Ronald Kampamba’s mentor at Kitwe Soccer Academy Fred Siame believes the Chipolopolo striker will thrive at his new Egyptian club Wadi Degla.

Kampamba on Wednesday made his debut for Degla just four days after joining the Cairo club on a three and half year deal from Nkana.

Degla lost 2-1 to Petroject as Kampamba played 90 minutes before he was substituted in the 90th minute.

Siame, who spotted Kampamba, before he joined Nkana in 2009, said the player will excel in Egypt.

“I have no doubt Kampamba will make it because he is a disciplined player.

I met him before he left and told him to work hard and remain disciplined,” he said.

The ex-Zanaco player and now Mining Rangers coach noted that Kampamba’s move to Egypt would be a gate-way to Europe.

“He will soon break into Europe. I am wishing him luck,” Siame said in Kitwe.

Kampamba finished as the top scorer in the 2012 and 2013 FAZ Super League.

His 18 league goals in the 2013 season propelled Nkana to their 12th Super League title.

  4. He is too short and tinny for a striker in Europe. Others have made up for these deficiencies by being skillful, but alas, Kampamba doesn’t! Good luck in Egypt only!
