Jericho Shinde tells Chipolopolo to beat Congo

Sports Jericho Shinde tells Chipolopolo to beat Congo

Ex-Zambia midfielder Jericho Shinde says it is important that Chipolopolo wins their opening 2015 Africa Cup match against DR Congo to be played in Ebebiyin on Sunday.

Zambia and Congo clash in the opening Group B match hoping to launch their campaign on a high note.

The 1982 Africa Cup star said the match against Congo is a must win for Honour Janza’s side.

The Nkana legend cautioned Zambia against underestimating their rivals.

“I think we should respect our opponents because there are no small teams this time around,” Shinde said.

“The game against Congo is very important because you know in such tournaments the first game is very important. We should not even think of a draw we need maximum three points,” he noted.

Shinde is upbeat about Zambia’s chances in Group B which has Tunisia and Cape Verde as well.

“There is no need to panic and I think we will be able to go through to the next round.”

    • Iye Ba Jericho bamudala! It’s so nice to hear about you! Please show these boys your videos of how you used to it. I remember Dennis Liwewe calling you as TUNKER in reference to your strength on ball “… And wearing shirt No.6 is Jericho Tunker Shinde Shinde Shinde!!!!…”

    • Sorry Madam Mushota (BB2014), you are completely wrong on this one. I know him from my family memebr whom they played together with him before he even became The”Russian Tanker nicknamed by the late Dennis Liwewe. He’s one of the best second generation Zambian soccer, way better than the current Zedian players.

    • Please Madam Mushota, you need to win the award again. Therefore, rethink before you post your comment.

      Twatotela.

  1. @ George Strait, you are commeting on the wrong thread. This is not on politics. This just tells me something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Jericho Shinde ~ Russian Tanker … Strong overlapping fullback as per Dennis Liwewe!!! Well said, muleumfwila a bakalamba …. Iyeeee Chipolopolo, Ba Zambia iyeee Chipolopolo.

Give us 3 points, that’s all we want today. Don’t see Congo or anything, just see each other, pass brilliantly to each other. Your opponents have not faces, just things to move away from.

Bypass when you encounter them, guard against them when they are in possession and dispossess them as soon as they’re in possession. Then pass the ball to each other moving it in the most expedient forward formation possible.

The Congolese have no keeper just another moving object to bypass in the goal area. You and your team mates are the only ones that matter. Objective?? Goals, goals, goals!!

    God speed.

  3. We went to the same school with the Russian Tanker. During his time Chamboli used to beat all secondary schools because the team was star-studded! Bali baume abo kolwe Mushota.
