Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama says President Edgar Lungu will go on holiday after returning from the African Union Summit currently taking place in Ethiopia.

Mr. Chama told journalist that President Lungu will constitute his full cabinet after he returns from an unnamed holiday destination.

He disclosed that he has been asked by the Head of State to accompany him
for a holiday but could not disclose the date and destination saying the country will be informed in due course.

The PF Secretary General said the President requires to refresh after a gruesome election campaign before picking a team that can carry on the vision of the party and deliver in accordance with the party manifesto.

He said the PF has been in power for three years in which the party has
delivered on many development projects and will continue implementing developmental projects across the country in the remaining two years.

Mr Chama reiterated President Lungu’s calls for an end to political violence being perpetrated by cadres from political parties.

He was speaking to journalist shortly after seeing off the President Lungu
who left the country for Ethiopia to attend the African Union
Summit.

    • Mwayamba kunama, mange.

Just tell the nation the truth that Lungu is going for serious medical attention to evaluate the possibilities of a kidney and liver transplant.

Lungu be bold and let your people tell the truth about your health. There is nothing wrong with being heavy drinker. Tell the truth and pledge to lower your alcohol intake for your sake and the nation.

So early going on medical working holiday when he has not even finished swearing in the cabinet. Anyway in absence of ministers permanent secretaries are capable of implementing his directives.

For leaving the late Sata ‘s useless cabinet in limbo, I commend you Lungu. Batinike bazibe at you are in charge.

I can see LUNGU is a smooth operator. How dare he leaves most cabinet posts vacant and takes a…

    • I wish you well Lungu. But please tell the truth for some of us have ears and eyes in your state house and know exactly what you get up to every minute in state house.

Please come back home vertically not horizontally. We are tired of morning presidents. Embassy park is filling up fast.

Be careful with Mugabe. Keep him at a distance and watch his every move because he can send you to an early grave any time.

      Best wishes Lungu.

    • So you people voted for this lazy bones this slaggardy ning nong hahahahahaha rest!!!!!!!!!!!! this is how sata started but remember you will not be intombed in coffin

    • The nation is broke and hasn’t functioned properly for three years and he is taking holiday before working? That is why we needed people with energy. I hope he won’t be held hostage by Boko Haram if he is meeting them to thank them for the $$$$.

    • So now Davies Chama is the government spokesman? That man is a danger to the nation. Why not Msisika or Amos to inform us? Whom does that Davies Chama thinks he is yet. Can’t remember how we did to Kabimba?

    • BA DAVIES PLEASE, DONT START MESSING UP. EL HAS GONE TO THE AU MEETING AS HEAD OF STATE AND NOT PF PRESIDENT, SO YOU CANNOT BE THE ONE TO TALK ABOUT HIS TRAVEL ITINERARY OR WHEN THE FULL CABINET WILL BE APPOINTED.

    • Ex-Moma. Get your facts right. Ask Mugabe, Jacob Zuma, Kikwete they will tell you want they did just after an election was won. Be informed rather than misleading people. After an election is the most appropriate time to rewind and freshen up for the long and crude journey ahead. You should not wait long or else you might not have any time.

    • Folks

Be warned that, when ever an election is stolen in Zambia bad things tend to happen to the president. It does not matter how good the president elect who stole the elections turns out to be , a curse still follows them up to the grave in a short time.

In Zambia if the just ended election was stolen, those involved will continue to lead miserable lives no matter how hard they try to be normal. Things will start happening to them that will remind them of their evil actions even though they will be in denial.

Any one involved in rigging the just ended elections will NOT see 2016 in one peace. Nature has a crude way of dealing with such rogue elements.

It shall come to pass folks not far from now. So confess or else?????

Ignore my prognosis at your peril.

      Watchout!

    • @Miya 1.12 if you want to defend EL pick on some outstanding personalities as examples to justify his holiday. You are saying ask Mugabe? ?? hahahaha! Give a name of a successful company or a prosperous nation where their leader takes vacations before gets to work, before he even appoints a full cabinet. As it is everything is going to be on hold till Lungu is roused from his holiday.Besides EL didnt campaign as much as HH…He had Guy Scott doing half his campaigns. So where is the fatigue from? Is he fit to lead the country if he tires so easily?

