By Henry Kabinga

Recent news stories suggest that Rupiah Banda has endorsed Edgar Lungu for the 20 January election. This has been buttressed by a Muhabi Lungu statement carried in the Post Newspaper of 25 December that the NEC of MMD (though it was only 25 of them) had met and 21 of them voted to support Lungu as he was, (and this is really weird) the ‘better enemy’. Coming from an intelligent person like Lungu, any ordinary person who has followed Zambian politics would be left truly bewildered by such a statement.

It appears this meeting was purely for propaganda purposes as a quorum was not formed and it was not called by either the party Chairman or President. The meeting was chaired by the Women’s Chairperson Faustina Sinyangwe who only a few days ago was in the Mumba camp. Such are the high levels of opportunism in the MMD today that one morning someone will be in one camp but by the afternoon, they would be in the opposing camp and the following day, supporting another party’s candidate!

What is particularly mind boggling is that the MMD faction of Rupiah Banda is today supporting a PF candidate! Rupiah has, since losing the 2011 election been harassed, intimidated and humiliated by this same party. He is today facing charges of plunder in the courts of law after his immunity was removed by the same party that is today led by Edgar Lungu who voted along for the removal of his immunity. When all this was happening, the only outside voice of some strength supporting RB was that of Hakainde and the UPND.

This came at a very high personal cost to the integrity of Hakainde who faced real hostility for this stand. Hichilema suffered all manner of abuse with one daily newspaper likening him to being a thief like Banda with editorials about how birds of a feather flock together and other such unpalatable things. We understand all sorts of promises of withdrawal of cases, restoring of confiscated vehicles, safe return of his son and the like have been made to Mr. Banda as a person. We cannot confirm the veracity of these reports but if true, Mr. Banda should exercise a bit of decency and morality, yes, even in politics! The least Mr. Banda could have done is to probably stay out of this endorsement game.

Mr. Banda should realize that a lot of harm to his person and reputation has been caused him by the selfish people who ill advised him to come back into politics by standing on the MMD. Mr. Banda should be informed that he was being advised by a group of very selfish individuals who sought to benefit personally from him in all manner of ways.

Mr. Banda would have without doubt come a distant third behind the UPND and the PF in that order in the January election. He should have listened to the wise counsel of his son Andrew, someone I have known as a very good and principled political campaigner since 1991, rather than to inexperienced and very poor judges of political mood and temperature. We all know that Muhabi Lungu has from time immemorial made very poor political judgements in his political career and has suffered grave consequences for his poor political decisions. These decisions have seen his political star dwindle to the very lows that it finds itself in today.

The MMD is now literally dead, torn between three factions that today do not see eye to eye. The MMD will not live beyond 2016 as its only existence remains courtesy of its Parliamentary presence, something that will be totally wiped out come 2016.

Equally, by even attempting to stand, Mr. Banda has done his legacy a great deal of harm. His standing in the Zambian public’s eye has suffered a mortal blow. He will not carry the same respect as he did before and if more news about whatever deal has been made with the PF comes through, this may even undermine his legacy further.

As a footnote, I would like to engage in a bit of speculation. It could well be that this endorsement has been secured not on the basis of what I have put across, but rather by a more bane and primordial instinct. Could this endorsement be one that smacks of the sort of tribalism that Elizabeth Mulobeka recently exhibited in Kasama when she urged Bembas to vote for Nevers simply because he was Bemba? Could it be one that should conjure up images and memories of the antiquated ‘umodzi ku mawa’ syndrome of the late 1960s with its ‘wako ni wako’ offshoot? Is Lungu being endorsed simply because he comes from the Eastern Province where Rupiah also hails? I rest my case.

    • The forth coming bye-election has practically become a 2 horse race and RB as a statesman, seasoned politician and responsible citizen has the moral and constitutional right to support one of the 2 leaders beyond self interest. To this cyber stalker, RB will only be moral and just statesman if and only if he were to endorse a candidate he doesn’t believe represents his belief for a unifying leadership at this juncture. RB must harbor a spirit of non-forgiveness and vengeance regardless. Such flawed logic is devoid of values for democracy and respect of others. There are many underlying issues that make the EL candidacy a magnetizing choice across political divides. EL’s humble and meek spirit and not a self inflated importance above everyone in the country is self electrifying…

    • We can now all see how RB lacks the sense of self awareness. He has no control of his emotions, instincts, including his impulse. He’s already disgracing men of age. I’m glad he never ruled me, was never there during his time in office.

