Rural News Lameck Mangani's house stoned by PF cadres

Former Deputy Minister of Works & Supply and MMD Chipata central MP Lameck Mangani speaking during the press briefing
Lameck Mangani

Suspected Patriotic Front (PF) cadres on Saturday night threw stones at the house of former Chipata Central Member of Parliament (MP) Lameck Mangani in Chipata.Mr Mangani had
endorsed the candidature of United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema said.

Upon hearing that Mr Lungu had won the January 20th 2015 presidential election, cadres took advantage of the situation and went to Mr Mangani’s residence where they disturbed peace at night by throwing stones at the roof of the house and the main gate.

Mr Mangani confirmed the development yesterday. The former home affairs minister said it was sad that some people took advantage of the celebratory mood by throwing stones at his house.

Meanwhile a PF cadre’s celebration was cut short on Saturday night when he fell off from a bonnet of a moving vehicle. The man who sustained head injuries was rushed to Chipata General Hospital where he had been admitted. He is in a stable condition.

  1. This is mockery of the law, why is this allowed?

What a backward, lawlessness country , zambia is.

    Unforgivable

    Thanks
    Bb2014

    • AH!! IT WAS JUST KIDS IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD WHO THREW STONES ON THE ROOF OF HIS HOUSE AT NIGHT. KIDS DO THAT A LOT. AND IT WAS DARK IF IT WAS PF CADRES HOW WOULD HE ID THEM TO BE PF? THIS IS TOO PETTY.

    • And if he has iron sheets for his roof, even a tiny stone would produce enough noise. if they meant to attack him they would have done so. I agree, it was just kids. Don’t be so petty!

    • Ok well if this is true and not STAGED as UPND have a record of doing then I as an ardent PF supporter condemn this act..PF is not a violent party the violent party as has been proven time and time again is UPND..the fact that I a PF supporter can comeout to condemn this act whoever has done it shows we in PF condemn violence..when have UPND ever come out to condemn their acts of violence?? UPND have NEVER condemned any act of violence including their continued harassment of journalists ..

      BA ZAMBIA WE LOVE YOU

      NOMBA NI EL2016

    • What really is the point of this?
Voting ended exactly a week today, the president, your desired candidate was sworn in on Sunday.

One would expect that the losing candidate and those that supported him would be causing anarchy, instead it is those that were victorious who are still not satisfied.

It is not enough to humiliate your opponents publicly in full view of the entire world, No you need to physically maim them and their innocent families too. To what end? Where is the leadership when the nation needs it the most?

    • Mushota I don’t get you.You don’t know what you want. You have been supporting PF.When we say it is a violent party, you are the first to spring to their defence,so what are you talking about?

    • @Victor 1.4

Iron sheets, really now? LOL. You have cracked my ribs my dear. You know one thing about iron sheets, even a bird settling on the roof can sound like a hoard of P.F cadres stoning your house. HAHAHAHAHA!

On a serious note though, thieves pretending to be cadres celebrating were upto no good even in Lusaka especially Cairo road so Mr.Mangani should produce evidence to show that it was the cadres. People and poverty, they will do anything for a buck.

    • Demons are haunting PF. The conscience is betraying them for they lost the election. They will not rest and will get MORE CONFUSED as we get to 2016. NO HIGH PROFILE SUPPORTER attend ECL’s innauguration-(SUPPORTERS were guilty). PF you will NEVER have peace.

      War seems to be inevitable.

    • @Mushota. Are you really normal? Don’t you know that there is a law that prohibits violence in Zambia. Shame on you.

      Perfectionist
      E16-21

    • This just avttick by upnd kadaz causing mayhen in the name of PF.

With hh at the top, UPND is a tribo party as such it could eeasily ignite civil war. This party must be banned in zambia as long as hh remains the cult figure.

In 2011 after mmd lost no one was harrased .

Wouuld explain why things are now different that upnd lost

    • As long as zwd continuues hate propaganda you risk the live s of tongaz in the shantiz.

      PRACTICAL STEPS:

      Let ZWD STOP HATE PROPAGANGA.

      LET EL PUBLICLY ISSUE WARNING

      LET HH DISSOWN ZWD

LET HOME AFFAIRS MINISTER INSTRUCT POLICE TO DEAL
      WITH OFFENDERS

LET HH DINOUNCE TRIBAL VOTING WE SAW
IN NEG A NEGA AND DUNDUMWEZI

    • The behavior that was displayed when PF won should not be allowed. It was a show of lawlessness. On Great East Road drunk cadres hunting out of moving vehicles swigging from beers bottles. Erratic driving by vehicles bearing PF emblems. Yes it is exciting but the law should be observed otherwise the public is at risk.
Such behavior should be condemned! Zambian police stand up and be counted!

