Opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development President Charles Milupi says he does not agree with the sentiments that opposition party leaders discussing President Michael Sata’s wellbeing are trying to gain political mileage.

Mr. Milupi says this is because the office of the President is a constitutional one and people in the country have the constitutional right to know the health of status of the President.

Mr. Milupi says his argument on the importance of the office of the President is also attested to in the fact that when the substantive President is away, the constitution provides for someone to act in his place.

He has told Qfm News that in view of the fact that President Sata has not been seen or heard in public for such a long period of time justifies people’s concerns on his health status.

Mr Milupi says it is also important to note that if in fact the President is unwell, the government is missing out on the sympathy that the people of Zambia are able to render to their President.

He says government is in fact rendering a de-service to itself if it is giving an impression that the President is well and working when in fact not.

Mr Milupi adds that government should also be mindful of the important of the office of the President and the importance of having a President who is in good health.

He says the country’s constitution also attest to this fact where it provides for the establishment of a medical board to examine the health status of the Head of State in an event he is incapacitated.

FDD President Edith Nawakwi recently accused politicians dwelling on President Michael Sata’s health of trying to gain political capital.

  1. Bla bla bla.Nawakwi was right. She simply meant that there are more important things that you can talk about as the opposition rather than concentrating on that old man`s health.

    • Mr Big Brains – I think you should change your name, replace one part with Small. If the Presidents health was not important, it would not have been specifically mentioned in the constitution. And the constitution would not have given guidelines with what to do in the case that the President is incapacitated mentally, physically or emotionally.
Zambians are entitled to know the health status of the President – particularly when it’s quite clear that he is right now not of sound mind or body. What issues can be more important than that when the well-being of the country is on shaky grounds?

    • Opposition or just positions? What a bunch of funny little brains, in the so big mouthed opposition parties still in denial. Get lives and debate big issues regarding development than day after day, dwelling on the same issue(s).

  3. I am tired of this nonsense!

I wish Sata would just DIE so Zambia can move on and not waste more time on this stupid fool.

He has wasted enough of the Nations resources and energy. I am sick of this *****!

  4. OK so do you think we should have HIV-ridden HH as president just because he is a bit young? He has no skills except earning money for his own pocket.. Give a break and get life. Thanks

    • Zigolo what ever you call your self behave yourself.HH has no HIv but Sata has thats why is on a sick bed.so please correct your thinking.Sorry for you my dear HH is health and he is doing well finacialy. He is not a womaniser and a sigar smoker, but a christian SDA .

  5. it seems like the pf is doing so well that political party leaders hv no way of critisizing them in stead they have taken the health of mr sata as a thing to critisiz. Come on we don’t win elections like that.