    • I will only Endorse Vodka Lungu on two conditions, winning the election and keeping Dr G Scott as VP. With him there no tribalism.

    • If MMD MPs endorse HH, then it’s a problem and it’s tribal. If the MMD NEC, MPs and RB endorse Lungu, then it’s alright.
You stiff-necked PF lunatics, morons and imbeciles get delivered from your stup!idity, tribalism and corrupt minds and see Zambians as the same. Mwanya bonse HH aleteka.
      Fusekeni!!!!
Mukaikulika bakolwee when HH is announced as president of Zambia.

    • @Nostradamus
RB has not endorsed anyone,,, me i was there when we were waiting for presido mpombo with him,,,, after that RB went to malawi to endorse people of that country

    • Unga seke ati Kekekeke. “I rest by case” as if he has even done some analysis. You were looking forward for him to endorse your candidate but yaba chashupa. Wina azalilia.

    • RB endorses Lungu and PF win, he is safe. UPND win, they have promised not to be vindictive and RB’s son is on their side, so RB is safe. Winwin for RB.

    • Ba Kabinga a upnd cadre and very emotional in your article you wish RB was on HH side but you know why RB cant do that.? Becoz he knows HH will not win so its better to bargain with the winner Lungu. At RB would come third to upnd and then PF in that order..kikikikiki your HH cant win naimwe dont over rate yourselves.

      Viva EL Viva PF

    • Maureen Mwanawasa meets Fred Mmembe.
Former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa on Friday 26th December 2014, took time to meet Post Editor Fred Mmembe. Maureen who arrived at the Post premises at 15:30 stayed on until 17:15hrs.
Maureen is suspected to have gone to plead for political space for the UPND and Hakainde Hichilema.
Maureen was driving a Toyota Hilux ALZ 1096

      UPND IS NOW PANICKING…..SENSING DEFEAT

      2015 VOTE PF(EDGAR)

      I THANK YOU

  1. Just wait for few years from now, you will start butchering each other on tribal lines. There is nothing like we have lived with each other or intermarried for a long time. Watch this space.

  2. Is it only Rupiah Banda who has endorsed a presidential candidate of his choice? The writer has not done justice to his article. What about Vernon Mwaanga endorsing HH? Is not Mwaanga from Southern province? In your line of thinking, is that tribalism or not? Be objective in your analysis.

    • My thinking exactly. Remember VJ was beaten when he went to pay his last respects at kumalembe farm when Mazoka died. He was beaten because for allegedly not supporting his ‘brother’. So to this Kabinga writer VJ should have kept a grudge and not endorse HH? Why hasnt he seen this as tribalism? In any case VJ doesnt add much to Upnd unlike RB who will help to deliver eastern. I rest my case.

    • @observer
You are missing the point. The point is why would RB endorse the Party that stripped him of his immunity and continue to embarrass him in court and abuse him ?

    • Ba Him – It is simple. Stripping of RB’s immunity was Kabimba, Mmembe, and Nchito with a hapless Sata at the helm. PF under EL is a totally different Party. That is why EL is already being accused of “abandoning Sata’s legacy that he is preaching”. EL seems to be intelligent enough to realize that there were a lot of wrong things that PF did under Sata that he needs to change quickly. On RB endorsing HH – remember if only had HH sided with MMD in 2011, we weren’t going to be here now. This is clearly payback time for RB – remember the “he will be chased like a dog” comment? Who uttered that comment?

  3. To some pipo tribalism is only seen when if there frd supports someone of the same tribe whom they dont approve of. When bambas support el it is bcoz they ve stolen & want 2 hide bhind him, they know el is a weaker person & can easily manupulated & get back the presidence they think is 4 bembas. Now support comes 4rm his fellow easterners, they ve been promised, its tribalism bla bla bla! When the same tribes endorse hh its principles. Frds u’re decamphning yo hh if u dont know. Some of these guys u want 2 paint black ve vry dear influence tht u would ve fought 2 use than malin. Get a life pipo.

