The Grand Coalition on a People Driven Constitution yesterday kicked out Alliance for Better Zambia President Fr. Frank Bwalya from meeting on suspicion that he was a mole in the coalition licking out information to the ruling Patriotic Front.

A source within the Grand Coalition says the Coalition convened a meeting at Protea Hotel, Arcades in Lusaka to look at were they are in the fight for a people driven Constitution and strategize on how they will continue to push for the document to be enacted before the 2016 General Elections but that some members refused to proceed with the meeting if the ABZ President was in attendance.

The source said FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza who was representing party President Edith Nawakwi raised a Point of Order when the meeting was called to order saying the meeting should not proceed because Fr Bwalya was not one of them as he has been fraternizing with the PF even when knows the PF President Edgar Lungu who is now republican president has refused to give the country the constitution.

The source further disclosed that Mr. Mwanza frankly told the house that Fr. Bwalya was not one of them as he openly campaigned for the ruling party even with the full knowledge on the stance of the coalition adding that the opposition leader had continued to fraternize with the PF to the extent that he is now featuring on radio stations defending the PF on the enactment of the constitution.

“Mr. Mwanza openly told Fr. Bwalya that he couldn’t be trusted because he was a job seeker who would take what ever they would discuss straight to the president and his camp hence should not be allowed to attend the meeting.

He also told the house that Fr. Bwalya openly campaigned for the PF candidate Edgar Lungu even when he knew the stance of the Coalition and that Fr. Bwalya was now going to radio stations saying the constitution was not a priority which is the complete opposite of what they as the Grand Coalition stands for.”

“He also reminded the house that when the Young African Leaders Initiative, YALI started meeting former Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba behind the backs of the coalition they were kicked out of the grouping hence the same rules should apply to the opposition leader.”

The source said Mr. Mwanza was seconded by Chikondi Foundation founder Bishop John Mambo who said the country is were it is because people fear to tell their leaders the truth. He said people should not fear their leaders but rather respect them.

The meeting was chaired by Grand Coalition deputy chairperson Sara Longwe and other notables in the attendance were UPND President Hakainde Hichilema, Coalition Chairperson Fr. Chiti, FDD National Secretary Nathan Mulonga among others.

When contacted for a comment Fr. Bwalya refused to comment saying he couldn’t comment because he has never dealt with the reporter in question.

  1. The writer will do well to look up the meaning of the word “licking”. There is a huge difference between licking and leaking!!

    • Hahaha…..Fr Bwalya is loose hence he “licks” information. Even when not asked, information “licks” uncontrollably. He’s a punctured tyre tube.

    • Why do you people refer to this jobseeker, visionless, primitive mole that FR Bwalya?..he is just a Bwalya; stop using that title for this guy; he is a disgrace to the Catholic church.

    • Persons that abandon the pulpit for politics in Zambia seem to have difficulties in being accepted in their new roles.

    • Thanks Godfrey! And also the word ‘were’ should be ‘where’ in the subsequent sentence. “… Arcades in Lusaka to look at were they are in the fight for a people driven Constitution…”

    • The likes of Frank Bwalya are the reason that has denied the Catholic Denomination a seat at the UN for siding with Hitler (Nazi’s).

    • I really struggle to understand the thinking of some organisations. You call yourselves “Grand Coalition” and yet you are selective of who participates depending on political affiliation or “endorsements”.
I do not like Fr Bwalya one little bit, but Political Parties under a veil of something else is neither welcome or beneficial to a developing nation. No wonder Lungu refused to sign the “social contract” if it is opposition parties “floating a bait”.
On the delivery of a constitution before 2016 elections, one must be realistic since the elections are 18 months away. How do you manage what is left in the preocess of the constitution and then plan and organise a referendum followed by general elections? A
Realistic approach is far better than day dreaming…Anyday

    • God don’t like ugly. Father Bwalya aka Belinda nafwa aka chikokoshi is a perfect representation of ‘ugly’ morals. Stick to the pulpit and umukate.

    • …..an indication that the author and his editor are ‘pornoholics’ where the word ‘licking’ is predominantly used….

    • Well done! He is the mole! I have never seen a man of the cloth who is so indecisive. Today he is with PF the next day heis back to his party. Ban Bwalya. He is hopeless. He has gonebackbecause he sees no jobcomingfrom President Lungu

    • He should re-look at his life.

A Priest (or former priest) not to be trusted by others speaks loud volumes about this Bwalya’s life. Something is really wrong with him.

  2. Father Bwalya is messing himself up real good. He does not know what he wants any more.

He is the same person who campaigned vigorously for the late Sata only to turn against him after being offered a job.

I strongly feel this guy has some underground support from some Jesuit quarters, just to create undue confusion and tension, antagogonising any one every were any time. He will soon run away from Lungu after this long campaign.

