born the time INDECO was in existence and brought misery to the Zambian people because it was running on borrowed money? IMF have released a reporting issuing a warning based on our borrowing. The establishment of INDECO will require more borrowing so what standing ovation is this you speak of when enlightened people and people who see past their noses and have done forecasts and projections have already concluded that this INDECO business will be a drain on resources? HH is only saying what a lot of people immediately said when this INDECO nonsense was announced. Jobs for relatives and friends that he promised. Open your eyes my friend. Be objective.

    • Silozi, current failures by PF to run GRZ are performance indicators that PF cannot run INDECO. HH speaks facts for voiceless

    • Tell us which companies will be created under INDECO that will create a million jobs when already parastatal companies like ZCCM HI and others are falling to tick. For your own information INDECO was a holding company which was directionless. You are PF ask Mr chomba owner of EuroAfrica buses servicing who is your fellow pf member as at one time the managing director of UBZ or Mr Matongo he was at CH (contract haulage) they will tell you more of INDECO.

    • There is nothing wrong with Indeco. Don’t be dull. what is required is for it to be done differently. let us analyze where we went wrong with the past one. it was basically political interference and there was no proper legal frame to guard against such. we can not run away form the fact that iNDECO can bring about prosperity if handled properly. what is required now is come with a legal frame work to address political interference, management recruitment, performance management, etc. as a nation we are exporting alot of raw materials, from tobacco to gold. how is it a bad idea to come up with industries that will be adding value to these raw materials? this will inturn create more jobs for zambia, more export earning, more revenue to the government as the tax base would have been…

    • Thats where the problem is Silozi, saying things should be done differently is all well and good but as Janzakumbele has articulated, current economic indicators show that your government is clueless. The calibre of people in government now is worse than what was under UNIP. Bene Sata and friends are incapable of strategic thought. Do you believe any feasible studies and cost assessments were carried out when Sata was creating districts left right and centre? Already we are hearing that some projects are slowing down because money is not being released. A lot of farmers are yet to receive farming inputs and Zambia recorded its first trade deficit since 2009! My friend, have you read what IMF have had to say about our economy’s direction? Why can’t you be objective kanshi??

  6. H.H at it again! Tribe, Tribe bwana won’t take you anywhere just work had bwana to mobilise your party that is going into extinction so that you can cover the whole country and be voted in 2055. Lets give the President chance to realize his dream of creating more jobs for the Zambian people unlike a situation of being negative without offering proper solutions.

    • Go back to pre-school. There’s no single mention of the word tribe in the article. You choose to put words into HH’s mouth in an effort to portray him as tribalist, yet we know who is the worst tribalist is. Since you are a tribalist yourself just check the appointments in cabinet, foreign service and other appointments made by your pay master and tell me if that’s normal to you.

    • Go back to pre-school
There’s no single mention of the word “tribe” in the article. In your attempt to mask your dictator’s naked tribalism, you deliberately want to paint HH black. Just check the list of Minsiters, Permanent Secretaries, embassy officials and tell me if that’s right? You love throwing stones when you live in glass houses. Advice your paymaster to make things right, otherwise 2016, kuya bebele!!

  7. There is no way such a big thing can only accomodate Munshololwa and his people definitely it will create employment if its economically viable I don’t know but at least people will be able to bring home bread and butter for kids. HH problem also he likes condemning w/out alternative solution

  8. Sata and his economic adviser KK will ruin Zambia. KK tried the Indeco idea and it failed miserably and now he wants it back. That is what you get when you get fossils running the affairs of the country.

  9. @wimu
You are very much aware that jobs in foreign service have been awarded mostly to Sata’s close relatives. 90% of those being sworn-in are either relatives or related to concubines of top PF echelon. What will make INDECO succeed if President interfere with operations at FRA?

    • Funny how all these people condemning HH for being a tribalist have no answer when confronted with the naked tribalism of the man they support. If they accuse HH of speaking tribalism, what of the man in Plot One who is openly practicing it? They won’t answer because deep down they have nothing to say! Mauless.

  10. What HH is saying is true. The recently advertised jobs at Ministry of Finance were mainly awarded to relatives. People with massive work experience were left out. What will make the INDECO case different?

    • #Mile – give us the details of relatives that were given jobs and we can all know. Otherwise I would be wary of your statement

  11. only *****s can support this indeco crap the population was less than 7million at that time only a few people had jobs and it was people that were pro kaunda and this stupid dull idea is a unip idea very dull and no brain to move forward why go back to vomit atase

  12. As for under 5 matuvi diaper master, I can only blame your parents for using expired contraceptives to let you drop off your mum’s malodourous & fetid pussie.Get a life with your school of bitterness.

    • @Haleisa halenia aka luapula premeir, shansha, wimu and other TRIBALISTS. How is the matuvi in your mouth today?! Arent you ashamed that we have seen through your tribalism?