  4. Henry Kabinga, DON’T WORRY ABOUT WHAT Elizabeth Mulobeka SAID. AS WE HAVE WITNESSED SINCE INDEPENDENCE BEMBAS DO NOT NORMALLY VOTE ON TRIBAL LINES. THERE ARE A LOT OF ZAMBIANS FROM OTHER TRIBES OR PROVINCES WHO HAVE STOOD FOR ELECTIONS IN NORTHERN PROVINCE AND WON. SO, WHAT ELIZABETH SAID WON’T HOLD WATER AT ALL. NORTHERNERS WILL ALWAYS VOTE FOR THE ONE WHO HAS LIVED WITH THEM AND GENUINELY PROMISES DEVELOPMENT AND PROMISES DEVELOPMENT. I REMEMBER EVEN MUNKOMBWE IN ONE OF REFERENCES SAYING THIS WHEN URGING TONGAS NOT TO BE TRIBAL.

  5. EVEN IF EL AND RB HAVE COME TO THAT AGREEMENT ABOUT HENRY I DON’T THINK THE JUDICIARY WILL TOLERATE THAT HENRY COMES BACK WITHOUT TRIAL JUST LIKE THAT. I THINK THE ZAMBIAN JUDICIARY HAS UNDERGONE A LOT OF POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION TO CONDONE THAT NONSENSE. OTHERWISE THE ZAMBIAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM IS A BUNCH OF USELESS CHARACTERS WHO HAVE AFTER ALL NOT EVEN CHANGED- THEY ARE STILL CORRUPT AS CLAIMED IN THE PAST.

  6. HH has promises RATSA kuyabebele, Nkombo army, police, zns and zaf total overhaul, foreign service no Bembas and Easterners, take hind

  7. Let people endorse, dis- endorse, re- endorse whoever they wish as individuals or collectively except the church and non- partisan organisation.

I know it is political peak hour but the church should overcome this temptation

  8. The only way we can tone down this tribal animal in the present political arena is to include in our constitution to form a federal state. Western Province and Luapula province will greatily benefit.

  9. Guys, let us debate with facts. Tell me which non bemba stood in the north(luapula, muchinga and northern) and won an election as an MP or councillor.Do you know how many bembas are councillors in southern province.Do you know that SATA got more votes in southern province than what HH got in the 3 north provinces.Where is tribalism here. Please get this info from ECZ freely instead of debating without facts.

    • sikota wina was the first MP of luwingu, when multi party democracy can back. Guy scott was Mp for mpika. I dont know if these places are in southern

    • @ Mkandansenga,

They will not listen to you simply because they are full of hate for other tribes especially tongas. They know they’re ignoring facts deliberately to hurt the tongas. The best you can do is to ignore them completely as many others have done.

Its hard to discuss anything with a group of people who are hell bent on hatred rather than discussing real issues that have a bearing on the country whether good or bad.

  10. The article is in bad taste & very pro HH. The least you could have done is stating the obvious fact that, Rupiah, like everyone else has a choice in the matter at hand. As much as you want him to endorse HH, he has in my opinion made the better choice in Edgar Lungu. Where we are in Eastern, most people have never heard of HH, the structures are not there. Playing music via vehicles & advertising your candidate will not win you a Presidential election, maybe Ward Chairman where HH should have started from.

  11. It’s a win, win situation for Zambia. Vote Lungu and you’re voting for MMD, vote HH then you are voting PF. To be fair Banda did support lung from the beginning and only a fool would turn down advice from an experienced hand and of course, advice given does not always mean it has to be taken. Now the cartel will show the nation how election rigging has been perpetrated in by elections by PF.It’s in their interest now to ensure a free and fair election and that victory is handed to HH however, a Banda – Lungu partnership is also bad news for HH.

  12. RB has the democratic right to support any candidate of his choice. The bitterness is because he did not endorse HH. He does not trust greedy HH.
As a former head of state he knows who is better suitable to be president.
By the way. HH was also desperately looking for RB’s endorsement but RB refused because he feels HH is a very arrogant, greedy and tribal.

  13. RB HAS HIS OWN CHOICE. IF HE HAD WANTED TO ENDORSE HAKAINDE,HE COULD HAVE DONE IT.BUT HE HAS SEEN SOMETHING IN EDGAR SO DON,T CONDEMN HIM FOR THAT.HH HAS PEOPLE WHO ENDORSED HIM LIKE VJ,MAUREEN AND SOME FORMER WHAT EVER AND WE ARE NOT SCARED OF SUCH ENDORSEMENT BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT POLITICAL HEAVY WEIGHTS AND THEY CAN,T DEFEAT PF NO MATTER WHAT.2015 VOTE PF VOTE ONE LUNGU.

