UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema will distribute the wealth of the country to all Zambians if he is elected into office in next week’s presidential election, former First lady Maureen Mwanawasa has said.
Speaking during a campaign rally at Changanamai grounds in Kitwe on Saturday, Dr Mwanawasa said Mr Hichilema is a good leader who has the interests of Zambians at heart.
“Zambia needs a leader who will unite the country. Mr Hichilema will appoint ministers from all the 10 provinces of Zambia. UPND will bring free education from primary to secondary level. He will create job opportunities for our people, ” Dr Mwanawasa said.
She said Mr Hichilema has fresh ideas and good plans to develop Zambia.
Patriotic Front (PF) Kasama Central member of Parliament (MP) Geoffrey Mwamba said it is wrong to allegedly reject someone because of their tribe.
“It is unfair to accuse the Tonga people of being tribal when they voted for the late President Frederick Chiluba when we introduced plural politics in 1991 and during the 2006 elections,” he said.
Lunte MP Felix Mutati also said although the PF government is developing roads, the issue is about the quality of these infrastructure.
“We have not refused. The PF government has brought roads but it is the quality of the roads we are talking about. Mr Hichilema will attend to people’s problems and reduce their suffering,” Mr Mutati said.
UPND national chairperson Mutale Nalumango, Copperbelt provincial chairperson Elisha Matambo and former Ministry of Home Affairs permanent secretary Peter Mumba attended the rally, which was disrupted by heavy rains.

THE IGNORED SECRETES OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN ZAMBIA- BY ‘PROFESSOR OF POLITICAL SCIENCE’ (LUSAKA – ZAMBIA)
KNOWING AND CONGRATULATING THE WINNER OF THE 20TH JANUARY 2015 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.
IS IT “HAKAINDE HICHILEMA OR EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU?”
Any of the two above mentioned candidates will be declared winner before 31st January 2015 & be sworn in by our Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda.

In 2011, when I wrote that Late President Micheal Chilufya Sata (MHSRIP) will win the elections, a lot of people especially members of the MMD disagreed with me and called me all sorts of names and insults. This is because majority of them were depending on the propaganda that was being carried out by Government and State Controlled Media such as ZNBC TV and Radio, ZANIS, TIMES OF ZAMBIA, ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL AND TO SOME EXTENT ‘CHANDA CHIMBA’S DOCUMENTARIES.
What majority of MMD Members ignored was the fact that a lot of people were not happy with Rupiah Banda’s Corrupt Government and the overstaying of the MMD in power.

Political Rallies are not the best instrument of gagging the popularity of any political party. Yes they give an insight of outcome but that is just 40%. This is so because 50% of people that attend rallies may not actually vote in any impending election: some are not registered voters, some have shifted from places where they are registered from, while some just attend for Chitenge Material or T Shirts and this time; majority of people attend rallies are just transported like what happened in Nakonde where a named political party transported close to 1000 Tanzanians just to show Zambians that he has a lot of support.

The best way of determining the next winner is by u getting deep in societies/communities and hears what people say about a particular Presidential Candidate; hear which presidential candidate commands a lot of support and analyses from there.
Prior to 2011 elections, many observers including the European Intelligence Community (EIU) had predicted that Rupiah would win the presidential elections, but they were not only shocked with the outcome but were also very embarrassed when the candidate they were predicting to win almost came third. This is because 100% of their predictions proved to be opposite and this was the major reason why Rupiah Banda had to shade tears.

Little did the local and international observers knew that in Zambia, the victory and popularity of any political candidate is not gagged by majority of people attending political rallies but by what people say about that candidate and the political party in the village/community.
And with less than 5 days remaining before campaigns close, majority of people are again debating who between HH and Edgar Lungu is the best candidate.

While HH is enjoying the support of Muvi TV, Zambian Watchdog, some experienced politicians like VJ, Felix Mutati, Maureen Mwanawasa to mention but a few, Edgar Lungu enjoys the support of the ZNBC TV, ZNBC Radio, Times of Zambia, Zambia Daily Mail, the ruling party and that of the Acting President and mostly, he enjoys the support of Rupiah Banda; the Eastern Power Strong Man.
These two men attract very good and almost equal crowds during rallies but the question is, who between the two is enjoying more support by people in the community, that is; who is the most positively talked about candidate by majority Zambians?.

Yes Edgar Lungu will give HH a good and commendable chase but
NOT that which will make him win the presidential elections. No doubt, Rupiah Banda’s support for Edgar Lungu is a plus to Edgar Lungu’s votes in Eastern Province, but to the contrary, it is a minus in Lusaka and Copper belt Province where the majority of people voted against him in 2008 and 2011. This is because in these two provinces, Rupiah Banda is considered to be the worst corrupt president to have ruled Zambia since the reign of Fredrick Chiluba. With only less than 5 days remaining before the end of campaign period, it is now clear that there is nothing which the PF and Edgar Lungu can do which is greatly liked to change the status quo; not even the reduction in fuel pump prices, the unprecedented adverts on

reinstating of nurses, the support of Rupiah Banda & Dora Siliya or the purported reconciliation with the Acting President and Miles Sampa will have a big bearing on the election results.
The Late Micheal Sata was more popular at the time of elections than Edgar Lungu today but still did not manage to go beyond 45%. This tells you that since Edgar is not Sata, his votes will be reduced and mostly by 10%.
In conclusion, I would like to state that according to the research conducted by Government and Private Agencies under the office of the president and other reliable organizations such as the Zambian Quickie Analysis Group, the candidate who is likely to win the forth coming presidential elections

But unfortunately, the reality on the ground does not seem to favour me and thousands others that would have loved PF to continue. There is now little doubt that UPND/HH will emerge victorious after the 20th January’s polls and us in the PF should be ready to bear the shock. The infighting in the PF and the violence behavior of some of our carders seem to have costed us a lot.

After losing this election, my humble appeal to PF is to remain steadfast because hope will not have been lost for we still have 2016. It is wishful thinking that the UPND will implement all their campaign promises within 20 months and there failures will make the PF to bounce back in 2016 by the Grace of God.
As the Patriotic Front, let us continue working together in developing our great nation even after losing the elections to show Zambians what we stand for.
In conclusion, I would like commend the PF for the spirit of togetherness that we have displayed after the death of our late president and founding father of our party His Excellence Micheal Chilufya Sata and May His Soul rest In Peace.

laughable idea – Zambia has had free education in primary since the days of Mwanawasa – So far the results are disastrous, including academic performance of learners. Parents are forced to pay user fees and other admin cost. School need running costs apart from teachers’ salaries. They need tissue, water bills and electricity in some cases. Travel allowances for teachers. Seminars and Workshops for teachers. At the moment the grant for primary school is as little as 2000. What can this be used for? So schools are asking parents to buy tissues, floor polish, pay for water, pay for extra lessons etc. At the end someone has to pay for the running of the schools, otherwise govt need to find more money.
What the lady is saying is that wealth will not only be in the Panga family, Nsanda, Mwamba Chikwanda etc, all Zambians regardless of tribe, if you have talent then you are included in that classification. Why should you have Nsanda a grade 7 as chairman of RDA, father Bwalya grade 12 used to be a CEO. Under HH you have to have qualification for the job.