He is not to be trusted and right now he is all over like a rabied dog.

    • @ Jumbe

Unfortunately, Bwalya knows what he wants. Crumbs and leftovers from the high table and few pieces of silver.

  3. @ shadreck biemba my brother, it is not about HH BUT about the future of your children and their children. I am sure you are already living on borrowed time. You must realize that this country will not move anywhere without a People Driven Constitution.

  4. Whatever goes up must come down
This is Fr Bwalya declined jst go back to yo priesthood God is know with happy of what u doing.

  5. That was a right to do. Thumbs up. Fr. Bwalya is desperately looking for a job in PF hence campaigning for EL. The man is compromised.

  6. Perhaps we need more empathy for Fr. Bwalya than being critical of him. He dumped priesthood in pursuance of his ego for earthly glory and yet nobody seems to take notice of him. Compare him to the stature of priests like Fr Chilinda or Fr Chiti and you certainly become overwhelmed by a sense of something a miss.

  7. @ Shadreck, what has made you to be an illegal immigrant? You are living on hand outs and garbage bins. Shame on you. Your visionless drunkard should just do the right thing and give the people the constitution. This constitution is not for HH but the people of Zambia. So stop vomiting.

  8. And this Father Bwalya Posted on his facebook page that HIS PARTY HAS WITHDRAWN from the Grand coalition. He failed to say i have been kicked out.

  9. What party has Bwalya got?

He is just alone in that party. Whether he withdraws or not there is no effect. The chap has no audience except to use another political party. Anyway even uncle Muliokela is a president of a party just like Bwalya.

  10. So this Grand Coalition is anything but the ruling party? Basically a cocktail of power seeking people. So when another party that is in the Grand Coalition wins the election then they are out. I think it is a consortium of anti PF zealots. I see poverty stricken members hiding behind genuine ideas but funded. What hunger does is clear from the way these Grand Coalition members are behaving. PF ignore this Grand Collection

  11. What were they discussing that they do not want the President to know? They forget that he is the only who will enable the Constitution to be enacted before the next elections. That Father Chiti is not different from Father Bwalya: they are both mental cases. If they don’t want the President or indeed the government to know, then who do they want to benefit from their demands? What is there to leak if whatever they are doing is for the benefit of Zambia? In short they are partisan inclined to the Upnd. Fr Chiti being a Catholic should be sincere with the people. No wonder these fathers are actually fathers of illegitimate children- they pretend to work for God and yet their desires are of the flesh. Before you condemn Bwalya examine the motives of Chiti & Co.

  12. politics of poverty.. we have very few politicians in Zambia. most are just job seekers. politics have been perceived as a quickest way to get rich. we have too many of chite chite president.

  13. ………an indication that the author and his editor are fond of ‘dirty’ clips where the word ‘licking’ is predominantly used..

  14. The only reason HH and Edith Nawakwi are involved in this useless Grand Coalition is because they want to personally benefit fro 50+1. Let me tell you, 50+1 only gives the people the leader they do not really want. There is too much wheeling and dealing to secure such a result. The current system is fine but must be converted into the college model like the USA.

    • Me too especially his attitude each time elections are called by aligning himself to the ruling party to seek a job

  15. Edgar Lungu takes the tribal battle to a higher level in a move which is aimed at disciplining Tongas by denying them even a single cabinet position ,but he has gotten it wrong here,Tongas and bembas being the first two largest tribes by far 15% and 22% of the population of zambia respectively the third tribe being around 5% and the rest below 5%,peace surely must be centered on these two,if the two are kept apart prepare the passports it will be useful soon.

  16. @Stride toward genocide
It has been taken to this level because bembas are using it as a political capital, imagine how do you say i have formed an inclusive cabinet when the real threats(Tongas)due to their numbers have been left out,Tongas should be praised for having sustained this unity people sing about i don’t know how long they will hold on?as provocation has really increased?because they are only human being bound to react.

  17. Am abit confused. I thought Antonio who was in attendance supported FDD and still hanging around with President Nawakwi; Hichilema who was also in attendance supported UPND and himself… so what i wrong to have Fr Bwalya even if he supported PF? Is the meeting aimed plotting against PF or it is a consultative of all key stakeholders.. PF inclusive?? I dont think there was any reasoning in hounding out Fr Bwalya on that basis; otherwise we would say no one affiliated to a political party should attend but where does that leave Antionio the mover of the motion and Hichilema among others? To the Coalition; lets make this a consultative process and an all inclusive process which should aim at arriving at a more realistic common ground for all parties including the PF.

  18. Frank Bwalya together with his friend Cosmo Mumba have absolutely nothing good to offer in the grand coalition to enact a new pipo driven constitution.Good move ba coalition,he could have leaked all the discussions to the president.
