Zesco cut Zanaco’s lead

Share

Zanaco’s lead at the top of the FAZ Super League has been reduced to just goal difference after their 2-2 draw at Power Dynamos in a Week 14 match at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday.

The Bankers are now on 30 points together with Zesco United who thumped Nakambala Leopards 3-1 in Ndola.

Zanaco twice came from behind to force a draw against Power at Arthur Davies.

Midfielder Richard Kasonde headed Power in front after 12 minutes when he finished Lubambo Musonda’s cross created from the left wing.

Ten minutes later midfielder Kabuku Maunga equalised for Zanaco after a goal-mouth scramble as the two teams went into the break tied 1-1.

Three minutes after the restart Power went 2-1 up when Kasonde finished off a Govenda Simwala free kick that had hit the post.

Power were heading for a win before Davy Daka poked in an equaliser nine minutes from full time.

Power are now on 26 points from 14 matches.

  1. Educate me on goal difference. What i know is that the less you have the lower you are.But Zesco is above Zanaco.

  2. Red Arrows has 17 not the points stated and then Zanaco is on top and not the way its been stated on your table. So according to my table the following is the way things have to stand:

    1 Zanaco 14 9 3 2 34 12 +21 30
    2 ZESCO United 13 9 3 1 21 10 +11 30
    3 Power Dynamos 14 7 5 1 24 29 +15 27
    4 NAPSA Stars 14 7 4 3 16 8 +8 25
    5 Konkola Blades 14 7 2 5 16 14 +2 23
    6 National Assembly 14 5 6 3 13 11 +2 21
    7 Nkana 10 5 5 0 17 3 +14 20
    8 Green Eagles 14 4 5 5 12 11 +1 17
    9 Red Arrows 13 4 5 5 14 14 0 17
    10 Green Buffaloes 14 4 3 7 18 23 -3 15
    11 Nchanga Rangers 13 4 2 8 13 19 -9 14
    12 Indeni 14 2 6 6 14 21 -5 12
    13 Nakambala Leopards 13 3 2 7 7 18 -7 11
    14 Konkola Mine P… 13 2 5 6 9 22 -13 11
    15 Kabwe Warriors 13 2 4 7 7 22 -15 10
    16 Roan United14 2 3 8 12 21 -5 9

  3. This not Barclays Premiur League. Here in Lusaka the goal diffrence is between the number of goals each scores. In this case ZESCO has scored more goals than ZANACO.
