PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has won the presidential election to become the sixth President.
Mr Lungu polled 807,925 votes beating his closest rival Hakainde Hichilema of UPND who polled 780,168 votes.
Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda declared Mr Lungu as President at 22:00 hours .
Mr Lungu’s votes represent 48.33 percent while Mr Hakainde’s votes represent 46.67 percent.
FDD president Edith Nawakwi polled 15,321 of the total votes cast.
MMD Nevers Mumba polled 14,609 representing while Tilyenji Kaunda of UNIP got 9,737 with Eric Chanda of fourth Republic getting 8,054.
Elias Chipimo of NAREP got 6,002 while Godfrey Miyanda of Heritage got 5,757 and Daniel Pule of CDP had 3,293.
Ludwig Sondashi of FDA got 2,073 while Peter Sinkamba of Green party got 1,410.
Giving the update ECZ chairperson Ireen Mambilima said the results were from 150 constituencies.
The total registered voters were 5,166,084 and the total votes cast were 1,671,662.
The rejected votes were 17,313 and the percentage turn out was 32.36 per cent.