    • This is rubbish. And you mean to tell me that these so called leaders are pan-africanists,that they love africa? why is it that when you want a holiday, imwe kuya kufyalo fyabasungu. why cant you spend your earned kwachas in zambia, zimbabwe, botswana, ghana or angola. buti imwe you want to go outside africa. You leaders ARE a joke. Kaunda was good in this sense in that he always went to mfuwe to rest.he was proud of his country etc. am afraid we might never get a president who loves his country as much as kaunda did. despite his flaws, he did love his country.
Ba lungu we know you are going to israel or europe for treatment bakalamba. maybe its for an Alcoholics Anonymous treatment course.kikiki. Kukaba ati, “hello, my name is edgar lungu, president of zambia and i am an alcoholic”.kikiki

    • TOTALLY,I AGREE WITH YOU,HE NEEDS REST.HE HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE COUNTRY EVEN HH WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME.WHERE OTHERS SEE RIGHT,OTHERS SEE WRONG.LETS LEAVE IT THERE BANE.

    • With that case I saw on TV. Eish this how it starts. How can he even before he appoints a full cabinet. I smell something. What did those doctors recommend any way.

    • This is a new approach to work, going on leave a day after someone has been appointed or elected CEO. Life is Good, LG, at its best. Rest well mr president.

    • He will come back from the holiday fully refurbished, I reckon. It’s one of those pecks one gets as president of Zambia. He does need reconditioning for sure. He looks tired already.

  1. Actually it is customary in nearly every country that a president goes on vacation right after assuming office.

    • Just how does anyone start with leave before earning it, he is resting from what? correct me if I am wrong, I thought leave days are earned? When did this change? Leaving the country with an incomplete cabinet is gross incompetence.

  2. He needs not only a Rest but also to seek God’s intervention as he choose his full Cabinet Ministers. He need people who will assist him to deliver development across this Lovely nation.

    • It has begun… Just like his predecessor, same script, different actor. Taking a ‘holiday’ to unknown destination before even Scott completing a hand-over of power, virtually leaving a power vacuum in the absence of cabinet. This is Africa, this is Zambia.

Surely at least he could have even just put in a cabinet in place and addressed parliament before going away for a medical leave. He’s sure continuing with the ‘vision’ of Sata. Don’t you worry the ZWD will tell us where exactly he’s going.

    • Ah please imwe naiwe, what kind of nonsense is that?!!! You shall know them by their fruits and there it is, a week later and the trees are already bearing fruit.

  3. For sure His Excellency, Mr Edgar C. Lungu needs that break(holiday) for the last three months has been emotionally taxing season both to his precious life and Patriotic Front Party family.

  4. Holiday or treatment? Ba PF you are starting again with your unknown destinations. Please spare us this crap. The guy underwent a medical checkup yesterday which came out ‘clean’ and now he will go for a holiday because of campaigns? am not so sure. Just wondering!!!!!!

  5. He needs free time to think over a team he can work with. There are so many brains in PF and Zambia that needs to select from. SO, i say So, let us give him time to reflect.

    • This is how Sata also started…’working holiday’ to unknown destination. …we know the drill!! Just be ready to come up with new excuses on his next holiday to unknown destination. This is a waste of the poor tax payers monies.

    • THIS IS A BUNCH OF BULL. I can’t imagine why any Zambian is ok with this?!!!! The people you appoint in office need to be accountable!!!! You all just paid for that holiday he is having and the ink hasn’t even dried on the paper yet. HOW IS THIS OK?!!!! Isn’t he supposed to be working for the people of Zambia?!!!

  6. I have my own view on this one. First, why is the holiday destination being withheld? Don’t forget that Edgar Lungu just went for his medical check up at Lusaka Trust Hospital and Maina Soko Military Hospital. My question is: Could it be that the check up discovered some complications that can only be handled at hospitals abroad as was the case with Sata? This is how everything started with Sata and the PF were very secretive. Are they playing the same game again? If they have nothing to hide, let the holiday destination be made known. After all, Lungu is not using his own money; he is using tax payers money and we the owners of the money need to be informed about how our money is being spent. The PF Sec Gen must not start playing silly games by assuming that people are foo.lish.

