Chairman of the Mahtani Group of Companies Rajan Mahtani is concerned that some sections of society are trying to harm his friendship with Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda.
Dr Mahtani said he has profound respect for Mr Chikwanda adding that he does not want anyone to come between his friendship with the Finance Minister.
He said media reports indicating that he belongs to a cartel fighting Mr Chikwanda are incorrect and baseless.Dr.Mahtani said he considers Mr Chikwanda as a true brother whom he would never want to injure in any way.
Dr Mahtani was speaking during a Jubilee dinner organised by the Mahtani Group of Companies to honour some freedom fighters.The freedom fighters also received a K50, 000 account opening for a Senior Citizens Account at Finance Bank.
He said all those trying to bring amenity between the two should desist saying as a Christian, he cherishes the friendship he has with the Finance Minister.
And Dr Mahtani says there is every reason to celebrate Zambia’s golden jubilee anniversary.
He said Zambia is one of the few countries on the continent which have not experienced any war hence the need to celebrate the golden jubilee anniversary as a way of thanking God.

it is a known fact that finance bank of zambia has not been following the lay down financial rules and regulations that govern banks… it is because of this reason that the chief executive of finance bank is trying to kiss the finance minister, it is nothing else but business and this kind of doing business is exactly what is going to bring this country down. It is about time w follown ethics to the core in order for us to see to it that this country develops…

In normal circumstance Mahtani should be saying that “I used to respect Chikwanda but now I am wary”….but these are not normal circumstances and one can lie how they please but expect to be believed anyway.
Truth is, Mahtani is always on thin ice and no matter what one says against him, it is fine as long as they are the minister of finance.

Mahtani is the unacceptable face of Indian business in Zambia. While he is chuffing Chikanda, he is sponsoring ZWD and supporting The Post. I hope PF can read the bones on the ground. Mahtani is laying a carpet for PF’s exit.
Clearly he has his fingers in a lot of pies. The problem with money men like this is that ultimately, they pay politicians for favour. They contribute to overthrowing gov’ts by sponsoring opposing factions. £50,000 is a very little amount of money, but he gives it to keep his power in our politics. When will our gov’t stop these type of compromising arrangements?

Mahtani? Mahtani? Respect who? Chikwanda? Chikwanda? Well, given his disastrous reputation I’m sure Chikwanda will find solace in praises from Mahtani. However, Mahtani saying he respects Chikwanda is like ISIS saying it respects Al-Qaeda….doesn’t matter, the Americans are coming for you. One day, you will pack in the middle of the night. By the way, did Mahtani read Chikwanda’s recently leaked interview in the Post? Because in that leak, it was clear the respect IS NOT MUTUAL … Chikwanda doesn’t respect Mahtani. BUT that is how thieves behave towards each – there is no honour among thieves.
OK, here’s what’s wrong with this statement:
1) Bishop Mambo, who is an employee of Mahtani and an appointee at Zambezi Portland Cement, has been a key attack dog against Chikwanda, acting at the behest of Mahtani. The apology is not genuine until Mambo would be fired or punished for these actions.
2) Why didn’t Mahtani just publish this on his own website, Zambian Watchdog? Seems that he already pays them quite handsomely to publish his propaganda.

Yes indeed, ABC is the only respectible politician among the crop of Sata’s Ministers. Apparently, I have serious doubts on the sincerity of Mathani’s deceptive gestures to the PF Govt. after the dismissal of his best ally, Kabimba. This is the man who has used his financial muscles to dribble, KK, Chiluba, Mwanawasa and RB and use Zambian air space to siphon international financial resources. Mathani dines well outside Africa but merely uses toilet facilities in Zambia to clean his bowels.
