PATRIOTIC FRONT Southern province chief campaign coordinator Syachiye Madyenkunku says the party is concerned with the growing violent attacks of its members from the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) in Monze and Mazabuka.
Mr Madyenkuku accused the UPND of pursuing the PF cadres every where they were going to have meetings and attacking them in the two mentioned areas.
Mr Madyenkuku said the recent violent attacks from the UPND in Monze and Mazabuka had left people injured and property damaged a thing he said was unfortunate in a democratic dispensation.
Speaking during a media briefing in Livingstone yesterday, Mr Madyenkuku appealed to the UPND leadership to order their cadres to stop the violence.
He further appealed to the PF members to show maturity by exercising maximum restraint from all forms of violence even when provoked.
“We want to have a violent free and peaceful election. So am appealing to the PF members to exercise maximum restraint even when provoked,” Mr Madyenkuku said.
He commended Livingstone as a district for standing out during this period saying that there were no incidences of violence that had been reported.
“I want to commend you as Livingstone for the wonderful work you are doing to ensure that the campaign goes on well as compared to other districts in the province. Livingstone seems to be ahead of other districts and you are unique,” Mr Madyenkuku said.
And Mr Madyenkuku assured the PF party members present that with the campaign strategy that they had put in place, Edger Lungu would win the forth coming presidential by elections.
But when contacted for comment, UPND District spokesperson Neto Halwabala described Mr Madyenkuku’s allegations as wild and alarming.
Mr Halwabala said Mr Madyenkuku was a finished politician and an opportunist who was looking for a job.
He said it was actually the UPND who were victims of political violence from the PF and wondered why Mr Madyenkuku was putting the blame on the UPND.
“It’s a pity that a man of his level can start issuing out such wild and alarming statements. We are actually the ones who are victims of political violence from the PF. We cannot follow them because they are not a factor,” Mr Halwabala said.
Mr Halwabala advised Mr Madyenkuku to term his tongue because it would be a recipe of false alarm.

Where ever UPND is attacked there is evidence. Where is the evidence of those attacks in Southern Province? Produce pictures if any. If anything, police are very quick to arrest any member of the opposition accused of causing violence.
If PF think they will attack UPND at will like they are doing every where ,its just a matter of time before UPND start hitting back to silence the violent PF cadres.
How possible is it that, UPND can attack PF cadres without being being arrested? It just doesn’t happen under PF regime.

Home Affairs Deputy Minister and Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo has said that the UPND should not go back to the area without his clearance.
Kampyongo maintained that the UPND should consult him as Member of Parliament and other stakeholders before they go back to hold a rally in the area.
This follows the UPND’s vow to go back to Shiwang’andu after their earlier attempt to hold a rally was violently stopped by the PF cadres.
He claimed that the UPND was free to hold meetings in the area but should consult him and the police before they could proceed so that the police provide security.
