MATERO member of Parliament (MP) Miles Sampa says his constituency will deliver the highest number of votes for Patriotic Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu in next Tuesday’s presidential election.
Mr Sampa, who is deputy minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, said Matero constituency is ready to deliver the historical number of votes to Mr Lungu on January 20.
He was speaking in an interview at State House on Sunday evening shortly after participating in the golf tournament hosted by acting President Guy Scott to fundraise for the Kasisi Children’s Home.
Mr Sampa said he has been working hard to ensure Mr Lungu gets the majority vote in Matero.
“As Matero, we will give our candidate Edgar Lungu the highest number of votes. And because of those votes, we will give him, definitely he will win the presidential election,” he said.
Mr.Sampa is confident that Mr Lungu will emerge victorious because of the many development projects the PF administration has embarked on.
He explained that he has not been moving with Mr Lungu during campaign trails because he has also been campaigning in different places.
“All of us cannot be in the same area, we need to go in different places and come next week, [this week] I will be in Northern Province to campaign.
“We reconciled and everything is fine. Campaign is not about all of us going in the same area, we need to spread,” he said.
Mr Sampa said he communicates with Mr Lungu almost on daily basis to strategise on the campaigns.
