The leaders who ruined Africa, and the generation who can fix it

Lead by a group of young 30 or 40 something year olds, Zambia gained it’s independence from the great British Imperialist powers on October 1964.With no big financial backers our freedom fighters achieved the impossible. Now is our turn, it’s time for young Zambians to rise up and do something great for Zambia.Sometimes it falls upon a generation to be great, you can be that generation”-Nelson Mandela.

Most of the evils that have befallen our country have been as a result of weak institutions and a constitution that concentrates power in a few people. It’s time for 30 or 40 something year olds to wake up and help fix Zambia.

  1. Zambian Politics of Poverty like the speculation return of RB will be in the top three of< "Africa Twasebana". Also the fighting within Political Parties for leaderships, just too many canty snitches.

    • True We the Young Zambians have to take up the challenge. We can not just complain while we let these old papas ruin our Country. Enough with us being receivers all the time. Be It bad Governance or Aid from Western Countries.

The Young responsible and Educated should work for the Poor to put reduce Poverty and improve the living standards of all Zambians.

In 21st Century we have leadership that can not even put a vision for a country?? How would we achieve anything?? we need serious leadership and strategies to move forward.

Let us not vote for people who can not offer Zambians anything?? we need to start working on Zambian vision 2020 or 2030.

We can not just continue with the current governance.

    • Ba LT stop sleeping. I have a picture of the copy of Christine Kaseba nomination for presidency. Can you please update your site!

    • Nobody ruined Africa, Civilization came late to Africa and all Africans have much to learn and can catch up if they all work collectively and stop pointing fingers!!

    • Nubian chisushi these days!!!! alandafye efya boyo!!!! What is civilization in the first place? i thought the root word is civil, to be peaceful, gentle, courteous. now how can a people who came to enslave, mistreat another group of people be called civil? In your america mambala iwe, go and enslave a white girl and boy and see what names they will put on you. Civilized is the last one. buti ifwe we have been taught to respect, honor and praise our captor and enslaver as a civilized and intelligent man/woman. You are stuck in the old generation because of your poor and ill education which has taught you to hate yourself. Africans have most of the times been and are still the most civilized people on the face of this planet.

  2. Times change and humans need to start changing buy accepting changes with time. All Nations deserves UNDER-5 President, it’s not about the grey hair anymore.

  3. Old Politicians shouldn’t be making decisions about the future they will not be around to enjoy the …….. The need to to go back to the land if there’s such a thing.

  4. Voters in Zed, you screw up this one time and that’s it. Once China leaves, you’re done because I’m here and you’re there. Adapt young Leader and VOTE him into Office, State House. RB, i will post you on FOOLS.COM

  5. Iwe Bwezani, paja Kanakutundila. Manje Kazakunyela.
Just go concentrate on Thandies recovery, you gotta be by the kid’s side. You did enough for us.
    Bye Bye Sir.

  6. Our electorate voting pattern is related to POVERTY! You can argue this ALL you want, but that’s the SAD truth

  7. Weak institutions, coupled with mediocre choices by an ill-informed electorate, tribalism are but a part of a plethora of problems affecting our political system. The lack of credible choice even in this by-election shows how low the standard of leadership has fallen in Zed.

  8. Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘We should never judge a president by his age, only by his works.’ And ever since he told me that, I stopped worrying.

    Ronald Reagan

  9. I travel extensively to many parts of the world, and I don’t encounter the sort of old-age bashing that has become fashionable among Zambia youths. Most of the young high testosterone bloggers don’t even seem to realize that indulging in this form of age discrimination is just as morally offensive and repugnant as tribal/racial or gender discrimination. The younger generation should realize is that to get to the top, you have to do so purely on merit and not on the basis of age. If you are young, brilliant, and talented, you will overcome the competition even from those twice your age and rise to the top.

  10. You don’t have to ascend to power by barring the older generation from active participation in politics. In all developed country in Europe, the US, or Japan, youths don’t talk about their turn to take over the reins of power by excluding the older generation; they just jump into the ring and compete. Young leaders like Cameron, Milliband, Obama, etc. never used age as a campaign tool to ascend to political prominence. Do some of the emotional bloggers on this page know that Joe Biden (born in 1942), Obama’s vice president is 20 years older than Obama (born in 1962)? Do Americans find this odd? Of course not. This is what makes the difference between us and Americans.
