Transparency International Zambia Executive director Goodwell Lungu says they have developed a well tested and robust Parallel Voter Tabulation system (PVT) whose results will be tabulated as confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

Mr Lungu has assured the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) that the PVT will be done within the confines of the law and will only contain and confirm results that ECZ officials will officially announceGoodwell-Lungu-TIZ at both polling station and constituency levels.

He explains that the purpose of this PVT and robust monitoring is to promote transparency and enhance confidence in the electoral process and the results management by availing members of the public an avenue to compare what the ECZ will finally announce at the National Totaling Centre and what TIZ will capture in at the lower structures.

Mr Lungu says TIZ is appealing to all political party agents to ensure that they sign off on all election results sheets and desist from leaving the polling centres when they notice that their candidates are losing, a tendency witnessed in the previous elections.

He states that this gives rooms for political parties to suspect that the results may be tempered with and that this is what TIZ wants to avoid at all costs.

Mr Lungu says tabulated results will be published on the TIZ Website www.tizambia.org.zm , Facebook page and Twitter.

PVT goes without saying. Each polling station and voting booth must be guarded and protected by all stakeholders. We want thugs, drunkards and vision-less pretenders to the throne OUT! by Wednesday next week.

TIZ is an extension of PF. hence we do not trust you lungu. please UPND leadership use the PVT to guard your votes and do not use corrupt monitors they will be oiled by EL’s team careful do not just talk the talk

UPND ensure PVT at all polling stations. The truck still had 135,000 pre marked ballots. ECZ we need tabulation of the electronic transmission per polling stations adding up to a constituency for cross checking purposes since all is electronic. We do not want block figure transmissions

Honestly… do you expect UPND to win?? Be serious.
I don’t think they have the numbers to match PF.
Bloggers am being very honest and realistic. Ave traveled about 25 districts in the past two months….The picture is more PF than UPND.

Please people don’t exaggerate your disappointment on 21st January.