  7. Jerk up the man is under intense pressure to constitute his cabinet without antagonising certain members. So this holiday will accord him a quite opportunity to negotiate with the disappointed members with aggreving them. Moreover there elections just around the corner.
    Smart man.

  8. I thought he had said he will start working immediately because there is much time left since the next election is in 18 months. What has changed now? The pressing job of poverty reduction, unemployment just to mention a few are already done. This is different from the story of the Vineyard owner in the bible. LOL

  9. If you don’t know now you know. Mukaleke ukulya ba kolwe mwe fibantu imwe mulatusebanya. Echo na mano yabela ayabukolwe ukwiba no kupanga sana ichongo napashili ifilingile.

  10. please take one person who will be showing him where the toilet wil be becuase he may develop diarrhoea there in ethopia after a flight.even english fluency is his tight enemy.i think in eastern province education is poor and dirty-poor

    • ok yes, education is poor and dirty in eastern province, so what? we cant even speak english we easterners and we are proud of that. Just goes to show that our values are not vested in accustoming ourselves to white western virtues and norms unlike some of you with mountains of degrees to your names but cant even build your own village a school later on invent something for the benefit of your village, community, country. So what good is your english and education? bundafye bwakuibepa ati am in the states mdala, twalyendelela. Busy making other peoples lands develop by giving yourselves off as cheap labor all in the name of ubulaya kikikiki. I guess the bigger f.o.o.l.s are you who elect a person with dirty english/education to be your president!!!! Kikikikikiki.

  11. The first and early signs of problems to come. Secret holidays and destinations within one week! I have no sympathy for the f.ools who voted for this man.

  12. First a compliment – it seems the President has heeded my advice and is wearing a dark suit as he leaves for Ethiopia. Maybe this is another occasion. But now a comment on the holiday being taken by the newly sworn in President to an “unknown destination.”

Here in lies the problem: it is a pattern we were introduced to under Sata when he was president. Holidays turned into medical treatment trips with no accountability to the Zambian taxpayer who is footing the whole bill not only for the President but for the entire delegation or staff who accompany him. In one announcement, the President tarnished his talk about transparency already setting the tone that the President’s destinations may not be known to the public. This is unfortunate.

Now the media will have to be extra alert.

    • IT IS NOT THE BILLS YOU WERE CONCERNED ABOUT. IT WAS RATHER YOUR DESIRE TO HAVE SATA DEAD AND REPLACED BY HH THAT WAS VERY EXCITING TO YOU AS IT PRESENTED A PROSPECT FOR HH TO ENTER STATE HOUSE. WHEREAS SATA DIED, UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU, HH FAILED TO ENTER STATE HOUSE EVEN OVER SATAs DEAD BODY.

  13. The president’s holiday must be in Zambia not abroad save money and also to avoid suspicion of attending some treatment in India.
Chama must stop generalising that the violence is perpetrated by all parties when it is well known that the thugs and panga wielders are PF cadres. The president singled them out in his warning to them yesterday. Chama do your job sincerely!

  14. ooooooooooooooooo i see after vacation he will be travelling to nigeria to thank boko haram for the support they rendered during elections.holiday yakuti naimweeeeeeeeeeeee and please lungus assistants tell him to reduce fue prices becuase that eoroplane he is using needs fue and the country will run out of capital hahahahahahahaha we are watching you.

  15. Does lungu still remember the last day he attended a church service? its like he doesnt know even what john 14:1 says the popurest verse in the bible and even Juses wept the shortest verse in the bible

    • I DONT THINK EL KNOWS “JUSES” FROM THE BIBLE BECAUSE EVEN ME I HAVE NEVER FOUND THIS “JUSES” IN ANY BIBLE. I HAVE ONLY FOUND JESUS IN THE BIBLE. THE CHRIST AND BELOVED SON OF GOD ALMIGHTY.

    • Miner. I think he will be working out who should be and not be in his cabinet. I am just suspecting. Because Chama said he will finish his cabinet when he comes back. There should be a lot of thinking during this “holiday” I guess.