    • @Gearge Strait

You are no stranger to that feeling my bro.

American and Europeans had to use guns at one time to settle scores thats why today rule of law is highly upheld better than us in Africa. Thats why their democracies are now far more advanced than ours.

I think, its just inevitable that the whole of African boundaries drawn by the colonial masters will definitely have to be redrawn by our selves like those of Europe were after the first and second world war.

People never learn at all. Its the same tribal marginalisation that caused a genocide in Rwanda where the Tustis were always told can never rule because they are the minority. Guess what followed, Tutsis took a risk, sacrificed a lot of their people to restore order they have today.

Zambia has a chance not to…

    • JUST BECOZ U ERRONEOUSLY BELIEVE THAT BEATING YOUR WIFE INSTILLS RESPECT IN HER DON’T THINK THE NATION NEEDS SUCH STUPID IDEAS TO RESPECTS TRIBES. INFACT IN ZAMBIA TRIBES ARE RESPECTED, THE FACT THAT HH LOST DOESN’T MEAN TONGAS AREN’T RESPECTED. COZ EVEN NAWAKWI LOST, SO DID MIYANDA, SONDASHI, PULE etc.

    • @George Strait, what is tribal about this? This is a speculative story saying “suspected PF cadres”.Who knows if they are indeed PF cadres? Mangani could have another enemies who could have chosen to take advantage of the situation knowing very well that going by the mood, suspicion will be poured on PF cadres!! So where is the tribe in there? So which tribe stoned which one? If you get too obsessed with this tribe issue you will loose objectivity and blame everything on tribe even your own personal failures in simple things such as reasoning and sensible judgement. Finally you will fail to dress yourself and claim “because of so and so tribes..”!!

    • If Lungu or indeed any other leader will continue to ignore the tribal marginalisation being experienced in Zambia, then a civil war which is currently in people ‘s minds and heart will be actualised.

Any Zambian leader must know that there are rogue elements out there who are ready to supply arms for a stake in any part of Zambia and back the marginalised tribes to break away from Zambia.

I love my country as it is right now but, if such tribal talk and attacks continue, then its better for each tribe to be in charge of shaping its future prospects.

Lungu should condemn that violence and force the police to investigate that incident and get those thugs arrested.

Otherwise, the separation of NORTH WESTERN RHODESIA will soon develop legs and begin to run towards separation.

    • ZAMBIA DOES NOT NEED CIVIL WAR IWE’!!!!
Only a FOOL would wish for Civil War. Have U seen what goes on in Iraq, & Libya???

  2. This is very Sad. PF carders are now more powerful than the state Police. Where is the Inspector General of Police. Politicking is over go back to work without fear or favour. Thank you

  3. Tis guy is an ENDORSER who should have special benefits. Why should this happen. What does it leave Zambia without people of this calibre and specialised roles in society? People doing this need to stop because Zambian election are nothing without ENDORSERS. Like one ‘respected’ commentator says this is mockery of the law and backwardness that we should not put up with. We are very, very, very angry with the perpetuators of such a diabolical act!

  4. Buseko market attacks, Kaunda Square, stalls in markets of perceived UPND supporters being burnt, Taxis and Buses of perceived UPND supporters being blocked from operating from Inter City bus terminus….let the reign of the cadres begin!

    • If UPND had won, then the violence that was prophesied would have manifested. It was God’s own doing that blood shed was averted. In a democracy I can choose whomever I want to support.I have to the freedom of expression.
If this chaos goes unchecked ,the victimized will lose their patience and retaliate.

  5. I can’t imagine what would have become of this nation if PF lost this election looking at what they are doing despite ‘winning’. God help us.

  6. Thuggery is bad regardless of who is involved. We must stop this useless act even when we are excited with victory. any way we forgive those guys/kids who throw the stones out of PF victory-excitement.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  7. I loved the slogan for UPND which really discouraged the use of pangas… It would dominate the campaign podium by telling the rally guys to “No more panga!! No more!!”

You see PF, ought to know that there were “Ma Yussi” in KK’s era.

Thugs with guns in MMD era

    Now pangas in PF.