    • Missed you lover. Heard you went to sample d!ck in southern province coz you heard they give it good. Anyway, i’ll examine the size of your a$$hole tonight when we meet though i suspect it could be true. Remember i commented on the whistling sound coming from your b.um area when we were walking in the park. I now suspect the hole is wide open which means these guys really may have bigger d!cks than mine!! Please Haleisa, I dont wanna lose you!! I’ll get an enlargement, I promise!!

    • Iwe Sinwela! Leave my lover alone! ala! Haleisa Halenya only deals with ama Homo so if you are not a faggot like him and me, please do not comment, waumfwa??? mxxxcm! It’s ok sweety Haleisa, I have told him off!

  13. The PF is not serious about INDECO in the real sense. It is just a 2016 campaign gimmick (Donchi kubeba part II) which will be discarded as soon as they are given a second term in 2016. Even Fred Mmembe himself knows very well that INDECO is useless for any liberalised economy like Zambia that is why he writes those extremely long editorials with little misleading substance in support so that you get tired of reading and just leave the editorial alone. For example, what will INDECO do that Zesco can’t do now on its own? INDECO was dependant on a system of cross-subsidisation of industry by industry when Copper prices were high and Zambia owned those mines. Today where will govt get money to subsidise politically inclined and inefficient industries? Even just the salaries of those…

    • executives to run INDECO, where are they going to get that money? From another loan Chikwanda will get from Europe after being given a hefty commission? Are they going to renationalise mines? If not then it is a non-starter. Let them conduct a serious and independent feasibility study on the re-establishment of INDECO and then we can talk. They are trying another donchi kubeba on the masses with the massive unemployment numbers existing in the country. They want people to give them a second term with the hope that INDECO will come and rescue their situation. But we are ahead of them. Let them try something else. But for now up to after 2016, they will establish a head office for INDECO with a skeleton staff of very well paid chaps to deceive Zambians that better things are coming.

  14. My conclusion was correct. Any story involving HH and you have PF chaps all over talking shallow nonsense like tribe. I have been on the other story where IMF have warned about our debt and so far almost 30 comments later, there is yet to be a comment from a PF chap. The reason is such subjects require analysis, intelligence and a sober mind, something people like Teny and Mighty Shansha do not possess. I challenge you to go defend your government under the IMF story, please! Unless muli fyaiche fresh out of secondary school.

    • Correct!!!
What surprises me is that reading through the short article there’s no single mention of the word “tribe”. Strange how desperate the PF cadres have become.

    • They can’t analyze issues! Grade 2 drop-outs (like their hero in Plot One) who are more comfortable discussing personalities than issues. Their country is slowly drowning in debt and economic mismanagement while their energies are misapplied on HH. But when the Titanic sinks, as it already is, there will be nowhere to hide. You will tighten your belts until your chests pop-out and your eyes see stars. You ain’t seen nothing yet, children.

  15. Expect SITET to come soon. For you who were not there during the dread SITET times it simply stand for SPECIAL INVESTIGATION TEAM FOR ECONOMY AND TRADE.

  16. HH here agrees with the idea of creating jobs for our people thru initiatives like INDECO. but he has serious misgivings with the don’t kubeba syndrome in Sata. Infact any sane individual by now knows that PF can not be trusted with their pronouncements. you don’t even need to go far just ask yourself what is happening at ZAMTEL or even Zambia Railway then you have your answer.

  17. @Silozi, I quote from your submission-iNDECO can bring about prosperity if handled properly.
The million dollar question is IF HANDLED PROPERLY. That is what makes private sector tick and parastatals fail. Show me one parastatal that added value to our daily life from 1970 to 1991 when MMD came to power and started getting rid of these burning tyres in our necks.
HH is very right and IDC will not only be a drain on our resources, create blotted cadrism, and above all chase the private investment out of Zambia. Don’t be surprised if prices of everything go up and parallel economy multiplies many times.
Tighten your seat belt for a rough ride.

    • my friend the catch phrase there is legal frame work. in the past there was no legal frame work. u are talking of private sector thriving. why dot we have, for instance, the private sector adding value to raw materials like gem stones? these companies would rather ship raw materials to their country of origin so they can contribute to the well being of their economy. let us do the same by setting up businesses that will add value to raw material. believe me this will stimulate competition with external markets that they would rather set up businesses right in zambia.