  16. go well your execellence, i can only wish you the best of luck as you give your first speech at the A.U. you have won many hearts after recognizing the bashi lubemba parmount Henery Kanyanta Sosala.

  17. Blood thirsty hynas always looking for blood and death. Are you doctors to say that the president is suffering from liver and kidney desease, could someone with those serious problems been able to campgain. Your HH is the one who needs to be examined at Chinama beaause he suffers from nkhunyu (fits) still hallucinating that he won the elections.

  18. Looks like Zambians never tire of paying medical bills for sitting Presidents. If I had a way would have setup an inquiry into how much money was spent during the illness of late President and decide when their medical aid takes over….anyway just talking!

    • Zambia has not even paying Sata’s medical bills and you have your EL following the same path i.e. medical tourism… Brace yourselves for things to come!

Why not just improve the renal unit at UTH or upgrade that mini-hospital at state house?

  19. I just wonder, why people have so much energy to cook up innuendos based on someone who we all know has been campaigning day and night over the last few weeks!

Also, did Guy Scott not take a few breaks during the campaign, we saw him and his wife going to check Tourist destinations, sitting by a little pond side! He also said he was going on holiday soon after finishing his Acting President role!

It makes sense that His Excellency takes a break now. It’s normal, everyone of us would NEED a holiday if we had gone through all that.

We wish Your Excellency Bonnes Vacances, Bon Voyage!

    • And may the First Lady enjoy replenishing her wardrobe.

A little shopping therapy will do both of them a lot of good. That way His Excellency can treat us to more of his wonderful suits and Ties! If it’s London, a trip down Jerymn Street for some fun Tie top ups and Saville Row!

  20. Presido make it a working holiday we don’t have enough time to rest 2016 is around the corner lets work so that we can beat the UPND again it was a very sweat victory

    • @Saka J

We should ALL take a holiday now. A few Blogging breaks will do all the warriors some good before campaigning starts NEXT YEAR!!

All we need His Excellency to do now is to rid the party of ‘you know who’s
‘ and select a good faithful Team in Cabinet.

The rest of this year is completing as much developments as possible to make sure PF have enough to prove their ability. Attending to the Constituion Enactment and altering the POA to free it from abuse.

Talking about POA, whatever happened to Nelson Msoni, do we need to go and free him fro House a Arrest under POA?!

  21. Ladies and Gentlemen, kindly allow me to ask and thanks
    in advance.

I read the other day and even today that the President is busy consulting before he makes each and every appointment in government.

My humble and friendly question is; who are those people he is consulting from?

Is he consulting the Spirit of our departed leader or may be his fellow Kachasu Men and Women?

  22. those that wish others ill health and death are advocates of the devil . Any normal person can not do that. only those who are

    i. evil minds
    ii. Jealous
    iii. witches
    iv sadist
v forgetting about Gods teachings and rely on prophetic conmen
    vi bitter for unknown reasons

  23. KK SPEAKS AGAINIST TONGA HARRASMENT BY BEMBA TRIBALISTS SPONSORED BY DAVIES CHAMA

‘It is inhuman, stop harassing Tongas’

First republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda has called for the immediate halt to what he described as “harassing Tonga Speaking People” in the country.

Dr Kaunda said it is disheartening to see how Tongas are being treated in the post election period and he advised all Zambians to uphold the “one Zambia one nation slogan”

Meanwhile FODEP executive director Macdonald Chipenzi has warned that if people continue with such kind of behavior, it might aggravate to a level where it will be impossible to control “its sad that Tongas are now called pigs, cows, dogs or any bad name they think of this is not right who ever is orchestrating this tribalism sh

  24. “could not disclose the date and destination saying the country will be informed in due course.” YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE NATION WILL BE INFORMED IN DUE COURSE. I DONT SEE THE REASON WHY UPND LOSERS ARE WORRIED. I THOUGHT AS UPND YOU SHOULD BE REJOICING IF EL IS SICK BECAUSE IN YOUR WICKED THINKING YOU HOPE THAT HE WILL DIE. AND THAT WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER CHANCE TO COMPETE FOR THE PRESIDENCY. IT IS A SHAME ON YOU. HE HAS NOT YET DECIDED WHERE TO GO FOR HOLIDAY.