  14. I wonder what article Henry Kabinga would have written had all the crooks endorsing HH endorsed EL. Check the Post of Sunday 21 Dec 2014. In that picture was Andrew Banda (convicted criminal), Major Kachingwe (corrupt fellow) and Michael Mabenga (once banned from contesting for five years on account of corruption) escorting HH to file his nominations! The worst out of MMD has gone to HH. EL has scooped the best and more formidable from the MMD! Chakubaba Henry, your HH is untrustworthy!

  15. RB has every right to endorse a candidate of his choice just as his son Andrew endorsed a candidate of his choice though it is wrong to bring VJ in this equation. Both VJ andRB have reasons for their choices so long there is no element of wako ni wako and bitterness especially for RB of the failed alliance with UPND that did not materialize and because HH refused to allow RB to lead the pact. The bottom line is I’ll be happy with how I cast my vote come January 20, 2015 irrespective of the final outcome.

  16. RB has a right to endorse anyone, it’s his costitutional right. The fact that you support UPND does not mean everybody else should follow along. I haven’t finished reading this article because after reading the 1st 2,3 paragraphs I thought this is like one of those Ruwe crap he used to post on this page
    My opinion

  17. RUPIAH BANDA ENDORSES EDGAR LUNGU:A few weeks ago Rupiah Banda had a rally in mtendere where he talked a lot of issues about the economic predicament zambia is going through he said am here because the pf govmet has faile the pipo of zambia vote for me so that we can correct the mistakes the has made as u know the mmd is a tasted leadership we left mealie meal at k35,000 rebased k35,dollar at 5000,cement at k45000 rebased 45 we paid famers on time,we fetilizer on time but today famers are complaining about late delivery of faming inputs but again wen Rupiah was withdrawn by the suprem court to stand as presidential candidate for mmd after realising that he’s not standing he endorses lungu of the same pf he they have failed to run the govmet this shows that rupiah is selfcentered it means

    • Well put sir. RB is selfish that its. You can agree or disagree but that is a fact. Anyway he has little influence now and the PF will struggle to win rural votes in Eastern province due to poor agric policies. I wonder what will be become of him when HH is elected president of Zambia on 20/01/2015.

  18. Let us admit that tribalissm is real.
You ca not end tribalism ussing political slogans.
Kaunda tried one zambia one nation.
After 50 years we can all see it was wrong formula.
We are still as tribal as ever.
Its like trying to burry the BRE 64.
QUICK FIX FORMULAE WONT END TRIBALISM.

1.To end tribalism we must admit it exists.
2.We must understand why it exist not only among Tongas.
(all tribes of zambia embrace tribalism
    3. WE Devise practical formulae to end tribalism.

    To be continiued…

  19. i now see why zambia has a bad image internationally. does this show that the judiciary is independent? now guy scot pardons mpombo and masumba.whyP not pardon those who stole smaller things like chickens? am praying hard that rupiah banda shud be taught donchi kubeba.
    u

  20. Nosense baba!we know you guys in UPND 100%!if RB or Muhabi Lungu endorsed HH,you could have be glad but after they endorse Edgar Lungu,it now pains you!hey this is being evil!note this, not all people can love your HH or EL!meaning people are free to endorse a candidate they like!the one with more support will win elections.THE TRUTH IS EDGAR LUNGU HAS MAJORITY VOTERS BY HIS SIDE!

  21. Very dull and dishonest article in that if RB were to endorse HH this Kabinga will be praising RB. Useless article with grave bias towards the UPND & HH. You call RB tribal what about your HH & UPND ? Please be mature in your article …..shame on you.

Having said this, however I invite you to vote EL on 20 Janury 2015.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  22. I don’t know why people are so waked up out of this article. RB has not endorsed anybody. The truth is that this article is based on what Muhabi Lungu said. I don’t know why Zambians still want to believe what Muhabi says. This is the man who against all advice went ahead and brought our former president out of retirement just to embarrass him. Muhabi has been ignored by all MPs from Eastern province who supported RB, so that speaks volumes of the mischief Muhabi has been up. It is a personal issue between Muhabi and HH

    • RB has a right to support any candidate period. When PF few weeks ago had problems it was the order of the day people endorsing HH and yet no one raised any hand in protest ,but now the opposite is happening some are not happy.Folks democracy democracy fellow ZED no need to cry just campaign and remember to to accept the outcome of 20 Jan results.

