ACC in Kitwe arrest a man for impersonationation

The Anti-Corruption Commission in Kitwe has arrested a Man for impersonating an Officer of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Thomas Phiri, of PLOT No. 4092 Maina Soko road in Kalulushi District has been charged with Two (2) Counts of Impersonating an Anti-Corruption Commission Officer contrary to section 18 (a) of the Anti-Corruption Act number 3 of 2012.

Details in the first count are that on 15th March 2014 in Kitwe, Phiri falsely presented himself to be a person employed as an Investigations Officer in the Anti-Corruption Commission and assumed to have had the power to receive and investigate allegations of corruption from the Zambian public, and did actually receive a complaint from a Mr. Andrew Njelekwa, a Landlord of Plot Number 953B in Kitwe’s Mukuba Natwange and did sign an Eviction Notice for a certain Clement Mwansa.

In the second count details are that on 30TH March 2014 in Kalulushi District, Phiri falsely presented himself to be a person employed as an Investigations Officer in the Anti-Corruption Commission and assumed to have had the power to receive and investigate allegations of corruption from the Zambian public and did actually receive a complaint from Dr. Vuttah Geoffrey a Veterinary Doctor in the Department of Veterinary, a matter or transaction which concerned the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Phiri appeared in Court yesterday, 10th April 2014, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He has since been released on bail and trial commences soon.

Impersonation of an ACC Officer is a serious offence under the Laws of Zambia and members of the public are warned to desist from such unlawful conduct, as the consequences of doing so are dire.

  2. Let him work ,bcoz there is not jobs in our country,no job creation that we expected after voting PA.same of us we are now working in the foreign lands bcoz of that.I don’t blame mr T .he is creating a job for him which govement is not doing for him.

  3. Guys just be careful with spellings. impersonation has been written as “Impersonationation” in your literature above.