Just know that your time will come that is when you will remember that golden rule that : DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO UNTO YOU

Very soon a lot of lives will be lost and it will be too late

  8. I noticed at the inauguration of Obama that both Republicans and Democrats attended the ceremony and sang their national anthems with their right palms firmly pasted on their left breasts.
These were people that fiercely opposed each in the Presidential campaigns.
Here at Heroes stadium,a dog is dressed in an opposition leader’s regalia and perched on a coffin for the whole world to view! How bizarre of African politics! Hair raising and weird. Similar to witchcraft practised in Haiti of Zombies. Does this rhyme with a name of certain nationals?

    • It was evil to carry a coffin to represent UPND. Why humiliate other parties? Where was the PF leadership and why wasn’t it stopped? Very strange behavior!
      People have to show maturity!

  9. At mid night (New Years Eve) we would get out kicking dust bins. If this was not effective we would start throwing stones on roofs- as kids.

  10. Wanzelu. I for one have had enough of your n0nsence. Why on earth would you advocate for war in our beloved country? Pray I never find you becoz I’ll give you a good old Zambian beating!

  11. I listern with dismay when violent parties call PF as panga family. Peace makers will agree with me that PF and its leaders have tried to ensure that even after strong provocation from MMD at that time and now violent UPND, Patriotic Front has really rose to the challenge to restrain themselves from retaliations. Just the name Patriotic Front tells you that, its a party that wants to protect the people of Zambia from planderous of our country natural resources and wealth. The truth is that, PF has stood with the people to ensure that this nation is not morgaged by wealth hungry people. we cant talk about National Development if wealth is in the hands of the foreigners and by the way, most parties that is their manifesto. They started by selling Zambias wealth cheaply which themselves bough

    • You were fighting amongst your selves, dont forget this. When did Bembas ever voted for HH? What percentage did HH scored in 2011 elections in northern province ? How many times did RB reminded Easterners to vote for their own.All this was not tribalism ? If a bigger tribe like Tonga is treated like this, what of us smaller tribes from North Wersten who were even called Mazai s ? Just wait for 2016 that is when you will understand that the people from north east rodesia are very angry with the real tribalists,BEMBAs

  12. WooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Uyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  13. PF are the pioneers of candre thuggery and violence. If it was PF that lost elections the nation could have experienced violence.Othe r parties have just learn from them.Remember how the fought MMD candres.Mr Lungu should ensure such thuggery is wiped off his party though same thuggery was used during the PF elctions hence the confussion of having two general conferences.

  14. Mangani was in the house, how does he say its pf cadres? If at all he saw the said cadres then let him report them.

Mangani is playing a wrong card again, when you lose be magnanimous to accept your failures and not mislead people. its not long when mangani failed to deliver chipata to the PF and failed to concede but resorted to accusations.

  15. Even if southern province voted for UPND that does not qualify for the winners candres to victimize Tongas? Are we supposed to vote for one party only.Awe mwadi PF yalileta violence mu politics.Even in America certain states just vote for one party then you have neutral states whats wrong with that. Its pity The tribalists are the ones name calling others.Post has always supported one party and so why cant watchdog support another party too?PF na muwina stop victimising losers God will punish you. This is a christian nation violence should not be tolerated.

  16. All these happening have the blessings of the party structures, otherwise by now sanity would have been returned to the nation. PF leadership needs to search within themselves and do that which is right, stop the violence at once. PF you are failing the nation the same way you are failing your own party.

Look at the comments put across on facebook by people from the east and north with impunity. Now it only makes sense to remove people of certain ton and this will mean soon not having friends across tribes even on social media. That is not a good sign.

  17. There is no positive evidence that PF were responsible.

I advise Zambians to keep a sharp look look out for such planted stories.

This reads like another HH allegation of election fraud.

    • Some of these politicians change sides as many times a Rubik’s cube has permutations!

How can this system of multi-party changes be allowed.

The political system in Zambia is geared to keeping the same politicians in around the power base so they keep their large jar hands in the cookie jar!

The Honourable title must be understood by Zambian Politicians. You are expected to BE Honourable. Resign from your party position and let your seat be re-contested or better let all MPs also have a running mate in case they decide to dishonour their party and colleagues by supporting opposition. Why would you be in a party you cannot support.

  18. MANGANI IS A FINISHED POLITICIAN WHO DOES NOT COMMAND ANY RESPECT FROM THE LOCALS IN CHIPATA. OUR STAFF HAD CARRIED AN ASSESSMENT OF HIS INFLUENCE TO SWAY THE EASTERNERS TO JOIN UPND. ONE LADY AT SATURDAY MARKET JUST LAUGHED AND SAID, “IF CHICKENS WERE TAKLING WE WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO A CHICKEN THAN MANGANI”.