  23. This business of tribalism may look simple to discuss, but it can spark serious consequences that might be hard to reverse. Let be mature in the way we discuss politics. If a certain group of MMD MPs have decided to support HH, accept that another group of the same MPs have the right to support Edgar. After all, they are all job seekers. There is nothing of integrity in all these Mps. We are one and regardless of whom you are supprting, there is no direct benefits as a common man. All these politicians are crooks. HH has stolen through privatisation and Edgar has stolen through Law practising. None of them is coming to us with clean hand. Let’s be united and fight all these thieving politicians and not ourselves.

  24. I think it’s unfair to say HH stole through privatisation when what he did was to offer professional consultancy services in the same way the Nchito brothers were paid for professional services they offered in prosecution of Chiluba. If Mutembo Nchito runs for president tomorrow we cannot say he stole from government when government willingly engaged him for his skills. Just a reminder that if the privatisation consultancy jobs were not given to Grant Thornton where HH was chief executive the contracts could still have been given to somebody else as government had a job to be done. HH had the skills, he tendered and won the contract. So let us stop this thing of talking ill of rich people. Even at community level when somebody becomes rich we say he or she is a Satanist which is wrong

  25. It seems that any non Tonga Wu endorses HH is a states man and those Wu endorse EL are tribalists. Is this fair? HH as well called RB an inborn thief wen he was in power. So wat humiliation is the author talking about? Guys the outcome of these elections will pain u. I feel for UPND. Viva EL

  26. I would have liked to concur with @1.2 Senior Citizen, but unfortunately, Banda’s endorsement is a testament to ‘there is no fool like an old fool.’

Banda is like the perfect example of evil. He is a troubled man seeking to run away from his past ills by committing more ills. His are restless legs, he will find no place to rest even if PF provide him temporary shelter for his endorsement. Banda is guilty and needs redemption through confession forhis theft acts, instead of which he runs hither and tither, his legs now rotating faster than Fred Flintstone on the Rocky Highway To Hell.

Banda just needs to face his corruption charges for arranging that gov’t to gov’t Million Dollar Oil contract abusing his Presidential role.

    • It’s such a grand theft when you think about it! Banda is a very oily and smelly old man in terms of the size of his greed!

The writer of this article built too grand a picture based around ‘old Rup.’ I once posted a bible text from Proverbs on Banda’s decision to return to office. It said ‘see a man wise in his own face? Then he is a fool.’

The bible never let’s us down when it comes to wisdom. Banda has now come full circle of his decision to return to office. So much drama; voices cried louder and louder their disapproval, warnings came faster than the rush of wind, AND, did Banda listen? Oh No! He tried to destroy a Priests Righteousness to head MMD to elections and now……….he brings his dregs to tarnish Lungu’s election bid.

Lungu must not be tempted to…

  27. we divide this country then. We shall get the balose map because we are now able to see what tribalism can do in our country!! the endorsement we are witnessing is not looking for credible leaders but ”Lekeni chipuba chadi Melanie”. we are going to intensify the campaign for balonse. Because politics has now become for who comes from my place and to develop our country!! Zambians, let’s be serious with our country!! And all our politician do is to use the poor to employ them, but when the fail to manage our resources ,it’s us the poor who still the effect!! Let’s work together to develop our country!!

  28. I have said many times on this blog that endorsements are personal and people are not stoopid that they will follow suit in voting for the endorsee. We all know these politicians are angry and hungry hyenas who are bent to mislead the electorate, but Zambians will not be fooled by these tactics and they will vote according to their wishes not wishes of a former head of state or former minister. Zambians be cautious with these men of gold!

  29. RB is an old fo.ol that thinks using his tribe not his dead brains!!
With RB, this is like getting a Turkey to vote for Christmas even when it knows it will be eaten at the Xmas dinner. But Rupiah will look very very stupid and foolish at the International stage – yes a foo.lish Old man with white (not grey) hair!!

