Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata has praised the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for partnering with government to improve the education sector.

Mr. Sata said UCZ has contributed a lot in the area of education and in alleviating poverty especially among the less privileged people in society.

He said this today in a speech ready on his behalf by his deputy Potipher Tembo during the United Church of Zambia’s golden jubilee celebrations at Arcades shopping mall in Lusaka.

Mr. Sata has since urged the UCZ to continue with this good work of not only preaching the word of God but assisting the poor people in society.

And United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Synod Bishop Mutale Mulumbwa said the church has made a lot of strides in educating people since its inception in 1965.

Bishop Mulumbwa said the UCZ will continue working with government in addressing the social ills affecting citizens in the nation.

He noted that there were many troubled people that were facing problems hence the need for the church’s intervention.

    • The reality is his father (MHSRIP) was! From what I understand even Obama and most American Presidents are! Unfortunately, most people have a wrong impression about Free Masons. According to history it was some kind of brotherhood. It is no surprise that most are successful! Mushota since you are one, lets not call this one a Satanist unless you have proof. It will be interesting to see how HH/Chomba case pans out!

  2. “There are things about organized religion which I resent. Christ is revered as the Prince of Peace, but more blood has been shed in his name than any other figure in history. You show me one step forward in the name of religion, and I’ll show you a hundred retrogressions…I’m for decency—period. I’m for anything and everything that bodes love and consideration for my fellow man. But when lip service to some mysterious deity permits bestiality on Wednesday and absolution on Sunday—count me out.”

  3. “Many people do simply awful things out of sincere religious belief, not using religion as a cover the way that Saddam Hussein may have done, but really because they believe that this is what God wants them to do, going all the way back to Abraham being willing to sacrifice Issac because God told him to do that. Putting God ahead of humanity is a terrible thing.”

  4. Half of Zambia’s fatherless children are products of UCZ hypocricy. UCZ choirmasters have impregnanted 100’s of 1000’s of Zambia’s virgins!

Countless of UCZ Boys Brigade officers do not care for their aging parents who struggled to raise them up during the harsh times when Kaunda was president.

  5. I flatly refused again to join any church or sign any church creed. From my 30th year on I have increasingly regarded the church as an institution which defended such evils as slavery, color caste, exploitation of labor and war.

    UCZ destroyed my life.

  6. I started out with a sincere desire to know and to please God but something went terribly wrong over the years and in the end I turned my back on the Church and Organized Religion.

  7. I’ve been wondering where you were Mulenga! I was guessing you’d be in some far flung secret resort, licking your wounds and plotting how next to increase your ill-gotten inheritance.

But now the guessing game is over. I see that you have realized how little regard the folks had for you – the church is the correct place to turn to. Mmmmm Hmmmm, the very correct place.

  8. The stubbornness of HH surprises me. The guy knows he erred about promising to reduce mealie meal, fertilizer and fuel prices, and has realised that he has nothing to talk about. His failure to be advised is clear manifestation of dictatorial tendencies. He is misleading the masses. The route of free education, free health services and subsidies are the things destroyed the Zambian economy in 1980 and 90s. Zambia cannot afford to go that route. HH must study the value chains of these commodities and services to understand he is peddling lies. Whats wrong with this guy. What Zambia needs is proven leadership that builds on the successes of the previous governments since 2001. EL and PF must continue.
