THE MMD in Northern Province has called for the immediate expulsion of three Members of Parliament from the province for supporting the opposition.
Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary Cephas Bwalya said in a statement today that the decision was arrived at following a meeting of the provincial executive committee (PEC) held on 10th January at Green Village lodge in Kasama.
He said during the meeting, the provincial committee recommended to their National Executive Committee (NEC) for the immediate expulsion of Lunte MP Felix Mutati, Mbala MP Mwalimu Simfukwe and their Senga Hill counterpart Kapembwa Simbao.
Mr. Bwalya said the three MPs have betrayed the party by supporting and campaigning for the opposition instead of the MMD – a party which sponsored them to the national assembly.
He said PEC felt that the trio had rendered themselves useless and irrelevant to the interests of the party because their actions meant that they never truly supported the leadership of Dr Nevers Mumba since he was elected MMD leader.
He added that Northern Province was solidly behind Dr Nevers Mumba’s intention to write to the Speaker of National Assembly to declare the three parliamentary seats vacant.
Mr. Bwalya further said that such kind of leaders had no space under the ‘New Hope’ MMD.
He said the revolution for genuine leadership had ignited in the nation, adding that the people of Zambia were not going to condone mediocre leaders

Mutati is the incoming vice president and a future president (7th President) of the republic of Zambia. Give him space to flex his muscles. This weekend is crutial, we need all the big boys (GBM, Mutati, Mucheleka, Mwale, Patel, Desai, and the ladies Mwanawasa, Mutale Nalumango and Masebo on the copperbelt on a platform together.) If I were HH, my final strategy would be to hold a press conference on Friday and Announce the makeup of the key members of my cabinet. This would make the election about the Team HH rather than just about President HH. What do others think.
I think you are in for a shock next week when EL wins it. When the elections are over next week, many of these so called bigwigs will be fighting for their political survival. The fall out will be catastrophic and will continue into the 2016 general elections. Masebo, GBM and those MMD NEC membsra will be expelled and by elections will be held. It will be interesting to see which party adopts them to stand against the PF, perhaps the rainbow party.

Some non Tongas think HH is coming to replace Sata’s tribalism and nepotism with Tonga tribalism and HH nepotism. HH can’t stoop that low. All MMD MPs have rebelled, so if you start expelling then you may end up expelling all of them. I am not sure you will be able to win back these seats in bye elections. Instead of such knee-jerk reactions, I would advise you to do a “post-mortem” to find out why your party is being deserted.

UNIP, MMD and PF are all past parties. God shut them in the last 50 years. We are now in a jubilee era with a Jubilee party and president come 20th January. It is the hand of God which steered confusion in PF and MMD so as to stop them from being relevant after 24th October 2014 as Zambia clocked 50 years. Pushing for their existence is contending with God and can result in curses. KK ruled 27 yrs; Chiluba 10; Mwanawasa 7; RB 3 and MCS 3 totalling 50 yrs, and God closed that era of oppression, vindictiveness, vengeance, retributions, manipulations, intimidations, corruption and witchcraft which characterized these parties. May hope, brotherhood, sisterhood, liberty and fraternity rule from the 21st January 2015 as demonstrated in the coming together of Hakainde, Mutati, Mutale, Mwanawasa, Patel, Mucheleka, Situmbeko and Pande to carry the day and not fragmentation.

RB is UNIP. He is not MMD. He has never renounced his membership to UNIP. He is still a UNIP card carrying member. It’s just Mwanawasa who gave him a job and miraculously became President. Otherwise, he was forgotten and busy climbing young girls in Chipata.
