Zambia have landed in Equatorial Guinea for the 2015 Africa Cup.
The team arrived just after lunch on Friday in Malabo on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Johannesburg via Addis Ababa after departing from South Africa on Thursday.
Zambia were met at Malabo Airport by FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya.
The team was later expected to fly to the mainland town of Mongomo and from there take a 45 minute drive to their Group B base at Ebebiyin.
Zambia face DR Congo on Sunday in their opening Group B match.
Tunisia and Cape Verde are the other teams in Group B.
what is kambwili saying now??
man Kambwili was right, the question is what is Janza’s saying now. the issue is clear, Kambwili thinks Janza Forward is backed by UPND contributor Kalu.
Come Wednesday morning, Kambwili PF 1-5 UPND Janza
God help us! As a country we’ve such a traumatic soccer history that our team’s ARRIVAL constitutes NEWS and HAS to be CELEBRATED! And the only to conquer this anger is MASSIVE SUCCESS in this tournament !!!!
Ala pa Sunday bakatunaya….
That’s good news to hear.Go Boys Zambia is behind you.Not Sport Minister
@one Love, I hope not – although the skillful DRC team scares me. My observation over the years is that IT IS WINNING THE FIRST GAME that makes a team progress into the next stage.
No acclimatisation kikiki HH says poor leadership ayilenga
I think the team to watch is RSA , for Zambia I see us coming back first round with 3 losses .Remember ,in southern Zambia they say “suffering is prior to attaining success or perfection” I have not seen this in our current team!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace make just shut the hell up ok.
ZAMBIA WILL ONLY DRAW IN ONE GAME THE REST ARE WINS! VIVA CHIPOLOPOLO, THIS AFCON IS OURS!!! GOD IS WITH YOU BOYS AS HE IS WITH EL..
Our players need to improve on combination of speed and power football if they have to gat good results in Malabo. They have the skills and technique but they just need a little bit of speed/urgency in waves building from the midfield going forward.
A tricky start for Zambia.
But what is this Iam reading in Daily Mail that the boys have been delayed again from Johannesburg?
ROBINSON KUNDA, Lusaka
NATIONAL team coach Honour Janza says going for the Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) finals without a contract is demoralising.
And Janza says chaotic travel arrangements that forced the Chipolopolo to postpone departure for Equatorial Guinea from yesterday to today could affect the performance of the team.
Janza said from Johannesburg yesterday that he has been quiet hoping the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) will offer him a contract before the start of the AfCON.
Janza took over from Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle last August.
He said all the coaches at the 2015 Equatorial Guinea tournament have contracts with their respective governments or football…
This is our tournament. As Liwewe would say
“Lets go boys make us proud die a little for mother Zambia”
I would hope that on sunday we can all set politics aside for 90minutes and support our boys. We are all Zambian and at the end of the day we win or loose together. I wish we could have all the candidates get together at state house hosted by Guy Scott and watch our boys play as a sign of our motto “ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION!”
