Janza takes positives from friendly loss

Share

Honour Janza says he is satisfied with his team’s performance despite teams’ loss to Bafana Bafana on Sunday.

Zambia were beaten 1-0 away in a pre-2015 Africa cup friendly by Bafana at Orlando Stadium to start 2015 on a low note.

“We achieved what we wanted. This friendly was for the technical bench and players to see who was ready and which areas we can improve on. This has been achieved,” Janza said.

The loss ended Janza’s five match unbeaten run dating back to September 10, 2014 when Zambia lost 2-1 away to Cape Verde in a 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier.

Zambia line-up:
Mweene (Munyau 45), Sunzu (Munthali 55), Nkausu, Kondwani, Sinkala (Sautu 88″),R.Kabwe, Lubambo (Mukuka 68″), Kalaba, Mayuka (J.Mwanza 45″), Singuluma, Chisamba (Chamanga 57″)

  1. I have not watched Zambia play for some time , and it’s difficult to say whether what I watched today at Orlando is what is left of the used to be real bullets. Chanza must take full charge and command of his troops, his colleague made it clear that there is no such a thing as friendly game between two nations and he instilled that spirit in his troops. Our boys honestly didn’t manifest their readiness to battle it out at international level. Too slow , physically too ,they are only ready for jazz dance.

    • I have said it before. I think we are going to AFCON to play soccer and not to compete. This hatred by local coaches of professional players is coming back to halt zambia I can assure you. Let’s forget about second round. We are in the building phase.

    • That was one of the most useless performances in recent memory. Janza and team have an uphill battle at the AFCON. The team couldn’t even muster a single shot on target over 90 mins! That’s how bad we were. I know many people didn’t see the match and perhaps saving Janza the backlash he deserves. The players looked unfit and got very tired in the second half. To give some perspective Yeovil played better against Man utd when compared to the Zambian team.

  2. Ba Muyembe! Amalanda kanwa tayawama. I am sure nga twalimipele bola ati panteni..kuti mwapusa na bola iili stationary.
Over and above the boys played well. The concern is in the Striking Power. Mayuka doesn’t seem to be the panacea. I hope Janza and his technical team learnt valuable lessons from the match.

  3. He was trying some players. Now he knows who is who in the team. To me our team played well. Let’s just support the team.

    • Trying some players! Now! He had the whole year to try them. Forget about the second round. This will be Zambia’s second dismissal in the first round

  4. Mayuka would have been better off in the UK at least he would have a chance to practice and play in the FA cup…he is not good enough for international team full stop.

  5. The coach himself is a novice. Why not bring back Jacob,Mbesuma and Katongo. We need these guys without doubt. They can make a difference otherwise we wont reach the knock out stage again.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  6. I have said it before Janza is clueless period Kalusha wake up and smell the coffee or else zambia will lose whole their games in that group

  7. I did not watch the match but go back and watch the game between Congo DR vs Ivory Coast which ended 4:3 in favor of DR Congo. It looks like DRC is the strongest team in the group and it will be a mountain to climb for Chipopolo to reach second round.
