Former Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka District chairperson Goodson Banda has launched his campaign for his re-election with a pledge to continue where he left from in his tenure of office once he wins in the polls.
The election of the PF Lusaka District chairmanship is slated for Saturday the 25th of January.
Mr. Banda says he is also confident to retain the position of the party’s Lusaka District chairmanship because he is aware that people in the District have already seen what he was able to do at the time that he held the position.
Speaking this afternoon when he addressed his supporters that included constituency chairpersons from the District, Mr. Banda also pledged to restore discipline in the District once he is elected to the position of District chairman.
He says if there will be any members from the other team who will remain adamant to respecting his authority once he is elected, such party members will be exposed and that they will have no room in party.
Speaking earlier PF Chawama constituency chairperson Robert Chikwelete who is also Mr. Banda’s campaign manager said electing of Mr. Banda back to the position of District chairperson will be the only way of saying sorry for the confusion that led to his ousting.
Mr. Chikwelete says having held other leadership positions in the party as well as once being the mayor of Lusaka, he is confident that Mr. Banda is the right individual to hold the position of party Lusaka District chairperson because he has already show good leadership qualities.
Other aspiring candidates that seemingly have shown interest to contest the position of the PF Lusaka District chairmanship include Mulenga Sata the son of the republican President Michael Sata.

Do such characters really aspire for positions in order to serve the people or to serve themselves ? I think the world but Zambia in particular is in deep trouble because we have got a lot opportunists. They have taken politics as a way of making a living and they do not realise that there are other avenues where they can still make a meaningful living and contribution to Zambia and the world.
These Cowboy’s, Banda & Chikwelete, are “Thugs” that should be allowed NOWHERE near any Democratic process. Unfortunately I’ve just remembered P.F, would NOT know what Democracy is, even if it hit them in the face!
