Janza moans after departure delay

Share

Interim coach Honour Janza has cracked and opened up after enduring a logistical headache prior to Zambia’s departure for the 2015 Africa Cup.

Janza told local press on Thursday that he was disappointed with Zambia’s travel plans and was even more hurt to be heading to the Africa Cup without permanent contract.

“I am not happy with the delay in the team departure on the 15th and arrival on the 16th.It is now a challenge,” Janza said.

Janza added that he felt hurt that after qualifying the team to the Africa Cup a concrete deal was not forthcoming.

“I need a contract as way respect. I will be playing teams whose coaches have not just contract but a good contract,” Janza said.

“It shows respect when you have a contract especially when assigned with big responsibilities like going into AFCON.”

Meanwhile,Zambia finally left their South African base on Thursday afternoon after three-week pre-2015 tournament training camp in Johannesburg.

Zambia will land in Equatorial Guinea on Friday less than 48 hours before they face DR Congo in their opening Group B match on Sunday.

  1. So the coach is technically working as a ‘casual’ . But why did this guy accept to work without a contract ? Beats me.

    • Iwe kongole walishiba nechisungu. Ati it beats me. Iye iwe satana. If you are a follower of bola yapa Zed you would have not got beaten. Asyright batini!

    • am tired of this! i tried to call Kalu, am told he is ku ma campaigns with HH,, I tired to call kambwili, he is busy with Edgar Lungu, otherwise kambwili will be fired,,,, kasengele also is in madam Nawakwi`s campaign,,, nkweto phone is off!!,,,,,i think its better to withdraw from AFCON,,, otherwise our boys wil just died of ebola for nothing

  2. I would`ve been surprised if FAZ and PF Government managed to fly the team in time. That`s extremely difficult for PF government to do. They can by pangas on time but not to fly the national team in time, even to an important event like Africa Cup. Good luck to the boys tho.

  3. Under the guise of “not exposing” the players to injury, games are arranged with South African division 1 teams, when the truth is simply managerial incompetency. Kicking a ball and Football Management is not the same thing.

At least give the man a contract even if it is a three month term, it is a contract and not a blatant disregard for the Labour laws.

With regards to the travel arrangements, the less said the better.

  4. FAZ has some explaining to do! This is not the message or mood expected a few days before a major international tournament. Logistics should have been sorted months ago. Give that man a contract!

  5. You are telling me that when you left Zambia ,you did not sit down with FAZ to plan for the tournament?
Teams are busy having final friendly preparations and you are playing friendlies with South African 1st division teams. Is that how you are planning to win the AFCON?

Oh by the way, after losing all 3 matches, you will be fired!

  6. Zambia is just a failed State, with people holding positions not via merit, but Corruption, Nepotism / Tribalism, hence these Corrupt Cowboys would Not be able to even organize a Drunken party in a Brewery.
    THE INCOMPETENCE IS MINDBOGGLING!!!

  7. Janza needs a contract ASAP … Kambwili should watch his words. This is a national endeavor and it has to be treated with the respect it deserves.

Meanwhile, I wish our boys the best of luck. Forget the logistical adversities you just faced and focus on the task ahead. You are well able to bring the Cup home.

As for Janza, lift yourself up and show everyone what kind of material you are made of. Sometimes it takes your work alone speaking on your behalf to shame your adversaries.

If you do this right, you will be the first Zambian Coach to bring the Cup home. You are equal to the task so cheer up, we are counting on you.

Back too you boys … You have done it before, you can do it again …. Chipolopolo, iyeeee, Fipolopolo!

God Speed from your Number 1 Fan.

  8. Kambwili must resign on moral ground for late depature of the team.surely, why should it be always Zambia having problems of logisticts in fyng out the team.let me WARN Kamwili that football in Zambia is bigger than politics. So stop politicking and resign on moral ground because any underperforming of the tean in equitorial you will be in trouble.

  9. After AFCON Janza will prove or disapprove himself as deserving of the top coach for national team or not. He has not done anything so far to even merit talking about signing a contract. My friend don’t take chances, work hard, prove to your employers that you are competent for the job.
    Thnks

  10. Janza will get the team to qualify to the semi finals. Then the countries with better organizations and governments will want him and his price will quadruple compared to what FAZ would have gotten him for now. This government can’t even make such simple negotiating calculations.
    SUPPORT OUR BOYS
    SAVE OUR FARMERS
    VOTE HH! !!

  11. Let me remind the Zambian people that west africa is experiencing ebola disease in some regions therefore the minister of sports can limit the number of supporters going into equatorial guinea. This may have contributed to the purported delay.
    All the best zambia.
