Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has reminded Republican President Michael Sata that he is not the first one to be in government and should not abuse human rights.

Speaking during a media Briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Hichilema says it’s unfortunate that of the five presidents the country has had; only President Sata wants to allegedly destroy the democracy of the nation.

Mr. Hichilema has narrated how his entourage was hounded out of Eastern Province where they had gone to meet party members as part of party mobilization.

He said that it was uncalled for, for the Police to tear gas mourners at a funeral house in Mambwe after suspecting that some UPND members were attending the funeral.

Mr Hichilema stated that it is shocking that even after adhering to the provisions of the public order Act by giving Police seven days notice, they were forced to cut short their tour after President Sata allegedly ordered Police to hound him out of Chipata.

The UPND leader has also revealed that he is reliably informed that a new radio station allegedly belonging to PF cadres will soon be registered and be granted a national wide coverage, wondering what criteria has been used to give the radio station in question a national coverage license when Radio QFM and Radio Phoenix’s national wide coverage licenses were cancelled.

Speaking at the same briefing, Political Analyst Dante Saunders commended Mr Hichilema for retreating from Mambwe District stating that this prevented more people from being injured.

  1. How does a credible person go to address a press conference on hearsay?
    Without any iota of proof?
Didn’t anyone in Mambwe move with camera phones for photo or video evidence?
You organize a trip to a place and come back with a baggage trash/lies.

  2. HH says,

“I am reliably informed that a new radio station allegedly belonging to PF cadres will soon be registered and be granted a national wide coverage, wondering what criteria has been used to give the radio station in question a NATIONAL COVERAGE LICENSE when Radio QFM and Radio Phoenix’s national wide coverage licenses were cancelled/”

HH, why did you not smuggle copies of registration & licenses just to add credence to your lies?

  3. SAUNDERS: the so-called political analyst, now licking his ego, after failing, quite lamentably, to correctly analyse the political landscape in Katuba.

  4. My grannies, in-laws, my dad, mum, nephews, nieces, my kids and everyone in the homestead have never voted for 15years.
But we are busy making arrangements to vote in 2016 in appreciation for our new district, 3 x new schools and 2 x clinics which ba Sata is constructing in my region.

  5. POLICE TEAR GASSED MOURNERS AT A FUNERAL HOUSE IN MAMBWE-HH???

HH, you can make your story credible if you can provide us with events around the crime scene such as:

    The name of the deceased.
Why and who invited the police to the funeral house?
Political affiliation of the bereaved? Of the deceased, if any?
Comments/statements from the bereaved? Pictures of the fracas?
Finally, don’t u move with any news crew?

  6. What is happening is really bad, cost of living is rising so high, the kwacha is falling like a rock, soon fuel will go up triggering yet more price hikes. More people will find themselves in abject poverty, and the rule of law only works for you if you belong to the ruling class, otherwise you can even be tear-gassed when you are busy mourning a loved-one, causing more misozi lomba ka!!

  7. HH,are you normal,or something is bad.Is your house in order.Do you talk to your wife,or do your wife chat with you.

  8. Homo , Fred m’membe, can get anything he wants , in Zambia. Sata ,will never say NO , otherwise he is gone in the bin.

  9. @Kwanu

Please advice HH to employ all the faculties of hi brains, not to react on impulse but on hard facts.
The newspaper notice is nothing but is meant to invite anyone with objections to form company to raise them.
In any case HH does not read the Post. HH at his level, is schooled enough to react only on hard facts. Let him grow up.

  10. an 1diot is an 1diot no matter how much image building you do on him. surely this country is becoming zimbabwe re-incarnated. the kwacha is tumbling like prostitutes who were ********** by some well known president of some african country. surprisingly this govt has some 1diots who claim to be educated yet there is nothing to show for it. wasted energy. any way, time is our biggest asset, just one and half years to go

  11. First thing first.HH this World has become smaller. Why not have advance part in your entourage to give you the much need info in the Province you are bound to visit.Secondly you were told that the Districts where you want to address public rallys they have got issues with the courts?
Why are you endangering innocent people as a Leader? We have camera phones which can even zoom from afar and get that as evidence. But rushed back to Lusaka and calls a press briefing which has no substance at all.Why can’t you go to Kalulushi, wusakile,Buchi,Chililabombwe,Lukulu,Washishi,Kan’qunuq’nu.If you claim of being as LEADER .Have you ever heard of that place called KAN’QUNUQ’NU in Western Province? You politicians do not cheat us on you cheap talk.
Do not rush to radios.Elyo nakaso wuleke HH.

  12. Some people’s comments leave much to be desired, why are some bloggers so senselesly hateful even to see what is right and what is wrong. Chumbu is a wrong president for zambia and we have all seen that for our selves. It is a well known fact that currently the only altenative credible enought is only Haleisa Haleisa.
