Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s dramatic entry in Parliament this afternoon momentarily disrupted debate on the floor of the house as he stole the limelight.
The Kasama central Member of Parliament who walked into the house at about 15:00 hours 30 minutes after the house was in session attracted cheers from Members of Parliament mostly from the opposition who called him by his initials GBM.
This forced Liuwa Member of Parliament Situmbeko Musokotwane who was debating on the floor of the house to pause as the Kasama central lawmaker proceeded to take his seat on the backbench amid continuing cheers.
Some Members of Parliament could be heard referring to Mr Mwamba as ‘umwaume’.
Mr Mwamba returned to Parliament as a backbencher as the house resumed sitting today having resigned from his ministerial position as defence Minister over the impasse surrounding the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu by government.

GBM should be careful. With these charges being levelled against him they might cripple him financially by freezing his accounts. It goes without saying that the Panga Fighters are out for blood and Mwamba must pull his cards to his chest.
@Cracker what would you rather he does? Crawls back to the almighty little god called MCS? He begs for his ministerial position back? What does he do? He deserts his relatives? Kindly offer him constructive advise from your humble point of view.
These are the people we want and not boot lickers like kabimba, coffins were flying on his head by demonstrators so that he resigns but could not. GBM resigns on principal and we hope to see other principled men to follow suit.

you are daft, GBM is a strategist, by staying in PF, he causes more confusion & challenges their authority – they can’t really smear him – the police cases are just ways to intimidate him – they cant afford him standing in the dock spilling the beans.
By staying, leaves PF without a barometer by which to determine how big the shift of support will be till the last minute b4 any election, if they kick him out, this will anger more in Lubemba kingdom, who will then shift their support – as he will been seen to have committed no crime, but humbly given up his ministerial position on principle alone!

GBM is not a fool as to resign on his own accord from PF the platform on which he got to parliament, and he is also not stopping PF from expelling him. By not resigning GBM is telling us that he and his electorate have no animosity issues between them but it is the leadership in Lusaka that has issues with him. Let the top PF party organs go ahead and expel GBM what is holding them back?

The biggest message that is that GBM stood by his noble principles to support his Royal Chiefs and the integrity of the Bemba people. He resigned his Ministerial position based on civilized principles. GBM has nothing to lose financially. But many PF Ministers and MPs have opted to remain silence because they are merely servicing their Parliamentary gratuities.
As for Kenneth Maduma, he has ruined his journalistic profession by participating in a deceptive Project to tell Zambians that Sata was in UK. Yet ZNBC failed to show photos/videos of Sata’s arrival in London. The truth will soon sprout.

Decisions are not supposed to be made based on other people predicaments (BY). GBM has not formed a political party and also loosing out money should not be seen as a bad thing if driven by conviction and not greed.