His Lawyer, Robert Amsterdam has spent 3 years demonising PF and even Lobbying the International Community on his behalf to impose sanctions against our beautiful country just because of this IDI.OT and his thieving, kleptomaniac and fugitive son Henry.
Now he is contemplating of endorsing the same PF (under Nchito as DPP) that wants to jail him and his fugitive son – where are his morales? Where will this leave Amsterdam? Is this not proof that RB actually stole from us?

  30. VJ and Maureen endorsed HH, no tribal problem. Now Muhabi endorse EL it’s on tribal line, shame UPND. Mazoka got votes even in remote places of Luapula and Northern. Why??? Because he began well. Face it UPND has no structures in other provinces when compared to MMD and PF. People of Zambia should realise that electing UPND is at high cost because forming government using MPs from other parties means by-elections. UPND should have used this time to organize itself in each province and I am sure it would have formed government come 2016. Even if it forms government in January, it has no structures to hold it. HH said Sata is not educated yet Sata made a movement out of PF and he has failed to organize just his party, how is he going to organize a country. UPND is funded from his pocket…

  31. EL’s humble and meek spirit and not a self inflated importance above everyone in the country is self electrifying…i agree the man is humble and he will carry the day.

  32. RB has a right to support any candidate period.

  33. Never in Zambian politics has the tribe tag been so pronounced. During the UNIP and MMD things where at such a low level that no one noticed anything.
My own observation is that the PF with their late leader Sata brought about all this with the fear of HH and his UPND.
Sata had a loose mouth and I remember KK saying he was a danger to our country and its true.
Our country stands more divided on tribal lines like never before and i think its all due to Sata and the PF.
A true Zambia should see that the fear of HH and the UPND has brought us to this and if not stopped and checked it will lead to something terrible.
Why now, We are all Zambian and if i had the power i would burn any leader from talking tribal.
So, do not think Zambia is more special than Luanda, Let us stop this rot,…

  34. What is surprising with PF general members is their apparent failure to see that their PF leadership is taking them for granted. The PF leadership know that their membership will always blindly follow them basically because almost all PF general membership is pro-Bemba and in turn Anti- other tribes especially they are anti-Tonga. This is the bottom line whether we like it or not. The PF leadership know that their activities in PF and government will rarely be questioned by their members because the general PF membership value their party PF only as a vehicle for maintaining tribal supremacy rather that a means to develop Zambia. When the PF, a pro-Bemba party is in power, most anti-Tonga, pro-Bemba individuals, group’s even institutions including some churches feel satisfied and relaxed…

  35. When the PF, a pro-Bemba party is in power, most anti-Tonga, pro-Bemba individuals, group’s even institutions including some churches feel satisfied and relaxed not because the PF is developing Zambia but because the PF presence in power is a means to for them for satisfying tribal, regional and even language egos.
The leaders in PF are there only to reap national resources for themselves alone, this is clear from their last 3 year performance, they are not in government for the benefit of their general membership or anyone else.
And these PF leaders know that for instance one easy way to achieve this is to have a sickly state president. Then their chances to steal become higher, they have got this experience from the Michael Sata presidency and now again they want a president who is…

  36. they have got this experience from the Michael Sata presidency and now again they want a president who is sickly so that the same begins to happen. Meanwhile all that the PF general membership knows is to shout ‘PABWATO’ with a clenched fist clearly indicative of the violent nature of their party, they will not see any problem for as long as the available alternative is a political party led by a Southerner. This is retrogressive. And a sober, intelligent and honesty man in PF like Given Lubinda does not have any chance for the PF top position. There is no room for such people in PF. A person like Edigar Lungu who is a nonentity politically and generally known to be a chakolwa failed MP happens to be the favourite in PF! NOT A PERSON LIKE GIVEN LUBINDA.
    The PF general membership must…

  37. The PF general membership must wake up to the reality that their leaders are suck, milk them, are parasitic to them and to Zambia, propose weak individuals for party and state presidency to serve their personal interest only. And judging from what we have seen and read, Lungu is just another Sata case, he looks sickly and those pushing for his presidency want him just because once he is in state house he is expected to be busy dealing with his personal health leaving national resources open to abuse by the PF corrupt clique. I really feel pity for those supporting the PF and Lungu because they are supporting continued poverty in their homes, while their leaders keep getting rich. And for me and all those who are able to see below the surface, those with revolutionary minds, it’s time to…

  38. And for me and all those who are able to see below the surface, those with revolutionary minds, it’s time to change and change for the better, it’s time to make a fresh hopeful start, its time to vote for the UPND and Hakainde Hichilema.

