ACTING President Guy Scott has called on the losers of today’s presidential election to concede defeat.

Addressing the nation prior to today’s election, Dr Scott said there can only be one winner, and hence there will be 10 candidates who will face disappointment.

“I appeal to all those losing candidates, whoever they turn out to be, to demonstrate their commitment to democracy by accepting their defeat, however painful that might be,” he said.

Dr Scott said any instance of post-election violence will be dealt with firmly by the Zambia Police and advised political parties and their campaigners to stay away from polling stations and voters.

He said that people must be allowed to cast their vote in peace and privacy.

Dr Scott warned that any group representing themselves as militias or security wings who involve themselves in violence will be arrested and charged.

He also cautioned people promoting such groups that they risk being arrested.

Dr Scott said Zambians must vote with integrity and sincerity for the candidate they believe will do the best job.

“It is vital that every voter is able to cast their ballot without influence, coercion, bribery or intimidation,” he said.

Dr Scott said Zambia has greatly honoured the noble right to vote and that people must demonstrate to the world that they value and honour the principles of democracy.

He called on politicians to avoid premature claims of victory and wait for the returning officer to pronounce the final results.

Dr Scott thanked senior officials, political colleagues and Zambians who supported him during the time he acted as President of Zambia.

“Their integrity, patriotism and professionalism gives me another reason to be proud of Zambia,” he said.

    • Actually, calling all women to rebuke to Edgar Lungus utterances of insolence towards Ms Silva Masebo yesterday at PF rally in Woodlands.
The visionless drunkard has no respect for mothers and women especially, and any normal person should take Lungus insults with contempt it deserves!
Today is game over for PF lunacy. Can’t wait for inauguration celebration of Hakainde Hichilema as the 6th President of Zambia.
0 days left, PF is democratically kicked off today!

    • This message from GS was specifically directed towards UPND and its team delusional…

Off I and my family, my workers and my friends go TO VOTE and guess who will be voting for…Edgar C. Lungu…

FELLOW ZAMBIANS LETS DO THIS IN AN ATMOPSHERE OF PEACE

      ****VIVA EDGAR LUNGU****

    • And Scott you know how Lungu don’t like conceding. Remember how many times you suspended each other. Yes tell Lungu, and he needs clear up mess with Miles Sampa.
He run campaign with Lubinda, all the rest including Inonge abandoned him.

    • An HH victory can unite the country better than a PF victory. An HH victory will allow south-west Zambia to feel like they are a part of this experiment called Zambia. An HH loss will be devastating and will cause an irriversible divide in our beloved country. Yes, we will continue to live together but we shall never look at each other the same way again. The internet wars (tribal wars) that we have gone through over the last couple of months are real and only an HH victory can mend this otherwise broken country. Even if you are not Tonga, Lozi, Luvale or Kaonde u may want to consider voting for a Tonga just for the sake of Peace and inclusiveness. Lungu’s Victory cannot (I repeat) cannot unite Zambia and will just exasabate the situation. Tribalism is Primitive!!

    • Forces of nature will stop any of Lungu ‘s rigging schemes from taking root.

Rigging lines will be jammed completely. By 10 hours tomorrow, a winner will be announced.

    • OPPOSITION United Party For National Development (UPND) spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo Monday failed to mention Jesus Christ in his closing prayer at the end of the party’s Mandevu rally in Lusaka.
The failure by the UPND Spokesperson triggered outrage among the citizenery who attended the rally.

Patrick Kasonde who attended the rally had this say “Lifwekelo fails to mention Jesus in his closing prayer at Mandevu,he just said “We pray in the name amen” Devil worshipers are not allowed to exalt the name of Jesus Christ.
HH will only say god god but which god or what god? Do not vote for DEVIL worshipers.Do not allow STANISTS to have control over our country!”.

    • well spoken hope you will let Lungu and PF accept otherwise, we will come to fight..

We want a free and fair election.. Let this message be clear..

    • He almost caused a national crisis by his disdain for Edgar – and now as you lose, you want to brand him a hero? No way – this guy almost created a serious problem and should not be touted as a hero. He should be grateful to Zambians for giving him this opportunity. But to think we are stupid – think again!!

    • STAY PUT FOR More results as we humiliate tuma opposition.

The current info filtering is that Patriotic Front are headed for a huge LANDSLIDE thumping of the others country-wide.

PF is doing very well in 6 provinces. DNPU is doing very well in one province. We are sharing the 3

Out of 6456 polling station, voting started late in about 74 polling stations and voting might continue up-to tmrw in those affected areas.

      Katondo boys

      i thank you

  1. Thanks Mr. President for the noble way you have conducted yoself during the 3 months u presided over the affairs of this great Nation. **** will Neva ever come close to the Presidency of Zambia. Let’s send him to hell where he belongs for good.

