Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga has observed that despite the ruling party’s reconciliation, the UPND has maintained the same momentum they started with when they launched their campaign.
Dr. Mwaanga says the united party for national development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has maintained his political mileage.
Speaking in a telephone interview, Dr. Mwaanga says political activities have however gone a bit slow to allow Zambians celebrate Christmas day.
Dr. Mwaanga, who is currently in Monze campaigning for Mr. Hichilema, says Mr. Hichilema stands a better chance of winning the forthcoming presidential by-election.
Dr. Mwaanga stresses that the dispute in the ruling PF will go beyond 20th January, 2015 because they have not gone to the bottom of the problem.
Dr. Mwaanga states that those people with differences within PF they have got followers, hence there is need for them to go back to them and change their mindset.
Dr. Mwaanga says he only hope and believe that Zambians will vote wisely and choose the right person to run the affairs of Zambia.

LUANGWA residents on Friday told acting president Dr Guy Scott that the district is a no go area for the opposition because the Patriotic Front (PF) government has delivered on its promises.
The residents said when the late president Michael Sata went to campaign, he promised to tar the Luangwa Bridge – Feira road, build a secondary school and a hospital in the area.
The government has since completed the tarring of the 91 km stretch, the building of Feira secondary school and construction of the district hospital.
Dr Scott said, “The PF is finding it easy to campaign, we just point at the project that have been completed and those going on as our campaign message.”

Lungu is wasting his life trying to be president. He is unqualified even by the low Zambian standards. To accuse Vernon Johnson Mwaanga of tribalism in favor of Tongas is immoral. In 1964 VJ supported KK instead of Nkumbula, a fellow southerner. In 1991, Mwaanga supported Chiluba. In 2001 he supported MMD under Mwanawasa instead of Mazoka a fellow Tonga. Further, VJ supported Banda instead of Hakainde in the last election which late Sata and PF won.
Mwaanga is a true democrat, a patriot, seasoned politician and diplomat who never looks at tribe. But because he has supported HH who is seen as the best candidate, suddenly VJ becomes a tribalist because the candidate is Tonga. Come off it man!

I have been with Edgar since he was declared PF President.
Yes today he did not manage to campaign as he was still being attended to by us 6 medical doctors.
Starting from tomorrow Edgar will be campaigning.
But the truth is that the PF Presidential Candidate has very poor healthy, in short our candidate is very sick its only that he is very strong.
Edgar has also been advised by PF doctors that should he over strain himself during these campaigns, then he might die even b4 2016.
Iam not decampaigning him in anyway but i am just updating all PF members on the healthy of our candidate.
