Janza to take over from Patrice-Kalusha

Share

Kalusha Bwalya has confirmed that FAZ wants Honour Janza to take over as Chipolopolo caretaker coach following the resignation of Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle.

Beaumelle has left the Zambia top job to join Ivory Coast as an assistant to Herve Renard.

Janza is currently serving as FAZ technical director.

Kalusha said FAZ will meet soon to chart the way forward after Beaumelle’s departure.

“Just the same as we did when Herve Renard left Patrice was in charge and now that Patrice is not here the technical team is still there. The person who has been number two to Patrice has always been Honour Janza and Kampamba Chintu has been assisting,” he told Radio Icengelo in Kitwe.

Kalusha said the current technical bench, which has Davies Phiri as well, will be in charge as Zambia competes in the 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers to take place between September and November.

“We will sit down with the FAZ executive and our stakeholders to look at the current situation. I think the guys (current bench) will do the qualifiers and then we will pick it up from there,” he said.

Zambia will begin the Morocco AFCON qualifiers with a home Group F match against Mozambique on September
Meanwhile, other Group F teams are Cape Verde and Niger.

  1. FAZ always appoint those who they feel are in good standing (to borrow MMD’s phrase) with the organisation. Man fans were calling for Wedson Nyirenda or Lwandamina to be appointed but we all know it’s not possible in this FAZ administration to appoint independent minds. They always appoint those they can undermine and manipulate.

    • Those you mentioned are boring, I can’t even write there names.
Take Zeddy Saileti and Tenant Chilumba to add excitement in the team.
Zeddy, Chilumba, Chintu can assist the serious Janza.

  2. It’s time Janza was given a chance but please FAZ, don’t pay him peanuts just because he’s Zambian. It’s time we stopped this ‘muzungu anikonde’ mentality! That said, I want to thank Herve and Patrice for putting in a decent shift, on their watch . I wish them both, the very best in Ivory Coast.

    • I feel Janza is a joke who has no credentials for such a task. He is just a ‘yes bwana’ at Football House. I would vote for Lucky Msiska or Wedson

  3. @Infidel Baghdad u r right. Lets go the Nigerian way where we ‘Use our oen Blood’ as coaches. We ve to Graduate from employing ba Zungu fullu stop.

    Viva Faz !

    • Guys lets not be shallow in our analyses. When did Nigeria have faith in a local coach? Only after Steven Keshi had coached outside of Nigeria and taken a small team like Togo to the World Cup. Also after Zambia and other countries tried to poach him. In other words Keshi proved himself as being of the same quality as the expatriate coaches Nigeria was hiring. So far in Zambia which coach has shown us that he can compete?

  4. I dont think george chicken can take us any where. He has failecat buffaloes and many others. We are in a crisis gentlemen seriously. Maybe since others are saying janza is serious then letsgo for him otherwise we shud forget about getting expensive outsiders. We dont have cadh

    • Chicken can’t coach the National Team. Lets just try the same Janza and don’t influence him a lot. Give him respect. If any outsider needed; get one from the Bulkans.

  5. Faz should look for a Zambian with international exposure such as lucky Msiska or Charles Musonda. Though I don’t know if Charles has any coaching credentials. Has janza coached any team at premier/super league level?

  6. The problem with Kalusha is that he thinks he can be both FAZ president and Coach of the national team. Who does not that he will bulldoze Janza? Kalusha does not respect Zambian soccer. To him, FAZ is his meal ticket. You FAZ councillors kick out this dimwit and get someone serious with soccer. This hangover we have that because Kalusha played abroad and was at one time Africa footballer of the year and that because of this he would make a good administrator should go away. Is Kalusha going to be president of FAZ forever? Ni wamuyaya? Let’s try others. Kalusha has played his part and it is time him and his cohorts should move on before they kill Zambian soccer for good. Janza cannot be coach for Zambia and you hope to go to the World Cup to play such teams like Germany?

    • Wow, too personal. Kalu, thanks for the great work you are doing guys. Don’t be destructed by the petty small minds. WE appreciate

  7. They will keep leaving and corrupt Kalu will continue appointing the number 2 as they are thick as thieves..no room for honest new faces. ..really laughable. ..they will continue appointing no.2s still the reach the kit man.
We’re not anywhere under these thieves! !

  8. In kalu we trust; but please dont employ a zedian coach they lack tactics, The zambia vs cameroon is still fresh in our minds. am sorry maybe 2040

  9. Who is Janza? Just because he sits on the technical bench doesn’t qualify him to be National Coach. Let’s get a Zambian coach with a proven track record. Kalusha himself failed because he had no coaching experience. Let’s look at our own premier league coaches. An alternative is to bring in Clive Barker or Midendolf from South Africa on a 2 year contract.

    • Thanks Kalu. I remember those days when Zambia had a game & all places in Zambia could be asking if Kalu would be coming from Europe to feature. You made us proud mwandi. I travel a lot & your name is all over the world. And eventually ZNBC would confirm at 19hrs & the nation would be a proud nation. Vilibe mamemory vingo nyoza Kalu, munthu wakaele

  10. Iwe Kalusha Bwalya kalale kumushi, twatendwa pafula…waonaula saana ifintu pa zed. Tefyo chali before you came in. There is no more football in Zambia. I’m so disturbed I even have no words. What amazes me is just the very low standards that Zambians have on almost everything in their lives and still feel proud about their mediocrity. It is shocking. What did Kalusha do for Zambia? Do you honestly think if the 1993 disaster had not happened he would still be as mysteriously popular? Meanwhile, the first team ever to win us an International cup, I see very little acknowledgement of it. I keep saying this but I’m really worried about general low IQ level pa Zambia. May be because I travel around Africa a lot and talk to people in those countries and how they think. Scared for Zambia.

    • Please tell the zombies; the gullible fans do not see anything wrong, here is a President who can not manage his personal finances always getting loans how do expect this man to run an FA? Its a joke…Bonetti was never paid it had to take FIFA to intervene, now this boy Patrice…and still the zombies keep singing this Great Thief’s name.
I told them that PE tutor assistant was polishing up his CV but nobody listened…people need to wake up!!

  11. This is no time for trial and error.Nigeria is not Zambia so don’t compare Keshi with Zambian coaches. They are not exposed and lack technical know how of the modern game.Just look at how Zambian teams have fared in CAF competitions of late.
Time is not on our side and FAZ must urgently scout for an expatriate coach. They must then attach 2 local coaches as assistants.
I suggest FAZ to look at Ruud Krool,Clive Barker ,Midendolf or even Ruud Gullit.

  12. you Zambians are just noisy and want to talk about anything, whether it make sense or not. You were calling Beumelle, a PE teacher and that you wanted a Zambian. They give you a Zambian and you are talking crap atase. Mulifipuba bonse fye.

  13. The only best coach in zambia is Fordson Kabole, he will bring proper ball systems not these other coaches with no ideas. Let’s assess from the clubs these coaches are with and how those teams are performing not only through results but also even the systems the team is able to exibit.