    • Whatever it is you are trying to say avoid capitalization of all letters. it’s equivalent to yelling, It’s a put off and it’s rude.

    • Ba Chisenga, surely you are not that naive! lol! He is the President of the Republic of Zambia and on the eve of his departure for Ethiopia you mean to say he does not know where he is going for his holiday? You mean you seriously believe that story line? No my friend, The President of course knows where he is headed after the Summit in Ethiopia. And if it is London or India or Israel, then he will only open up the door for much speculation that this is not a holiday but has other reasons including the possibility of a medical check up. Thats just the facts. so no, I don’t buy the story being told that he does not where he will be on holiday. Perhaps someone needs to remind him that he is now President of a country – Zambia. He cannot just show up at some lodge and ask for a room!! Right?

  25. ….mmmm… holiday? Working holiday perhaps. Probably mfuwe like KK?
My worry is this Davis Chama. Isnt he the PF SG? Why should he take a function of State House to announce a holiday of a Head of State? Mwayamba.

  26. This will be my new name to be given to EL.
IN view of his extensive travels…..
    Edger747……….

and a holiday after a holiday in Addis ?
    where on earth?
    r zambians serious?
is it a medical…thus is not disclosed?

  27. i thought is the one who was saying time for honey moon is over?
be consistence Mr president we are counting,
    1. i will form cabinet, you didn’t
    2. no honey moon, you go on holiday

  28. Similar pattern being followed. Sata would disappear after the AU meetings and Edgar Lungu is taking the same pattern. What a country! And by the way, why is the Secretary General announcing the president’s itinerary? Isn’t this the responsibility of Cabinet Office and State House? What’s wrong with PF?

  29. Ill people are in hospitals like edgar what is he doing in state house where only healthy and energetic people are found.Zambia will grind its teeth by increased presidential funurals and remember zambia is world’s presidential funerals leading country

    • Well, we will pay but pa credit perhaps? Zambians have not yet finished paying Sata’s medical bills and now you have started Lungu’s.

  30. A medical leave is how they should have put it. This was the wise advice of the team of medical experts who examined him. Hope we are not being dribbled again.

  31. @chisenga are you one of lungus estates beneficialy? lungu is less eucated he gained his lawyer qualifications by using his powers he was chased from zaf for drunkardness hahahahahahahahahahahahhhahaha luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunguuuuuuuuuuuu aka pinhead president.I think he was last in class always and which poor school did he go to? hope its not unza for inteligents hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa he needs psychoanalisation

  32. Honeymoon off course. He mentioned it in his inaugural speech. Meanwhile his friends are in limbo. They don’t know whether he has done them dochi kubeba or they keep their jobs.

  33. Ifintu!!! Ni don’t kubeba. Ifintu ni continuation of more medical trips disguised as business trips. We have seen this movie twice before. it’s. now boring and annoying.

  34. Iliko! Holiday ka my man. Yaba pa Zed. Its either he is not well needs some attention somewhere privately and cant be avoided or the man is completely useless as a leader so which one is it?

  35. Well, this is interesting! I just shared with my colleagues that my president is going on holiday less than a month in the office, guess what, they laughed their lungs out. How does one go on vacation before completing assigning ministers? This can only happy in Zambia.

  36. The First Lady Esther Lungu, the chitenge is too cheap for your status. Please buy good ones when you return. Safe trip bane, infintu in lungu

  37. The guy deserves a holiday. Don’t fovget he held two ministerial posts on top of being secretary general and acting president. We all remember the fierce infighting that characterised PF before the elections, which could have left him bruised abit. Let him rest and get recharged. That is also the crucial time to think about the team he would need to steer the country forward.

    • These silly PF kaponyas are annoying. If they have ever been employed, they would understand. How can you be offered a job and then the week you are supposed to start, you tell your boss that you need a vacation? ARE THESE BLIND FOLLOWERS NORMAL? GOD HELP MY COUNTRY FROM THESE LUNATICS!