  2. Wise words Dr. Scott. The loosing parties should go back to the drawing board and strategies for 2016. However let mot your PF cadres behave as if they are in control. Police Officers fear Mr. Scott to deal with your cadres. Peace is guaranteed if your PF cadres are tamed. Because of their unruly behaviour some of the people have opted to vote out your PF party. You don’t come out to codenm them each time they are on rampage.

Let peace which surpasses all human understanding prevail in our nation.

    Vote wisely.

    I salute you all.

  3. Countrymen

I have just voted for the candidate of my choice.

I woke up at 03h00 to drive over 200 km to vote!!

I urge you to vote. After that we must all accept the democratic outcome.

I pray Zambia goes forward in unity, development and prosperity. I pray our new leader delivers constitution, lowers cost of living and gives hope to youths!!

  4. Please remember to put a cross on HH. When you do that you shall send this Panga Family into oblivion.

    Vote for HH

  5. Today should be the last we read of insults and tribalism on LT.

Whoever wins is my and your President. The State is bigger than PF and UPND.

  6. Thanks Mr Scott but you could have done better to deter the half Zambian Lungu from presidency! I know that the parentage clause still stands against Lungu. If he fraudulently wins today, like he has frantically done all mischief against us to steal our vote and impose himself on us, you will not only be remembered for it but also be held accountable for allowing the heartless and visionless demagogue to abuse state house and national resources. Whether it takes the likes of captain Solo or not we will not accept Lungu given all the evidence against his credibility. We do not want another by-election nor psychiatric. By the way, how many international observers are here to monitor? The opposition parties should pressure ECZ to learn from countries like Botswana in counting votes directly.

  7. Scott’s wise words are obviously directed at the stubborn drunkard who has a history of getting his way via violence. In his drunken stupor he is unlikely to concede defeat. He is the one to closely watch, HH is a gentleman. Vote wisely.

  8. Thank you Mr Acting President, we know it was not easy to deal with the Panga family, I like you speech it does not take sides. Under the new HH government you will be protected for having rejected using tax payers money. If Chagwa won, God forbid, you will face the wrath of Chagwa who doe not know that you don’t insult a woman especially in public, maybe in Malawi. The instrument belongs to a responsible and mature person, HH. Vote HH don’t just blog.

    • Thank you Comrade.

Today Zambia (you and me inclusive) is choosing a President for the Republic of Zambia (all of us). He is our leader. He will defend and protect all.

For instance if EL or Nawakwi or HH wins and becomes President and then say HH, Nawakwi, EL or Muliokela is kidnapped by some terrorist group, the President will stop at nothing to have his countrymen freed.

Let us all put politics aside and celebrate our democracy. Yes the losers will be disappointed. But no one goes into a contest knowing they cannot lose or else it wouldn’t be a contest!!

ONE ZAMBIA, ONE NATION, ONE PEOPLE, ONE LOVE.

  9. The winner is between Lungu and HH

Either will make a good president, no room for extreme madalas in this ELection

I am now sobering up, one zambia one nation

  10. Fellow Zambians I have voted for the candidate of my own choice at 06:25hrs and i believe my candidate will carry the day. Thank you.

  11. I HAVE JUST VOTED FOR EL. THOUGH I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE TURNOUT. I FOUND NO QUEUE. I JUST ENTERED THE ROOM, NO OTHER VOTERS. AND THIS IS A UPND STRONGHOLD. I HOPE THE NUMBERS WILL IMPROVE BY 18:00RS.

  12. Kikikikikikiki ECL smell and stares victory in the face while HH stares defeat. Halibelela Hukulusa (HH) is a political novice! Zambians don’t want mediocre leadership already identified in HH. I have just cast my vote!

  13. May our God almighty watch over this country. We rebuke the spirit of hatred being perpetrated by some leaders. Zambia is greater than p.f and upnd. May the best man win !!!

  14. HH 32%

    Edgar Lungu 65%

Those are the figures and with the Good Voter Turnout its a plus for Lungu already here in Lusaka and other places

    HH 32%

    Edgar Lungu 65%

  15. Its been interesting campaign and others behaved like its life and death. Prof Luo, Jean kapata, just to metion a few.

For me I do not like violence and any party involved is not my choice.

I would like HH to win but if Lungu wins its still okey its not the end of the world.
Neither puts a meal on my table any way. I pray to God for peace in the nation.
    Thank you Zambians

  16. Whoever thinks HH is losing has failed him/herself and should accept that your analysis was wrong….. HH I personally think will make an impact 2016 parliamentary not Presidency
