Patriotic Front president Edgar Lungu has demonstrated that he is a man of his words and has shown that he can be trusted in what he promises, the opposition Alliance for Better Zambia has said.
ABZ president Fr. Frank Bwalya said that when Mr Lungu told the nation that he was not going to use State resources in his campaign some people refused to believe him and others even said that he could not be trusted.
Fr Bwalya said but as the presidential campaign draws to a close, Mr Lungu had demonstrated that he was a man of his words and Zambians should trust him.
He said ABZ believed that the PF leader would not abuse State resources if he became president.
He said his party also believed Mr. Lungu when he said he would be a servant of the people and that they were sure he would not abuse his powers as president.
Fr. Bwalya has appealed to politicians to desist from issuing statements that could plunge the country into chaos.
“As a party we are calling upon all politicians to desist from issuing alarming statements. This is in the wake of what has happened today where a named senior UPND official called a reporter at Radio Phoenix and said Mr Hakainde Hichilema’shouse had been attacked but when this reporter went to Mr Hichilema’s house, he found members of opposition UPND enjoying themselves and there was no such a thing,” Fr Bwalya said.
He said as ABZ, they felt that the official’s conduct was regrettable and a recipe for confusion in the country and therefore extended the appeal to all politicians to realise that such inflammatory statements could plunge the country into chaos.
He however commended the reporter that was called for not broadcasting the story before verifying it, saying this was the kind of professionalism his party expected from all media practioners.
Fr Bwalya said the media needed to be wary of alarmists who were bent on creating confusion and painting some political figures as victims for cheap political mileage.
He urged the public not to take everything they heard from politicians as gospel truth because some of them were bent on misleading the public.
A man of his words when he can hardly speak.
Please even if it looking for a job you are going about it the wrong way. He was supposed to have a pre-recorded interview on ZNBC. It didn’t happen. MUVITV interview he failed to show up.

I can never trust Edgar Lungu. Why? I will only speak a bit from what I have seen. Not heard.
1. Edgar was one of the key ministers in Sata’s admin who deliberately LIED to us everyday concerning Sata’s health.
2. Edgars’ ascendancy to PF presidency was clouded by violence and intimidation. The whole process from the day Sata died will remain for a long time to come a classical case study on anarchy and total disregard to the rule of law.
3. Edgar has conducted the most mediocre and disorganised campaigns in the history of all Zambia’s ruling parties presidential campaigns.
4. Edgar himself told me that He has no vision at all. In fact he first told me he had no ambition to be president at all. I will always suspicious of what made him change.
Of the two leading candidates, I also believe Edgar Lungu can be trusted. He hasnt made too many unrealistic promises during the campaign period when compared to his counterpart. And even before the death of Sata, he seemed to have made some noticeable while acting as President including the release of the constitution.
He seems humble and despite the concerted efforts to lebel him corrupt, a drunk, Muslim, thug and all by the ZWD and M’membe cartel. The man seems to be stable. His only negative tag is “Sata’s PF”. Now that is inexcapable!
In the other corner we have promises after promises. Free education, free health, subsidised maize and fuel, reversal of mining tax, loans to street vendors and all that while mortgaging the nation to the higest bidder.

It’s shocking to listen to and try to digest Bwalya’s messages. Here is a man who castigated Sata, calling him Chumbu (sweet potato tuber) mushololwa (the inflexible one). This, after slaughtering a chicken by wringing its neck at a rally and sprinkling its blood on the attendees. The only other place I saw this practice was in Patancheru, India where devotees were sacrificing to a carved image. Siliya is the woman who raised a finger (f>>K you) to the PF in parliament and today Siliya, Frank Bwalya and Banda the old man against whom PF fought hard in parliament to have his immunity removed, are all in PF.

i had nothing against EL,but his association with RB makes me very uncomfortable. Should I not trust EL? To the contrary, on the scale trustworthiness, EL scores higher than HH.
UPND, and particularly HH, should repent and ask for forgiveness from God and Zambian for Patrick Chisanga and Sakwiba Sikota. The ascendance of HH to lead UPND was at the expense of these two purely on tribal lines.
it pains me to see how fortunes of Mazoka -UPND has disintegrated from main opposition party to mediocre opposition party.
HH must go if he fails to win. intra-party democracy should also be practiced.

Please avail us the criteria for your trustworthiness dimension which puts EL higher than HH. You say HH ascendancy was on tribal lines; evil indeed. What about the ascendancy of EL on intimidation and violence? You want me to believe violence and thuggery is better than tribalism. I refuse to subscribe to your notion. The evil of tribalism, nepotism, racism is the same as that of violence, terrorism and thuggery. I have nothing personally against EL neither am i a UPND cadre, but focuses on merit and impartiality. In this campaign one has been called a satanist and tribalist while the other has been called a Christian and a nationalist, but looking at the characteristics and habits the opposite looks the most likely and factual status. Please balance your assessment

If Edgar Lungu did not even show up at such an important occasion as the presidential debate then what does that tell us? He thinks he can do as he pleases anytime he feels like it. It is obvious why he chickened out so he does not look like a 5th grader against those skilled speakers and would have been out-shined by the only lady candidate. Everyone had enough time their to prepare their campaigns and a matter of planning and prioritization. Yet he claimed he had to finish his campaigns as an excuse. He is out of the race in my opinion as he did not prove to the nation why he is fit to be president. That should serve as a disqualification. I’m not even sure why we would tolerate such in Zambia. Edgar Lungu is nothing yet he see’s himself as the president already and acting like one…
Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. We need to move forward in order to make those positive changes. Ba PF all you did was hire family in diplomatic fields abroad, friends and family obtained promised jobs. But what about the average Zambian? This has cost the nation and the people of Zambia. This was a family run organisation through marriage and family ties. This is unfair and unacceptable and we all deserve a chance to live. We all deserve jobs, health care, youth employment and not only certain people to be flown out of the country for medical treatment.
