Home Affairs Minister Davis Mwila has dismissed as malicious online media reports suggesting that he has taken over the issuance of work permits to expatriates from the government committee that sits to approve the applications.

Mr. Mwila told QFM News that he understands very well his job and what he is supposed to do and not do.Mr. Mwila said the people fabricating such lies are bitter because government is now strict with the issuance of work permits.

He stated that government will only give expatriates work permits for jobs that Zambians do not have the skills for.Mr. Mwila said there will be no compromise in the issuance of expatriate work permits.

Mr Mwila has since challenged those claiming he has taken over the issuance of work permits to produce evidence of how many permits he has issued. He noted that the people of Zambians have been crying for jobs and that if jobs are taken by foreigners, Zambians will continue being unemployed.Mr. Mwila stated that the PF government is committed to delivering on its campaign promises by creating more jobs for the people of Zambia.

  1. Looking at that Chines fella roasting ‘milisi’ on the street, one would be inclined to believe the rumors Mr. Mwila. How did people like him find their way into Zambia to come and compete with ‘bamake’ Charity on the street? Or have they simply over-stayed their Tourist Visas? If so, what are you doing about it?

    • CHAMA SELLING WORK PERMITS TO HIGHEST BIDDER.

Iwe Mwila I know that you are just pandering to the gullible Zambians more especially the PF thugs who can’t tell that you deceiving them.

This rhetoric is just a pretext to sound tough and yet you are busy, having secret meetings with foreigners who want permits. I know you are telling them to deposit money in some bank account before you can sign off the permits.

Very soon we shall have those bank details and some foreigners who actually paid you for their work permit.

So far there are 10 people we sent to pretend to be foreigners asking for permits with dollars in cash to test if you won’t accept the money.

We are watching your every move Bwana. All your middle men are on our watch list at the REDBRICK.

      So watch out…

Even when it is clear that this in Zambia you still deny it just to justify your corrupt government. Are those orange ribbons not for taxis & mini buses in one of the provinces around.

It doesn’t hurt to keep quiet instead of nauseating people with your foul line of thought!

  3. Hon Minister,
Please visit First Quantum’s operations….YOU WILL NET AT LEAST 80 PEOPLE THERE WHO DO NOT LEGALLY QUALIFY.
The Ndola office bribed people at Lusaka’s Immigration Office to issue them with work permits. Raid the Ndola office and you can intercept the files. Sonia is the kingpin. Her job is solely to obtain work permits. She is the one who flies to Lusaka every week carrying a briefcase with US$. This has been going on since 2006.

  13. TO ENSURE THEY STAY IN AND SPEND LOCALLY GIVE WORK PERMENT TO PEOPLE WHO MOVE IN WITH FAMILIES TO SETTLE AND CREATE VALUE NOT KAMWEENDO MUCHILA TYPE OF INVESTORS AND IN ONLY THOSE AREAS THAT SKILLINGS IS NOT AVAILABLE

ONE WAY TO DO IT IS THROUGH accreditation in institutions and qualifications authorities like EIZ,Qualifications authorities accreditations and marrying those to immigration before permits issued and ensure only skilled are employed as opposed to and permits given only in those technical areas Same in all fields No evaluation of qualifications no work permit and no worker with foreign to create externalities here