  39. RB has refused to endorse E Lungu even after massive pressure put on RB, he has not capitulating over it. Have less respect for RB in his divisive role in MMD partly because of poor leadership exhibited by Nevers Mumba. RB’s democratic right still stands, to choose without undue influence a person of his choice. So far, RB has not endorsed E. Lungu.

  40. If someone asked me to point at which one is the president, I would point at the one on the left – the acting chief protocol officer. Young, healthy and energetic-looking.

And good morning to you too, this lovely boxing day!

  41. One wished that Ludwig Sunday Sondashi was the front runner in these elections. He is the most educated, most experienced, and has the most plausible vision and the clearest messages made at the apex and strategic levels. Alas, he is not to be, most unfortunately:

    1. Total political freedom of the masses, rather than
freedom of the President and his cabinet at state
    house.
    2. Drastic reduction of presidential powers.
    3. Separation of State from the Executive
    (Government).
4.Separation of powers of the three arms of
gevernment re Executive, Judiciary and Legislature.
    5. Federalism, deconcetration and devolution of
powers to the people: Regions, Districts,
    Constituences, Wards and Villages.
    6. Restoration of the Barotseland Agreement of…

  42. Seems the whole zambia is out of its senses. There is nothing anyone can do without reference to tribe? All individual decisions must not be aligned with a tribe or province.Atleast 20% of every province apart from Lusaka and copperbelt are occupied by non tribal grouping. Can all the leaders please lead their people properly and discourage this tribal cheap talks. Its misleading our young people who may not know what is right or wrong

  43. RB plunder was his own making and not PF! Justice has no party colours. Whoever wrote this article is an imbecile, what has happened to genuine reporters in Zambia? If you break the law, you have to face justice! Immunity is not a licence to plunder the country and allow your sons to extort money on your behalf! RB and his son acted like a little Mafia family extorting the companies doing business in Zambia and Zambian workers ended up being treated like trash!
A good reporter never speculate because speculation is equivalent to fabrication of stories! RB is not political heavyweight like VJ or like Sata was, without Mwanawasa, there is nothing to write about RB. He was just a failed minor UNIP politician who Zambians never gave a second glance because he has no leadership qualities!

  44. Very lazy authour. Do enough research before writing; you article is based on the assumption that RB has endorsed EL. Why not confirm that fact before writing? Lazy chap.

  45. I for one don’t see anything wrong with RB supporting to vote for Lungu, just as you are a Zambian who must be respected for your opinion , as for me Lungu stands to be supported by well meaning Zambians; well Lungu has not shown that he can steal from his people and you don’t see him peddling any tribalism ; to me he deserves a vote , you vote for some one you trust not just any one who stands up to gain votes

  46. Zambians are naturally thick.

How can one believe that HH sold the mines for a song, does this mean even me i can wake up one day and sale the mines without the government knowing about its until campaign time.
HH is a Satanist and people believe this and it becomes a campaign on this.
Sata choose Lugu to act when away because Lugu is wise and capable and people believe this.
When you are away put someone who is very thick and can not think right or take over from you.
This is a fact of life, you do not live your position to a competitor or wise person or you will be over thrown.
At times i feel bad to belong to a country full of thick people.

  47. RB has indeed his constitutional right to endorse a person he feels can lead Zambia. KK endorse EL. So what….. HH must learn to work with others. He failed to work with Sata and later failed to work with MMD. Don’t complain.

  48. Guys, insults from both UPND and PF just chase your would be sympathizers.

Maybe better to join Mulyokela than ukutukwa naimwe. You think Zambia is PF or UPND. Mututeke infine as though you hold our voters card.

EL eo tulefwaya!! Respect my wish while I know others want HH. We must compaign maturely. My opnion is not yours but both your opinion and mine must be respected.

  49. Would you have written all this trash if Rupiah supported your under 5? What have gat to say about the morality of all those MMD mps who have abandoned President Never Mumba for hakalusa hagain? what have got to say about Sebastian Zulu’s endorsement of yo under 5?nonsense.

  50. RB HAS THE RIGHT TO JOIN EL, it’s His personal decision. You just a journalist, who are u to discourage him? He can even kiss his enemy if he wants. U r not a journalist to create news in favor of yr minions ! Journalism is zambia has no Ethics