  38. rest is needed especially after that campaign- the body needs rest as well. the way people are complaining – he is not a machine he is human like us

  39. I am imagining a new employee in an organization coming to you as the Human Resource Director to ask for leave after two weeks because he is tired because of looking for employment …. and can only function properly after resting. What would you do?? Fire him … of course!!! If Lungu is tired, that is a party issue and should not have anything to do with our tax payers’ money. Let the party sponsor him for a holiday. We can only allow him a holiday after he has started work. Eishhhh.

  40. Now that EL is president, issues pertaining to him must be annouced by his part cadres especially for businesses that relate to the govt. In short, PF must differentiate party and govt business so they do not end up using govt resources for their party benefit.

    • Tell them mwandi: It should not be a surprise to all bearing in mind the livercirrosis/renal faluire and pancreatitis…

Infact you congratulate him/them more for at least enlightening you on the late development.

      Ta

  41. These silly PF kaponyas are annoying. If they have ever been employed, they would understand. How can you be offered a job and then the week you are supposed to start, you tell your boss that you need a vacation? ARE THESE BLIND FOLLOWERS NORMAL? GOD HELP MY COUNTRY FROM THESE LUNATICS!

  42. You deserve a good break for your hard work. Go and reflect Mr. President and come and clean up the mess in Government and Parastatals. There too many moles and enemies.
Remember that many high profile people had their legs in two camps and they should not cheat you now that you have won the elections. Am sure you know which people were genuinely on your side through thick and thin.

We wish you and your family well.

    God bless.

  43. Oh lord we pray please may you grant our president good health and wisdom. As much as those of us who support HH wanted our candidate to prevail we wish no ill on Lungu. First a “routine medical check up” and now an unexpected holiday to a secret location? We have been through this plot before. This is how rumors start. To the PF please remember the truth will set you free and transparency is the most important of virtues for a government. Remember how you handled Sata and the result thereof. Hope Lungu is well.

  44. Burning gas, using a choper just to get to the airport when other province like western are crying of shortage of gas. Welcome aboard, we are in the a very long rough flight. hope its gona be a safe landing.

  45. When leaders whose security detail is even more closely guarded like Obama go on holiday it customary to announce thier destinations and duration. Infact they go as far as inviting the national press so the presidents holiday is partially documented and the people can see that he is truly on holiday. We see Obama playing golf and taking shoping sprees with his family and friends when he is on holiday. There is a reason for that transparency. The position of president can not be shrouded with secrecy when it comes to the people knowing the state of the nations government. Document Lungus holiday and let the people know he is well. Off course give him his intimate moments with his family but don’t hide him.

  46. As the saying goes, if you invite a thief to be a guest in your house, don’t be surprised if your things start to vanish mysteriously.

  47. I see that most Zambians have difficulties in logic and analysis.
They believe if Peter has eaten nshima and gets full, he can for rice until he can take it no more.
After rice, he should ask for bread, and then potatoes, etc. until he cannot stand.
They believe there is different hunger for everything.

Using the above ‘logic’, they think each job has its own ‘tiredness’; meaning working as minister of home affairs will only make you tried if you continue on the same job. If you go to Legal you are no longer tired because new energy comes for that job, acting as president, and campaigning, etc. – all can’t make you tired because they are different.
Lungu has been working for the past 3 yrs non-stop, and change of roles (current being president) does not imply he has just…

  48. Lungu has been working for the past 3 yrs non-stop, and change of roles (current being president) does not imply he has just started.
In your angle of view, Is it the job or role that gets tired or it is that individual involved?
If it is the individual involved, then change of jobs or roles imply resetting the individual because it is the same body that has been working on all the different jobs.
I don’t know how some people look at things and think, or is it the failure or forging to see or think; or is it indeed the very challenge in logic?
I don’t know; I expected this to be simple for everyone, but am amazed at how we apply or fail to apply our logic.

  49. @panafricanist why not Lungu you ask! The answer is simple, because Lungu just assumed the presidency of a country in deep crisis. Just in case you don’t realize it the state of the Zambian nation is on the verge of total collapse. The Kwacha continues to fall, copper prices tanking agricultural policy needs an immediate and complete overhaul. Education is hurting major health crisis with acute shortages of medicine. The first thing a new president does is go on holiday? After 27 years in prison Mandela did not come out and say first I need a vacation. He went striaight to work. That’s what we expect.