  18. @Mwelesa yafweni Zambia, INDECO failed and IDC will fail because of too much politicking and state interference. As for no private sector venturing into various industries, blame for that also lies with Government Interference and too much petty jealousy and Uncertainty created by successive governments. As a nation we have lacked well defined industrialisation policy, strong constitution (people oriented) and independent judiciary.
Despite above facts, many entrepreneurs have risen and started many blooming and successful companies- Zambezi Portland Cement, Chilanga Cement expansion, Zambia Sugar expansion, Nigerians getting into cement, financial sector expansion with many foreign banks. Government shall create enabling environment, create motivators for diversification into…

  19. Bitter Chitala lectures INDECO theories and some University i wont mention . Bitter Chitala knows that without INDECO HH would not have made his money. The only politiician that makes sense real sence is Chipimo

  20. Mighty Shansha, if HH missed out on Vice Presidency, he shall be happy, looking at the sorry state of affairs of VP (Guy Scott), Ministers (public rebuke) and one-way downward spiral of the economy, social development, political freedom and law and order.

  21. I’m not an HH supporter but he is right on this one. After all it takes a Hippopotamus to know what the crocodile does down there

  22. Well, when you hear Govt is recycling old ideas, should get worried.
Best is to find why Indeco and other parastatal failed and perhaps can come up with improved version of Indeco. Private-public partnership for example could be an option. Recycling old ideas without in depth analysis is stetting oneself for failure from word go. HH is thus right becuase as it stands, now new ideas are coming and Indeco will be run old UNIP era parastatals that in the end failed and all senior and middle managers were related to UNIP central committee.

  23. The idea was superbab. But de pipo who involved nd dat is wat hh seem to be saying. Therefore bringing it back is a good idea though it is extremely vital to learn from the past.Pf must ignore critics like hh anyway.Nothing positive 4 u fro him.

  24. The noble thing HH could do here is to spell out reasons why INDECO did not work then and why it cant work now. On top of that, he should provide tanjible alternatives to creating jobs. Using the argument of providing jobs for family or tribla is really shallow. At the time, when Sata is not really a saint in Bemba land, the least HH should do is distant himself from tribal and personal attacks and use a uniting voice befitting of an aspiring president. It getting boring getting the same lines.

  25. President-Hichilema
    Vice President- Hakainde
    Defence Minister- Hamoonga
    Home affairs- Himoonga
Other ministries- Mooya, Chimuka, Hamabwe, Hilembo e.tc

  26. BA HH PLEASE YOUR COMMON SENSE.

WITH OR WITHOUT INDECO THE PRESIDENT COULD STILL FIND JOBS FOR HIS FAMILY.

DID RB NEED INDECO TO MAKE HIS CHILDREN INSTANT MILLIONAIRES?
TODAY RB’S CHILDREN USE CHARTERED PLANES INSTEAD OF FLYING COMMERCIAL PLANES. THEY STAY IN POSH SUBURBS OF JOHANNESBURG SANDTON.

DID CHILUBA NEED INDECO TO MAKE YOU A MILLIONAIRE?

  27. Wimu. You are thick and sick! Tribal, tribal! Leave HH alone. He has been consistent in his political career. Am sure Senior Chief Bright Nalubamba is disappointed with my relative UKWA. Except I don’t propagate tribalism but reason.

  28. Luapula Premier, how is your relative responding at State house? India, UK & South Africa are afraid of accepting him as apatient in their hospitals coz he not come back.

  29. Luapula Premier, how is your relative responding at State house? India, UK & South Africa are afraid of accepting him as a patient in their hospitals coz he MAY not come back

  30. @Musonda

YOU POSTED SIMILAR GIBBERISH IN LT JUST BEFORE THE 2011 ELECTIONS.

WHAT WILL CHANGE IN 2016 OR 2021?

  31. IF HH REALLY HAS BRAINS, DOES A PRESIDENT OF A COUNTRY NEED INDECO TO ENRICH HIS FAMILY? REALLY? WHEN THE PRESIDENT CAN SIMPLY ASK THE FAMILY TO REGISTER SHADOW COMPANIES OR TO INVOLVE THEM IN THE FRINGES LIKE HH’S CORRUPT BUDDY, RB, DID?

I COULD HAVE PARTIALLY AGREED WITH HIM, IF HE HAD ASSOCIATED INDECO WITH CADRES! SURELY, NOT THE PRESIDENT’S FAMILY WITH INDECO!

    • What happened to Mansa batteries?Did it achieve its purpose of being set up in Mansa.Whose relatives are mostly in diplomatic mission HH or Sata/Kaseba?
      Next up NAMBOARD!

  32. Imagine Sata being the chairman of Indeco. Your guess is good as mine. The one only qualification for you to be employed is obvious. Sata is not supposed to be called the president. I would rather call him a stupid prefect. Is zamtel, ZR, ZESCO and others making profit? Who was appointing managers and CEO to these companies?

  33. at MWELESA YAFWENI ZAMBIA where were you when we stood in long ques looking for meali meal, sugar, bread, detergent soap, bathing soap, and poor women smuggled into the country buttercup margarine in their thighs. I bet you where not even a sperm. No wonder your support for indeco!

  34. me am tonga and i breath tonga air ii ove tonga guys and H.H is product of tonga land why not be tribal and support my man
