Ex-Zambia international midfielder Jericho “Tanker” Shinde has fumed after being left out of the legends team to face Members of Parliament in a game to mark first republican President Kenneth Kaunda’s 90th birthday this month.
Shinde is not part of the initial 18-member Zambia legends squad to face Lawmakers on 28th April at The National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
The Nkana legend and veteran coach said it was an insult for the organisers of the match to snub him.
Shinde questioned the criteria used to come up with the squad that has ex-Zambia players Fighton Simukonda, Linos Makwaza, Kalusha Bwalya and Andrew Tembo among others.
“It is an insult that I have been left out of that squad because I played in the KK 11 team,” he said.
“I know there are some people who are against me. I want to know the organisers so that I can do shadow boxing with them,” he added.
Shinde played for Zambia between 1981 and 1987.
He coached Nkana, Power Dynamos, Kalulushi Moderns Stars and Afrisport.

I hope iot wont be bad omed opening a stadium with politicians yaaba. For the other team its fine but politicians, i hope the stadium wont be political because politics in Zambia has failed us to the core no politician currently can say he has done that or that except Mwanawasa and Magande who brought sanity and stability to the kwacha. Sata is trying with his infrastructure anyway but the his minister of finance and BOZ chiefs are suspects in the game of kwacha. So politicians can you leave this game to all old heroes. Because other key palyers missing their are Kfredrick Kashimoto, we need them. I am sure we organise 36 football heroes not politicans.