  50. Lungu has been Minister for the past 3 years, from:
    1) Home Affairs to,
    2) Defense, the to,
    3) Defense and Legal (both of which are top ministries), then to,
    4) Defense and Legal Plus Acting President, then to,
    5) Defense and Legal Plus campaign, then to,
    6) Now President;
The above he has carried out non-stop
Come on guys, move away from that fictitious ‘logic’ you are using or misusing and get home to reality.
It is the same body that has been subjected to the above roles.
You may not see this or agree.
Conclusion: OK, now; whether you like it or not he is going to rest – period. State and illustrate what your problem is!

  51. First & foremost, the President deserves a holiday & why not, campaigning in choppers must be tiring. I am PF but a frank one. What we don’t want is the people, who EL called ‘Bosses’ to be misinformed. We want to know from the onset what is going, if it’s genuinely a holiday, enjoy. If it is a transplant of some sort as some are blogging, we better be informed so we can pray. We would rather this Chama tells us if not EL otherwise the ZWD will.

    • You are WRONG!! If you are ok voting for a president who will take a holiday after days of being appointed then you deserve the poverty you are living in, in Zambia right now. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!

  52. According to reports available online Lungu has not worked three striaght years with no holiday. Ask the people in the various ministries he has headed he has on ocaasion taken leave from work to tend to his rest and personal vacation. So lets not say he has worked 3 years with no rest that a lie . I have nothing against him going on holiday just be transparent about it and do it at an appropriate time. Not a wek after assuming office and days after a medical check up. This is the presidency and perceptions are as important as reality. Imagine what would happen to the world markets if Obama pulled such a stunt. Investors are watching this and this does not look good. When you become president you give up certain aspects of privacy and going on holiday to secret locations is one of them

  53. He shall be in Mfuwe on a working vacation. All logistics and country operations are always with him. Be not deceived by your non functioning minds lol.

  54. President Lungu should employ George Mpombo to be his press head. Ba Bemba ba Chama chizungu chashupa. He was supposed to say working holiday, not Holiday lol!

Lungu has started well, but his subordinates are still stuck in Sata’s shadow.

  55. Unknown destination implies lack of planning! Taking leave before accumulating leave days is worrisome too! It’s all like the same old habits of sneaking out of the country to meet unknown people abroad! I hope he is not under pressure to meet them again and give them promises on how soon he will return their money or to sign some contracts so that they can now come and get their money legally or otherwise. I am sure RB will accompany him on the holiday to advise him on who to appoint and disappoint. Very interesting reading…especially that he is not going to rest but to go and decide on who must be in the next cabinet.. working holiday? Hope it’s not abroad…..who are the advisors, please. Cabinet should have made up long before during campaigns unless He was not confident of…

  56. But this guy has pending matters of mines closures. It is surprisingly that he does not want to show leadership in this regard. Some mines already have started packing their bags to leave Zambia because of the mess Chikwanda and Yaluma created. But this guys has now started galavating like RB used to do.

  57. I don’t think this SecGen. was asked to announce the Presidential intentions. He is totally offside. The Presidential spokes person should announce the Presidential programme to the ‘bosses’. Someone seems excited about going away to a yet to be named destination. Don’t worry they will be right here across the Livingstone in Vic Falls. Welcome Ba President you are very welcome.

  58. Zambians, I love you! You love to be lied to, kikikikiki! And the secrecy and lies go on! Ever heard of transparency? What is wrong with revealing where the people’s servant is going on holiday? We are all paying for the holiday. It is only fair we know what we are paying for, no?!?.

    • No. Most jobs would have you on probation the first 3-6months. You don’t get a holiday scheduled within the first week, you accumulate the time. Now fine, it’s not a regular job, however, after everything that has happened in the past months with PF really, is this the time to be taking time off? He’s only going to start working at the end of the two years so he can be reinstated by the people again? This is BS!!!!

  59. @70.1 Eman

For you, most likely we would not need to even examine.
I do not think there would be any doubts to clear.
    Unless for formalities’ sake.

  60. The guy is going for medical treatment just like Sata’s last days so be prepared people. He might just fall to the ground and that will be it.
