Former cabinet Minister Katele Kalumba has charged that no reasonable person can vote for the PF in tomorrow’s presidential election.
Dr Kalumba who is also Headman Natende of Bwile speaking people in Senior Chief Puta’s chiefdom said the amount of hardships that Zambians have been subjected to do no warrant the PF’s continued stay in power.
Dr Kalumba who has since endorsed the candidature of UPND President Hakainde Hichilema was speaking in a special interview aired on Hot FM ahead of the polls.
“If Zambians are not been misinformed on grounds of extraneous materials that has no relevance to political leadership, HH will go through,” Dr Kalumba said.
He added, “PF has made grievous mistakes that no reasonable Zambian would wish a government of this kind to continue. No unreasonable Zambian would wish a government that pledges violence.”
Dr Kalumba said the Panga governance is not what late President Michael Chilufya would have wanted.
“Our forefathers wanted a free Zambia, the public media has been stifled, you never see rallies of the opposition and the opposition leaders have been intimidated and incarcerated by the police acting on instructions from ruling party leaders.”
He said the PF campaign was mainly anchored on a 90 day promise which included enacting a new constitution but has reneged on most of those promises.

Some few Zambians don’t understand what is at stake tomorrow.

I agree. I have made it a point that I watch TV main news at 19hours. I have seen HH in Northern Province, Mazabuka, Mongu, Solwezi, Chingola, Chipata, Kalomo, Livingstone, Lusaka, Chongwe and many other areas being shown on TV. What is Katele talking about when he says you cant see opposite rallies on TV? Maybe he is was speaking from the hospital with no access to TV. I have also heard campaign messages submitted by the campaign team for HH being well covered on TV. If building hospitals and roads makes people to suffer then I don’t know where we are heading to with these Doctors.
I would like to concur with Katele on this one. The power struggle within PF did not paint a good picture. The fact that they had over eight candidates to take over the presidency suggests the leadership isn’t trustworthy. And now we had cabinet ministers passing a vote of no confidence in Guy Scott, exactly what did they want? Didn’t they see that this wasn’t a good move?
On the presidential debates on TV, EL decides not to show up. This wasn’t a decision he made alone; his advisors also thought it was OK. Well said Doc. The real issue is the poverty and the poorest of the society have no insight. They are given money to blind them and vote for fools. After the elections, the suffering continues. Majority of African leaders are so selfish it’s unbelievable. The Western leaders and countries are successful because they are driven by the desire to better the lives of the people. The world is global, we need a leader who’ll foster relationships and not profit fellow thugs. Lungu hasn’t denied his association with Muslims, we have seen what has happened in France in the last weeks. Zambia is constitutionally a Christian country. How does he hope to reconcile his Islamic beliefs with Christianity? Will he be sober enough as to uphold the rule of law? Vote wisely and vote for HH.
